A year of development has led to this; A super strong Center Carrier for any IRS application without the need for a lathe. Built from readily available off the shelf parts along with accurate laser cut parts so you can assemble yourself for a fraction of the cost. This is what you have been looking for! I know this because as a builder I've been trying to find this for almost 20 years. Plans below show the required parts with part numbers for a complete IRS setup for 420 or 520/530 chains, .dxf files to upload for laser cutting, measurements for all parts, every single nut and bolt needed for assembly and plenty of pictures and walkthroughs. This setup is appx 56" hub face to hub face and has proven 15" or more of travel without binding. This has been missing for the home fabricators for too long. Enjoy!

For drilling the wheel hubs, I'd suggest making 1 more part to have laser cut. Make a ring that has both bolt patterns on it, sized so that it fits over the M12 studs prior to removing them, and can be used as a drill guide for the M10 hole locations. Since you'd obviously be buying all those laser cut parts to make the center section anyway, what's 1 more?

Thank you. This is as small as I make it, but check out the Facebook build group to see the adjustable pedals and adjustable seat. My 9 year old daughter drives it just as much as I do.

Love these videos. Such great info and great karts. Also for those not wanting to switch from 4x100 golf cart wheels work great too (it’s what I run on my kart) but I think ATV is the better option.

Transfer punch is the way to do the hub bolt redrill. I've done a bunch of them but its a lot easier that trying to use a Sharpie mark and much more accurate.

Just a heads up on bolt pattern. Mini sprint wheels are 4×4 with wheels available from several suppliers that are aven available as wheel halves of any offset and bead locks.
Love it! I gotta old Yerfdog I'm snowmobile swapping and may end up doing one of these IRS rears until I can build a real kart

On bolt circles you go edge to edge then add the diameter of the hole for more precise measurements

The spool will be the first step for me, since I have the tools necessary to complete. My shop press is 12ton though, I hope it’s up to the task.
I’m excited to use the tool for its intended purpose too hahah. I’ve had it for years and it has so many uses, but I never once have used it as a bearing press lol

there are heaps of 14 and 15 inch wheels for the 4x100 pattern, ie suzuki swift, civic etc, i have SSA knock off volks in 15x7 with 32P with 195/55R15 tyres which were both faily cheap, and also fit my trailer so there is ALWAYS a spare tyre!
Those would be sick! I don’t really have anything against car wheels. All of my other karts have atv wheels and I didn’t want to have to buy new sets. And dwt atv wheels are only 6-8 lbs so they are suuuuper lightweight.

Ahhhh I didn’t measure angles, just full travel! They’re good for 15” or more travel.

What tooth rear sprocket did you use on your budget build cart?
It is a 56 tooth but I’m not 100% sure it’s the perfect size. It works well but I don’t know if it could be better.

That definitely explains it. Probably easier on your clutch though. I had to get the 44 magnum clutch but man I love it!
why dont you add a template to align the bolt pattern from the wheel hub to the wheel, instead of eyeballing. and add it to the cut sheets.

Buy a set of transfer punches, you'll discover many uses for them.
Thank you very much! I honestly didn’t know about these. But I did look up one for the size needed and it was $45 bones… that’s a lot to center one punch. I’ll definitely look into it more though and thank you so much 👍🖖
@@KJRaycing Google transfer punch set, they're $20 and up. I've been using a set from Enco (no longer around, but cheap) for 25 years.
