I usually fill the filter with diesel, after fitting the water thingy at the bottom, then screw the filter onto the pump housing. It saves a lot of pressing of the little black button!
Please help me! In my ford ranger 2005, where is the engine temperature encoder? I have warm start problem. I think the metering pump is good, the car is dinamic. Have you any idea what's the problem?
thanks for d info.. but I tried a slight different way .. i took off d filter .. drained as much i could.. flipped over n screw on . then unscrew filter n then after reinstall. i blocked exit pipe with hand n pumped until fuel pumped out to ensure air was bleeded

hi I have the same vehicle and I see that air bubbles is coming from the filter to the pump what is causing that? cause my vehicle is revving quite fine then it does not rev pass 2000 rpms what could be happening here?
Prime it up and start it and go for a small ride prime it go for a small ride. Don't worry if it takes a while to start up as there will be air in it still but after going for a small ride it should be all good
Leave the filter housing still on the studs it bolts to (although loosen the nuts so you can get at it) so you can use the to hold it still and use oil filter pliers to turn it making sure your going anti clockwise. Worst case scenario remove the 2 fuel hoses and then take it and put the housing in a vice then jam a big screwdriver through the filter and put a pipe on each end of that to add to the leverage and unscrew it that way.

In the UK we have a shop called Halfords, they sell them, they are called oil filter pliers or something like that. I've owned them about a decade so excuse my poor memory. They are designed to do oil filters but they work really well on the metal canister type fuel filters too.

+Fabian Greaves It will be an air leak somewhere and that could be the cause of the loss of power.
ok,but I discover today that its driving fine but when it comes to a hill I does not rev pass 1500 rpms its a tranny 06 ford ranger

@@DumDum306 I even tried removing it and jamming a large metal rod through it to turn it, it's stuck on there haha
