    I took my CDL A with Manual at West Sac way back in May 2001. Remember your overcrossing clearance heights and distance stopping for RxR crossings for hazmat in case they ask(they did for me). I always emphasize the pre trip, if you can sell the pre trip, the motions and road is a snap.

    • @RATLLC
      @RATLLC  Před 2 lety +1

      To be honest every DMV is different the DMV where I tested they don’t care if you look in your back window but it’s very encouraged to look in your mirrors only in a semi truck you don’t have a back window if you have a sleeper you might have a back window in a day cab so it’s better to train with just looking at your mirrors.

      The best thing to do is go to the DMV and watch what they’re doing how they’re testing and watch the people that are testing you can see if they’re looking in the back window or not and you’ll have more information you can ask instructors over there also for the examiners

    Nice video man!! I’m taking mine in west sac April 5th. The school I’m going to in sac is terrible. Broken down trucks and large classes but I have my pre trip and couplings down real good. And my skills are about 80% good so I’m working on it but the class size and lack of vehicles makes it real tough. I’ve only drove on the road once so far and getting used to the feel and downshifting has me alittle worried since it’s so hard to get the proper practice on the roads. And yes you should be good man but I strongly strongly recommend getting a truck and trailer with air brakes in it. Later on you would want to get a semi truck or a truck with air brakes. And you will have air brakes L restrictions on your license. Which means you can’t drive a semi or a truck with air brakes. I took a second test with a semi truck and had to do everything all over. You don’t want to do that because after fed 7 you would have to pay $7k to just do air breaks.
      Rent a truck and trailer from a CDL school should be $300 for the day and take your test with that. Trust me.
