Carl Perkins "Blue Suede Shoes" live at Royal Albert Hall [MUSIC FOR MONTSERRAT]

This was his last major concert performance on September 15, 1997 during the Music For Montserrat benefit concert at the Royal Albert Hall in London to raise funds for the Caribbean island of Montserrat after a major volcanic eruption earlier that year. He died four months later, on January 19, 1998 at the age of 65 at Jackson-Madison County Hospital in Jackson, Tennessee.

Carl Perkins was marvelous, and a huge influence in music. The Beatles were great admirers of him.
