Ford Courier Mini Fuel Filter Clean

This is in my 2000 Ford Courier 2.7 Turbo, yesterday it starting having issues such as loss of power and the inability to rev above 2000rpm. After talking to a friend we thought it may have been the fuel filter so today i replaced the fuel filter and replaced the air filter but still had the issue. After another search on google i found a picture showing this bolt saying there was another small filter under it so i removed the bolt, spring then filter and it was quite grubby so gave it a good clean with crc and re-assembled it. After doing this it is now back to running well and after a test drive all seems to be back to working order! A easy fix but almost took it to a mechanic because i couldn't think of what else it could be and I'm not a mechanic.

I wonder how many people know about this little filter ?? I changed the big filter and still poor performance , not wanting to rev above 2 k . removed this very small filter and it was chock full of brown muddy junk !!
cleaned and replaced ..... ford now revs freely and goes like a bomb !

Same here I replaced the big filter and the air filter, took a while to work out then found this filter which solved the problem
