This was a really interesting little survival horror game that starts off like a Resident Evil-like, but then takes some very cool twists (it’s not just another zombie story). Also, the combat system is pretty cool and the game features permadeath and any of your team can die. If one of your 6 teammates dies then you can switch to another one and carry on where the dead teammate left off. The different characters also have unique skills that can aid your progress.
Ok, so how does that work? You can pick the wrong person in the wrong order and hardlock yourself? Do the characters die at preprogramned spots like the chief with the lightning or does that happen only if ypu pick them at the right time?
What happens if you kill off a character at a wrong time? Can't progress because only the demolition expert can handle the grenade launcher properly? Clearly you couldn't progress with hackerman dead or without the herb packs.
So the coins reset the dead char roster?
Sounds like the game Sweet Home
@@AntipaladinPedigri Any character can die anywhere (not just traps, but combat encounters too) and you can avoid the traps (except for the first 2 deaths before the game starts properly and the toxic gas death). The only person you need to be alive to get the real ending is the hacker guy (to disable the firewall). Things like the herb packs and weapon upgrades aren't necessary to complete the game but can aid you.
First two so shooty kabooty, Ashley, I am actually in kahooties with the big bad, and the boulder dash? So... you let Downs be splattered like a fly and Chief get frankensteined on purpose? :D
I really dig the style of the first alpha/beta release you showcased. Is there any way to play that version or a way to toggle the artstyle?
That sudden switch to a first person was actually really good😮
Resident Evil: Gaiden
Or maybe it would be better like Parasite Eve?

I love it when the indies take influence from those "quirky" designs.
Lieutenant Downs huh, funny dev, I'll give it that
There really is a Resident Evil-inspired renaissance recently.
Probably because of all the recent remakes of the classic _Resident Evil_ games.
Everyone is making Resident Evil games but Capcom.
Civilians wicked
Renaissance Evil
which games?
8:02 "The blood trail leads where I came from, I should follow it!"
ABG: *immediately goes the opposite way*
Sanest horror protag ever.
Combat system kicks ass in this, I love it. Reminds me of House of the Dead, just how it looks.
The entire game is inspired by Resident Evil Gaiden for the Game Boy Color except now you have direct control with your aim instead of a QTE slider during combat.
... So resident evil survivor@@DarkZerol
Resident Evil Survivor...
I love House of the Dead!
"DON'T OPEN THAT DOOR!"
Dr. Olsson thought the cupcake was disgusting? You know she's evil!
"You will die here tonight!"
Me: "Ok." *walks back through the door that was blasted open 10 minutes ago*
"Wait! Come back! Crap, we forgot about that!"
9:49 I love her scowl at the piano refusing to fix her horrid piano playing skills, like "you will pay for this, piano!"
Holy shit, this is literally Resident Evil Gaiden that's obvious took place in RE1's mansion! That's pretty neat
And apparently _good,_ something that Gaiden definitely couldn't pull off.
@@cigoLxeL To be fair, Gaiden was made on the Gameboy Color. And there's only so much you can do with that colored brick (Although I honestly never finished that game to begin with)
@@frds_skce the difference between this and gaiden was it uses the HOTD shooting mechanic.
The funny thing is it could also be considered Sweet Home inspired, the very game that inspired RE, since it too had a perma death system for your party
This Resident evil gaiden looks nice❤
The idea of multiple character deaths is like another game called *Song of Horror*
Deaths
33:11 59:49 1:32:14 1:42:32 2:01:49 2:16:35
so death events feel scripted, who you pick first will die, or perhaps there is a order that can save everyone.
a problem with the immersion of this though is there are too many characters, which makes it even more obvious they do not exist in a living state, i find the doctor while playing as the male soldier after she died. but if you didn't play as her first it seems you wouldn't find her anywhere.
there is no feeling of someone else is here doing things. only the character the player controls is doing anything and exists. excluding those who were used and died already.
is there no in game map of the place?
fantastic game, the art, gameplay and story were well done. though it was a bit obvious after the first time she was alive and had memories if prior events that it would either be clones with implanted memories or Virtual reality.
I don't want to spoil you, but the game is pretty linear. The death are not script if you know all trap and enemies before hand, you can solo one character run to the ending.
There is an in game map in the menus. It works a bit like RE1 map that shows what areas have not been explored/cleared. And which ones have been cleared.
This looks great! Visually stunning, might have to give it a try
This video was pretty great. Thanks for playing this game!
Is this a spiritual successor to RE: Gaiden? I remember that game being actually pretty fun.
The original demo which used all 2d art and a lot more stock sound effects actually had combat more like Gaiden, sorta turn based precision timing combat. Glad they mixed some HOTD into this too!
Good watch, I am looking forward to playing this
Player: Tell me you are a huge Resident't Evil fan without telling me that.
- Devs creates "You Will Die Here Tonight"
I love how they made Rebecca a cool young woman instead of a high school nerd
I don't like how they took away Barry's dad energy though. And also they took like 50 points off his IQ.
