- On today’s episode of That Peter Crouch Podcast, Crouchy, Chris and Sids are back down the CHUMBAWAM-BAR reacting to another massive footballing weekend.
We get the lads’ hot take on the recent VAR and twitter beef controversy that hit the headlines after the Everton v Nottingham Forest game as well as the unbelievable drama that was the Manchester Utd v Coventry FA Cup Semi Final.
With Pete being propelled into first place after a correct score and result last weekend Chris and Sids are feeling the heat and decide to use their Paddy Power boosts to give them a fighting chance.
We also have a surprising contribution from basketball legend and Northampton FC fan Shaquille O'Neal as well as Susie Dent’s hot take on the origin and use of the phrase ‘top bins’ in footy!

Actually crying laughing at the Forest v PGMOL / Eamon and Frankie. Might be the best thing Stark's has ever said/done 🤣
Crying at the Eamon and Frankie Forest/PGMMMOLLLL analogy. Different class
Got to get Dent on the pod
Loving the pod boys!! Keep smashing it!
The comparison of Forest 😂👌🏻nailed it lads 😂😂
Love this Crouchyfest podcast.
You're Smashing It 🫡
Killin it lads 🤙
The Cov & United Fa Cup game is exactly why the fa need to re think on there ridiculous idea of scrapping fa cup replays how is it fair on a team even below cov not getting the chance of playing a big side at there ground and potentially beating them and then progressing the way cov did like its absolute madness that they want to almost punish lower smaller clubs with this decision.
They haven't done replays for semi finals in years. It was at Wembley
@@hyywe240 no i get that but my point was to take away the replays as the competition plays out for smaller clubs is a disgrace
Really you'd only want a replay if it was against a huge club, so maybe having some kind of seeding or financial agreements might work.
With the FA cup replay rule, they should have just agreed that if a big club draws a lower league team, they always play at their ground.
That would then garentee them the profits.
But you might want to play it at the away ground. Going to old Trafford as an example they get 50% of all the gate receipts. Far more than a small club in league 1 and 2 will ever get in 3/4 games.
It’s offside when you initially play it… so if you flick its at the start of the flick
I didnt know that yellow cards were reset on the penalty shootout.
I'm a Portsmouth fan and I couldn't care any less about the FA Cup replay situation. It doesn't really help anyone unless you're a much lower side playing a Premier League and over the past 10 years only 9 games involving a League 2 side or lower has gone to a replay.
With the Premier League side winning every time.
The proposed plan is to share more revenue with all the teams so lower league clubs are not preying for a big reply to keep their club a float.
That's gross mismanagement and not how a business should be run but clubs continue to do it.
A replay is a hindarence to clubs chasing promotion and clubs facing relegation.
The majority of FA Cup replays involve teams only a league apart with League 1 clubs facing championship teams making up the majority of all FA Cup replays over the past 10 years.
These replays never have a full house, they're never picked for TV and in most cases, both clubs wouldn't want them.
When you look at the stats, I can't see any point in FA Cup replays unless once in a blue moon you actually get a underdog not only drawing a top side and then actually making it to a replay.
A-Frame. Or A-Framio 😂
There are stanchions in basketball for many decades as well.
A stantion is a fixed vertical bar or pole used as a support for something, 100% used in far more than just football 🤣
why they stop drinking beer?
Sid couldn’t sound more like a United fan if he tried …….

Pods in the mud
CANTONA?????
Chris should have phoned statman
Biggest disappointment from this episode is the fact the boys haven't seen lord of the rings 😮
Eamon's worst song actually...
Everytime Chris pulls out his phone to show something from 20 year ago I want to die.
Awful isnt it silly BBQC
turned off as soon as you said 'notts forest' in the intro
Get that massive shithouse, Emi Martinez, on this pod. Love a good shithouse!
This bollocks about not being able to celebrate! Fuckin hell that’s a joke.
Antony getting stick all the time, Coventry doing the same to Utd fans.
Hes sticking up for himself and the fans and gets criticised for it.
Have to be very careful about the not celebrating stuff otherwise that will get brought in.
The Uk is soft enough now with the woke stuff.
Killing football celebrations no matter when, who or how you win. It’s a win and should be celebrated
NOTES: Understand you guys are busy and work extremely hard but I think this pod suffers from being recorded at your convenience and not a relevant recording later in the week. I do understand schedules but…….
I'm sure you can just about live with it
Shut up man
How does this even make sense? When its recorded doesn't change anything
I like the pod. The only issue I've got is that they're chained to PP and do them "advert" episodes.
@@J4ckson17he means because of scores. They didn't know the midweek results yet.
As a Coventry Fan im so proud of our team and fans, and at the same time gutted that one of the greatest come backs in fa cup history was ripped away from us by VAR 😢🤦♂️ I really hope now city smash Utd in the final at least its another sky blue team winning it 😂 even if it isn't Coventry 🫡 PUSB LOVE THE POD GUYS 🎉
Coventry got very lucky to get to extra time mate. Mad deflectedgoal and can't believe they gave the penalty on wan bissaka but not on Thomas for the same thing. They will get battered by city though 😂
Offside is offside I’m afraid, VAR just enforces the rules. It’ll be easier to take with the introduction of semi-automated offsides next season though.
@@hyywe240 yeah i agree i think because its a rare thing for us as a club to reach a final we just feel it more but yes i agree if its offside its offside and in some ways i suppose it balanced it out as yes the handball again W.B was not a pen but a s a cov fan in the moment im glad it was 🤣 and yes hopefully Man city will thump them
@@murdotch2484 yeah i agree and i know its there to make sure things are done right but so far alot of the times they have made huge errors and i suppose as i said to the other person it balanced it out as yes the pen against W.B was not a pen but as a cov fan in the moment ill take it 🤣👍🏻
@OJSCollectables oh man, believe me, we all wanted coventry to win. I remember it was only about 4 years ago you were playing against southend in league one. Now you are fighting to get in the prem and southend are in the national league 😔
Petition to remove Chris from the pod, offers nothing and has zero comical output. Crouchy and Sidwell literally don’t laugh at anything he says and haven’t for the past 20+ pods
Don't disagree but seems like he's the editor of it...at least statman dave brought crazy stats
I like Chris. He's a key part and keeps the conversation moving the right way at the right time.
@@subsilkdj just wish he didn't interrupt guests as much
If he had a personality that would be a start
He's the host, he keeps it moving, absolutely grow up
The forest vs Luton 😂
Clearly assumed Everton would lose in the week when they talked about their last win being controversial 🤦♀️ always awkward when recording before big games x
Don't think they assumed anything, their last win was just Forrest at time of recording 😄
@@08killorans I think they did in the sense that nobody expected them to beat Liverpool, so "their last victory" was an easy thing to point out x
Accuracy not precision Susie, come on! Amateur hour
