  • This test has been on my mind for years. Ever since I got my clam clamp knock offs, I knew this needed to be done. The name of the game is being efficient on the job site. This is how you make the most money. You still want great results, so there is no cutting corners. I’ve invested a ton of money trying to get the best joints possible. At first I made my own clamps with triangles glued on them but it just wasn’t efficient enough and were annoying to use. I broke down and got the clam clamps. I bought 12 and realized if you’re doing picture framed windows, I only have enough for 3 windows. So I started looking into using CA glue but didn’t know how strong it was in comparison. That’s what lead me to this test.

I have been using CA glue on all my mdf joints for about 5 years now and have never looked back. I have yet to come back to a broken joint and never need clamps. I precut and stack, then glue them up one by one, each taking 3min or so, and go to install. For mdf it works amazing, and for everything else I usually use speed set and clam clamps 👍

Exactly. That’s how I’m viewing it from now on. With good coverage, it works really well. We use mostly MDF but will continue with clam clamps with real wood in the future.

I know Spencer uses the Titebond HiPUR hot glue. Is that available in Canada? Thoughts?

The difference is that Spencer uses real wood. We never do. So with MDF, this works great. If we were using real wood i would look into it for sure.

Invest in a lapel mic if you want to be serious about making these videos. Otherwise, good content.

Appreciate it. You’re totally right, the sound quality is garbage. Haven’t decided if this sort of content is what I’ll be doing in the future
