Why Ford Courier Fuel Filters Are So Weird

2006 ford courier turbo diesel
engine warning light come onto dash indicating water in the fuel filter sedimenter
The fuel sedimenter separates the water from the diesel fuel
It uses the specific gravity difference between the diesel fuel and water to separate the water before the fuel enters the injection pump
I had to Loosen the drain plug of the fuel filter and push the priming pump to drain the water out of the sedimenter
I replaced the plug and the O-ring broke, luckily I had a roofing screw handy..
The car started but was stills sluggish
So I removed the small filter in the injector pump which was gunked up too
it's easy to loosen the drain plug, to access it just use a 12 mm to remove the fuel filter from its mount in the engine bay
A 17mm spanner to crack the injectors after cleaning the filters will purge the air from the fuel system

@@valleycoastlawns thanks, mine was the mini/thimble fuel filter under the banjo fitting spring inside the diesel injector pump/ delivery side.
It was choked right up
