    Our customer had her bumper knocked off in an accident and had to toss it out. We did not remove the bumper but she still had the clips and screws in a place where the bumper was ripped off. If you are looking to learn how to remove a rear bumper cover, work your way from the end of the video to the beginning. In order to take off this rear bumper, you do have to remove the taillights as well. A very easy thing to do!
    Under the taillights are two plastic pins and one 10mm bolt. For the taillights, there are two bolts and the electrical wire you have to disconnect. After you have removed, the taillights, the bumper has a few bolts and plastic push pins. A large portion of screws and plastic push pins would be along with the wheel well attaching the fender liner to the car. Once these are removed, their plastic clips should be exposed underneath the tail light.
    We did not have to remove the rear bumper but if we did, there would be a small number of bolts holding the bottom of the bumper to the bottom frame of the car. Look underneath the rear bumper for those several bolts and, or plastic clips.

    Thank you for your videos! Some tips from doing a swap today. The taillights will be the biggest challenge to remove. Jiggle a lot and also pinch those two white tabs inside the car the fat way as this will help release the locking mechinism that they utilize. Another warning (did this today), since you're wiggling and taillight you may break the bulb/s! So just be warned and TEST this BEFORE you reassemble the taillights (I made this mistake and had to take it out AGAIN). Make sure you are pulling the taillight in the direction of the bolts in the car as well.
    Otherwise the actual bumper removal and install is a cakewalk.

    • @ReveMoto
      @ReveMoto  Před 3 lety +1

    What about those 2 brackets sticking out the absorber? Do they just sit there? Is it even necessary to have them? Please answer my question thank you

    • @ReveMoto
      @ReveMoto  Před 5 lety

      Hello! Yes, those brackets sticking out of the absorber are necessary . The rear bumper slopes down under the tail light and bulges out, and those brackets support the rear bumper. The brackets are there for a reason, so we recommend replacing them. Bumper brackets can be purchased at your local dealership and they usually run from $30 and up. You can certainly try it without but Hyundai has there for a reason. I hope this helps!

    How do you remove/install the lower grey valance ? (On rear bumper)

    • @ReveMoto
      @ReveMoto  Před 3 lety

      If it is like most lower valances and the Hyundai Veloster, you just unclip the lower valance by pushing the tabs. There should also be a couple screws holding it on. I hope this helps!

    • @ReveMoto
      @ReveMoto  Před 3 lety

      Thank you for watching. We always recommend doing your own research. There are only one hood and fender, so the bumper will most likely fit. You will need to make sure you have the connectors for the daytime running lights on your harness. You would need those and the fog light covers. The grille looks to be the same shape, so that may also fit too. Let us know if you have any questions!

    Are there any screws for reflectors or just the clips? Can we replace the reflectors without removing bumper.?

    • @ReveMoto
      @ReveMoto  Před 4 lety

      Possibly but we recommend you take the bumper off completely. This customer was going to install the lower valance and reflectors themselves. So, we didn't get a chance to do it. In my experience, the reflectors are held on by one or two small screws. It might be possible to do if you loosen the bumper at the bottom and sides. This way you can have some room to get your arm in with a short philips screw driver and remove/install the reflector. But if you do this your pretty much removing 70% of the bumper. Also you might damage the bumper up top if you push to hard with the bottom loos and the top secured. Let us know how it works out. Thanks for the question!

    • @ReveMoto
      @ReveMoto  Před 4 lety

      Hello. The little black push pins and bolts can be purchased at your local dealership or autozone/orielly stores. If you have broken bumper brackets, you can get those at the dealership as well. The bolts and push pins tend to run about a dollar a piece or less and the bumper bracket can be $30 and up. I hope this helps!

    This is not 2014-2016 year model elantra

    • @ReveMoto
      @ReveMoto  Před 5 lety

      It is. The bumper fits a 2014-2016 model Elantra's. The 2011-2015 is the fifth generation but it the 2014 model received a face lift changing the fog lights to an "L" shape and placing the reflectors on the rear bumper instead of on the lower textured valance. As well as the face lift, 2013-2014 GLS models changed to the SE model and in 2015 and 2016 saw new changes and upgrades to the SE models, respectively. In February of 2016 Hyundai released the sixth generation Hyundai which is the one we see today. That one also received a face lift for the 2019 models. I hope this clears some things up. Have a great day!
