    Hey, I’m on like 40K playlists, if I switch will my songs still be on the same playlists
    Also, over 500K people have used my music on social media in their videos. It’s currently a trending sound. If I switch distributors will the videos on Tiktok, IG and FB be muted since people are using the song/sound on the social sites? Thanks

    What if previous distributor has publishing royalties and you are switching because you don’t want them to have that. Couldn’t I just start fresh if I didn’t care about streams or placements?

    Big up Wordplay T. jay. When swithing, do you have to use the original recordings, because I boosted the original recordings volume? Great video sir.

    • @wordplaytjay
      @wordplaytjay  Pƙed 3 měsĂci

      you can switch with adjustments to your recording. just keep the same ISRC code and make sure it’s the same version of the song (explicit/radio edit/remix)

    Great video, im switching from DK to tunecore. My titles have changed since original release along with coverart as well, is it okay to input the new titles and new coverarts with same isrc and upc?

    • @wordplaytjay
      @wordplaytjay  Pƙed měsĂcem +1

      I’m not sure about the cover art but the titles may be an issue. Try one out first
 or ask Tunecore. A new title for the same recording and ISRC may end up being an issue

    • @wordplaytjay
      @wordplaytjay  Pƙed rokem +1

      Umm, i’m not sure I understand you fully.
      When you move your music you can choose to delete your account or not. That’s up to you. If you do delete your account you will no longer be charged.
      If delete your account it impacts all of your songs on that platform. Make sure you add your music to tunecore before deleting Distrokid

  • @redcurrantrecords
    @redcurrantrecords Pƙed rokem +1

    Was cost the only reason for your move? how do you find Tunecore compared to DK?

    • @wordplaytjay
      @wordplaytjay  Pƙed rokem +2

      Cost is a big reason. I get more for less without paying for add ons.
      I don’t like their onboarding process for moving my catalog. It was too complex for music that was already out.
      Their customer service is too slow and lacks understanding sometimes, but I much rather be at Tunecore right now.
      I don’t like their payment system as much. Due to caps on withdrawals. That’s minor.

    My songs will be deleted from digital stores soon, I have access to the metadata and codes for my songs. So if they gets deleted and I upload them to another distributor using the same codes, would I keep the streams?

    • @wordplaytjay
      @wordplaytjay  Pƙed 2 měsĂci

      yes, keep the same ISRC code. you will get a new UPC code. The ISRC is linked to the stream count

    Hey T Jay thanks for the vid.
    Does migrating a release to tunecore also work on the rising artist plan? The rising artist plan does not allow custom irsc codes input which is of course needed to migrate a song

      to my knowledge ISRC codes and UPCs can be transferred to one place to another. Especially if you paid for them. If a distributor gives you free UPC or ISRC they still belong to you to move.
