  • The Volvo XC60 has been a big hit for the Scandinavian brand since this generation’s introduction back in 2018. For the 2022 model year, the XC60 receives a few updates to keep it relevant in a crowded mid-size luxury SUV market.
    The biggest change to the powertrain of the 2022 Volvo XC60 is the introduction of a 48-Volt mild-hybrid system. The electric motor aids in improving fuel economy, smoothness, and a bit of performance. Note, this is not a hybrid vehicle where you can drive on electricity alone for short distances. The engine in this B6 XC60 2022 (formerly T6 designation), it is a 2.0L turbocharged and electric supercharged 4-cylinder. The electric supercharger aids at lower rpms until the turbocharger spools up and it saps much less of the engine’s power than the old mechanical supercharger. Power output is at 295 hp and 310 lb-ft of torque (220 kW / 420 Nm). That’s a drop from 316 hp but an increase from 295 lb-ft of last year’s engine. The electric motor provides 13 hp and 30 lb-ft of torque (10 kW / 40 Nm) when the XC60 is accelerating or to fill torque gaps between gear shifts.
    How much does a Volvo XC60 cost? A base 2022 Volvo XC60 starts at $50,750 CAD ($42,650 USD). This Inscription trim starts at $62,450 CAD ($51,245 USD). After you add on packages and options like this demo vehicle, you’re looking at around $75,650 CAD ($67,040 USD).

    Your production levels and sophistication are quite high and therefore wel appreciated. Better than most other reviewers. Thanks.

      I'd argue that all modern Volvos are the best looking cars right now! Thanks for watching!

    Solid review. Is it available as front wheel drive only with this engine?

      No, not with this B6 engine. The less powerful B5 engine is available in FWD but it's for the American market. Here in Canada, both engines are paired with AWD.

    Thank you. Where are you located? The scenery is beautiful! Do you suggest living in your city?

      Thanks! I live in Vancouver, Canada. It is a beautiful city but it is outrageously expensive to live in. Even the suburbs are starting to get too expensive.

    I own this car and I have no problems getting to anything in my entertainment center quickly and when I accelerate I don’t hear my engine sound like trash it’s just his opinion my opinion is I don’t agree with a lot of stuff that he said the negative stuff I don’t need a whole bunch of buttons

    • @MGReviewsBlog
      @MGReviewsBlog  Před 2 lety

      But having dedicated buttons for certain things like temperature or heated seats is just so much simpler & less distracting when driving. Plus a Mercedes/BMW/Audi 4-cylinder just sounds better. But you're right. It is just my opinion. You don't have to agree with it and I'm not trying to change anyone's mind.
      Thanks for watching.

    Did you get to review the dashboard in this car? I did not see you reviewing the dashboard. It's not just your review but 99% of all reviewers are not reviewing the dashboard in front of the steering wheel for this car. I have seen this car in person and this is the only car in the world in 2022 that is so expensive and YOU CANNOT MODIFY ANYTHING ON THE DASHBOARD. ALL YOU SEE IS JUST THE MAPS AND SPEEDOMETER AND RPM. YOU CANNOT ALTER THE DASHBOARD TO SHOW ANYTHING ELSE. WHY IS NOT ONE REVIEWING THIS PART OF THIS CAR? IF VOLVO TRYING TO HIND ANYTHING HERE?

      Yea I did notice that. I did mention the new display briefly on my written review; interior design section: mgreviews.com/review-2022-volvo-xc60-b6-inscription/
      I don't think Volvo is hiding anything, it's just poor UX design in my opinion.
