      I think that was the moment he truly started to realise what he was forced to do. He fought alongside Obi Wan Kenobi for years but in the space of a second he had his control taken away and shot down the guy who had risked his life on not just his account but for the whole 212th. Makes you wonder if Cody ever sought out Obi Wan to apologize

Either way Cody did not do anything to save Obi-wan. But I do thing it would have been harder for COdy to resist as he's more by the books then Rex. I honestly really like this interpretation of post-Clone Wars Cody. The old Legends version of Cody was depicted as going all in on the Empire, probably as a way to cope with any lingering guilt he may feel. But to me actually showing Cody grappling with that guilt and all the regret of the war is a nice change that I think really works with how the clones got fleshed out as a thinking, living characters during the Clone Wars show. Here is Cody, the model clone soldier with a record of truly exemplary service and not a single instance of ever disobeying a direct order. And yet even after all that, in the end he decides "F*** this, I'm leaving" because even he's tired of the Empire's hot BS and its treatment of the clones and the people of the galaxy.

      Legends Clones also didn't have the chip. That was something Filoni (MAYBE Lucas too, depending on how far his influence ran in TCW) added that became the new canon.
      Old canon was the clones being conditioned with loyalty primarily to the Republic/Empire and Palpatine. Not everyone stuck with it, but the outliers seemed to be mostly ARCs and Commandos if I recall.

      Plus it is kinda needed for even hardcore fans since the Disney purchase. Disney made so much of the EU non canon and ambiguous for so long. I mean Clone Wars didn't even get to finish. I hate, I hate the Empire with all my being. The disrespect towards the clones who gave their lives for the Republic is absolutely unforgivable. Yes, I know that it was all planned and that they have always been slaves, or rather, puppets in the hands of the Sith, but it really hurt me to see how they were treated at the end of the conflict, both in the animated series and in the films.

    I know Dave wants to use the clone serial numbers to show the clones being dehumanized, but citizens of the star wars galaxy don't even bother calling droids by their full designation which are usually only 2 letter and 2 numbers. So the idea that Imperial officers would say all those serial numbers instead of using names is absurd. Names like Cody and Rex are much more efficient and convenient.

    @aWildMoke Před 6 měsíci +1

    What this show really proved was that the Clones were loyal to the Republic and the inhibitor chips made the Jedi "traitors to the Republic" and forced even those who doubted that claim to turn on the Jedi. But once Order 66 was complete there were no "traitors" who they were brainwashed into killing left and the Republic they were programmed to be loyal to no longer existed. It takes some clones like Crosshair longer to realize that they were played than others but eventually they all started to realize that the Empire didn't care about them and they owed the Empire no loyalty if it wasn't returned.

    This just goes to show how brainwashed they were when Order 66 was given. This combined with Rex's ability to hold off the order from outright taking over his body momentarily shows just how much they didn't want to hurt the Jedi but were given no choice. They were quite literally forced to turn on their allies and quickly too. All the bonds, the jokes, the laughs, they were all genuine. The betrayal and mass murder of the Jedi, was not.

    The one flaw i hated was all the clones knew about the orders non of them thought to much of them but 100% knew what they meant order 66 was a order that meant the jedi order betrayed the republic and most clones went with it because they under what a betrayal meant death to the republic, death to countless lives, and death to them and there brothers. When they put the inhibitor chips into the story It took out so much more weight to it so much potential. Clones questioninf the order and potentiall going through with it even the small few clones thinking it is a enemy transmission infighting among crews so much potential was removed drom the series.
