I've covered early builds of SIREN on the channel before (and they were awesome), but this new build is incredible and features the entire first episode. It's a very intense experience and is packed full of optional content and fun easter eggs (I found the Bethesda one particularly amusing). At the end of the video I've included a link to the very first build I played to show how far it's come!

This has been in development for years. I remember checking it back when it barely had anything. The dude wasted so much of his life on this precious mod Siren.

Obviously the monsters and guns are great, but I don't think I've encountered map design with as much depth as this in a Doom mod before. Multiple routes and different ways to deal with problems, and all those awesome easter eggs! Great work! :)
You cranked up the chunk and crisp dials to 100 for the sound design. I don't think I've heard gurgling and whatnot this pronounced before. Very good. Need more.
@@anotherland2462 To be in the same sentence as Ashes is amazing for me. It's the template of what a Doom TC or Doom/Build engine style game in Gzdoom can be. Great ambition, scale and scope for expansion and made by people who care. The example is set right there.

Those enemies are FAST. It's like if Doom 3 on Xbox was as fast paced as the original Dooms, but gives you an atmosphere somewhere between FEAR and Half Life.

This is one of the few projects (mod, game, etc.) that I have been constantly staying up to date with. It's an amazing master work.

Been itching for a while to do mapset designed specifially for this modpack cause it sure is deserve recognition. Siren is one of the good ,unique and fun to play packs for Gzdoom. Props to Dithered output for his work on the mod and campain.

The monster closets and seeing 'Phobos' immediately reminded me of Doom 3. Honestly this game looks a lot fun. Has a lot of mood and exploration.

Wow this was actually really good! Level design, creatures, and atmosphere were great! I especially liked the music that plays during heavy firefights.

Seleco is actually getting a full release on steam next year. its not a mod, its a standalone game.
But that does not mean that you cannot add voxels here 😊 It would be a ton of work, though. Anyway, game looks amazing as it is.

I don't know if the settings in this game has the option, but if you can, try setting the sprites to tilt to the camera when looking up or down. This helps maintain the illusion of 3D, and also makes the game look significantly better when aiming at enemies from an elevated position.

Interestingly I downloaded this and played for a few minutes, and right at the beginning apparently, I found a completely different area to go to (plus I'm lost af now lol) that's all-industrial Alien-like and steamy and stuff. Multiple branching locations in a "demo" of Doom TC/mod? Nice stuff!
I've loved every version of this game so far. Keeps getting better. Shame the Dev has no interest in making it a full commercial release.

Just as good as Ashes 2063. Not so big, but it has its own place. The environments kinda remind me of classic Doom 3, which is amazing. Immersive AF. You know, after Ashes 2063 and Siren, I start to believe actual Fallout open world games first person view can be made in GZDOOM. Yes, its possible and it would literally shit on entire gaming industry.
I dream of fallout 1 and 2 being remade (reimagined?) in first person. Doesn't have to be super graphical fidelity, this would absolutely work.
Ashes and it’s expansion and it’s sequel are literally top tier gaming. They already put the entire industry to shame just by themselves.
And the Aliens mod is probably one of the best games on the engine I’ve played besides Ashes
Few days back I asked Ashes 2063 dev if he is working on next entry in the series, he said yes. Its been years since last Ashes game and its probably already in the end development cycle. Pretty sure we are getting new trailer either this Christmas or next year!@@ghost-user559
@fleshworm Fallout 2 is being remade by molders in the Fallout 4 engine but also the Duke Nukem aka Build engine. The Build version looks just like classic F2 in fps.
This is how I pictured the original Doom in my head the first time I played it as a kid :)

Yeah, it's a superb mod! Tense atmosphere, cool guns, great monsters and very impressive level design. Between Siren, Trenchfoot CountryCide and Divine Frequency, horror Doom total conversion mods are really slaying it!

Haha, yeah I was pressing E. There seemed to be an issue with a lack of reach (not sure if it's an issue with the GZDoom settings or the mod). I'll get those Skittles some day though! :)
I love games like this… i think there’s still a need for survival horror… that’s why remakes like re4r did so well (regardless of how you feel about it). And why indie games are still on still on top.
Horror genre are the best genre. Its not just a video games, its way of life.
An impressive mod. It's kinda 50/50, 60/40 on its hiding of the Doom engine's problem with object scale and polygonal detail, but there's some cool stuff here.
I wanna know the story/lore behind this japanese ghost girl that haunts you in this timestamp 1:35:34 , pretty interesting how it got here considering everything else is nightmarish demon

Really enjoy this mod. It's atmospheric, the level design is great, and the weapons feel satisfying. Enemy damage could use a little refinement -- the hit scans are way to punishing when the game can't be played like Blood. I also think the invincible gas monster is overused and frankly just leads to a bit of frustration. The payoff in map 1 was underwhelming for it, and I wasn't terribly happy to see it appear again after.
All-in-all though, it's an incredibly well designed mod. Looking forward to seeing how it develops over time.
It's crazy cuz this person is making a full on great game that if it wasn't a mod, they could have actually sold as a legit release.
