    Great to learn this. As new song writer, I thought Tuncore distribution handled all of this as part of the normal paid subscription. Did not know you had to use Tuncore Publishing for administration. For the price, well worth it as no way I am going to spend all that time tracking all of that information down. SO signed up after watching your video. Thanks.

    Tunecore is not good at all! There are plenty of fantastic Pub Admins other than Tunecore who can't even audit correctly. Publishing admins; Round Hill, Rough Trade, Mute Song, Clear Box, and Blue Water, just to name a few. I'm a private and more personal publishing admin for a few artists, allowing me to focus more on the details for each one. I audit and do it with a forensic accountant with the software I developed. I can promise you, ANY pub admin is better than Tunecore or Songtrust. Audiam is good, SoundExchange is good... But, those are just pieces you need someone that can collect all six splits, plus anything you own on the record side of the copyrights.

      @@franciscoa.sorianoperez7859 I think these percentages have confused you.
      There is a writer share and a publisher share.
      BMI represents each portion as 100% writer and 100% publisher.
      ASCAP does this 50% writer and 50% publisher but they mean the same thing.
      Half goes to the writer, half goes to the publisher.
      If you're entering information in Tunecore then you will be working on a 100% scale.
      What percentage of the song did you write out of 100?

      Turecore would only do that If you sign up for the Publishing administration service also. As far as CDB, If you just signed up with CD Baby alone then no but if you signed up with CD Baby Pro (their Publishing Administration), then they would do the same in terms of collecting your mechanical royalties and registering you with the different PROs worldwide to collect any foreign royalties that your songs may receive in other countries. Before TJ signed up with TC Pub Admin , he was saying that he was doing it on his own by sighing himself up with the HFA and/or Music Reports and keeping track of his own music and I think before that he was actually using Songtrust for his Pub Admin, until he did an audit and discovered some discrepancies. Though i had playstation sound for the intro before the song started , but i'm not sure if that's what they were refering too. this is thier reply - This track was demonetized because it does not meet the monetization eligibility requirements. Specifically, it was determined that this track contains a non-exclusive instrumental beat (the term "non-exclusive instrumental" refers to any recording or instrumental that has been made available to more than one party for use, including all "type beat" instrumentals, etc.).
      Please be careful to only submit content for monetization that meets the following eligibility criteria moving forward: What’s the difference between “eligible” sound recordings that I can monetize and “ineligible” sound recordings that I can’t monetize on the TuneCore CZcams Sound Recording Revenue collection service?
      Facebook Music & Instagram Stories .
      Currently, the same song is on all DSP. but not allowed to be monetised on all social media.
      Now, the track was produced by me with no samples - except for the if the playstation sound used as an intro which can easily be removed, could that possibly be the issue, and can i pull the song down and remove play station sound and then re-upload ? or that will be too risky as the issue regarding what sound wasn't specify. what do you suggest i do. though they gave me a link of possibilities of what could have happened see link here - support.tunecore.com/hc/en-us/articles/115006693068

      each band member will need their own account via tunecore then each song will need to be registered with appropriate splits. 1 registration on 1 account may be good enough but you’d have to verify the songs splits are registered correctly via ASCAP or BMI

  • @danithepen

    TJ my questions would be... for the part where it asked you to list "composers" would the person(s) that made the beat and/or co-wrote the song be put in that box? Also for the sync licensing opportunities would your song be considered for use via television, film, or commercial, if you leased a Beat from one of the online producers that we tend to use from time to time?

    • @danithepen
      @danithepen Před 4 lety

      @@wordplaytjay thank you bro... Cuz I don't remember seeing separate slots per contributor (i.e. Songwriter, producer etc) that's why I wanted to check. Yes Man... I figured that trying to get a sync licence on a leased beat with no type of relationship with the actual producer of the beat is bad! This has been a burning ? for me since online beat makers started coming around. Thank you for answering this.