Either that, or... all I can think of is he got knocked pretty hard in the head?
Yeah, there's stupid and then there's :"Fire burns, fire bad !" or whatever he says 😂
@@Eisenwulf666 To be fair, he's not wrong. Fire hot, it burn, fire bad, grug run.
Regarding the full video; given that Aries is a cloning program, do you think it's possible that clones develop issues or degrade, hence his speech pattern?
Nah, That dollars store chris redfield guy is also a barry too if you using him interact with weapons branch.
Love the game! Downs got to my nerves in the beginning with his quips, but you get used to it pretty quickly. It's neat how all of the characters have different personalities and reacts to things slightly differently
Goddamn I love those pre rendered sprites. So crispy
I highly enjoyed this. Thank you. Reminds me of RE Gaiden a little bit with the FPS perspective in battle. ✌️🤝✨️
Wow! Very simple yet extremely innovative gameplay!
Loved this! :D
So cool to see what people come up with!
Super fun and Unique on it own. It's like Resident Evil 1 Aesthetic and Gaiden combined together.
Reminds me of the RE1 DS port when you enter certain combat scenarios, it would go into first person as well.
Really really Awesome work❤
Loved Signalis, want to play this now.
Nice!!!!
Never though someone would use the Resident Evil Gaiden for the Game Boy Color as a template to make this awesome looking game, wow!
Nice
Great video 🔝👍
looks amazing
Resident Evil Gaiden 2 like. Super hype to play this myself in the future!
It was cool, the gameplay seens decent and the story use the plot-twists nicely.
This game was amazing, got the true ending in about 6 or 7 hours. I'm really hoping they add more unlockables or just a way for me to feel like all my powering up meant something
Wow I really like how they will show you an enemy awaken etc while you could be in the next room.
6:38 "Biohazard" heh
Surprisingly solid game, to the point where I'm kind of bummed I watched the whole thing here. Ah, c'est la vie. I'll buy it and play it...at some point.
Holy crap, there are so many bosses in quick succession.
I love the first person. It takes me back to the Gun Survivor/Rail Shooter era that to this day still feels underutilized. I feel like the top down view makes you feel safer, and then the first person view just forces you to feel really uncomfortable. Same way Fatal Frame did it, except more like the first game than the weird blue people from the later ones.
0:15 did the suspect also cut off his ear during a surge of despair and madness?
Gogh figure
Looks like his life wasn't all sunflowers and starlit nights.
nice, interesting combat mechanic
Wow, what a mansion.
buenisimo che, me parece un excelente juego.
I was thinking about picking this up but the video thumbnail has convinced my arachnophobic ass to pass it up. I'll still recommend it to others though.
I love how the computer switches to caveman speech when interacting with Eric, that's hilarious.
The basement part with Skeleton- Zombies, looks like a Diablo Dungeon.
I know it's based more on RE Gaiden and the original RE, but the perspective made me think more of games like Baldurs Gate, Torment, Fallout 1/2 and Diablo tbh.
Interesting gameplay mechanics
4:38 "A dining room"
Well well
Haha, Hi man! Have you been playing this too?
Resident Evil, House Of The Dead, and Clue all in one… very interesting game indeed!
I love it buying immediately
This is so cool. Just randomly found it via your channel. Not sure how this one got by me.
Mike is awesome.
those first person shoter moments remind me a lot to the resident evil DS
The first-person perspectives strongly remind me of _The House of the Dead._
What an awesome game
Reminded me to Resident Evil Gun Survivor and Resident Evil Gaiden
this is perfect for gpd & aya neo and whatnot
The new resident evil game looks lit
Ok im sold on the game after 10 minutes of seeing the gameplay.
I only wish the animations were SOMEWHAT smoother, but it looks great overall. Might pick it up.
Well waking up I can see why my dream wasn’t pleasant
It definitely reminds me of that Resident Evil Gaiden.
Its basically like Resident Evil Gaiden, which was a rather unique concept but most likely forgotten.
oooh this gives me Martian Gothic feels
This is like a modern take of Resident Evil: Gaiden, which everyone should play because for a GBC game it is actually pretty fun and feels like an RE game. The ending is canon btw : ^ )
If you meant that Gaiden game is canon, it is not. It contradicts key events in other series and it's events are never mentioned and ignored by the other games.
God i love isometric style games
IM SO MAD HE DIDNT USE THE MAGNUM ON THE BOSS AND IMMEDIATELY AFTER STARTS SHOOTING THE LITTLE ONES WITH IT
22:41
Nice Silent Hill 2 reference. lol
What a cool game.
Throw Resident Evil 1, Resident Evil Gaiden, The House of the Dead and Sweet Home in a blender and come up with this You Will Die Here Tonight juice. So yeah, inject it into my veins right now.
RE Gaiden with aiming system, awesome!
I wonder if the line at 1:06:46 is a fun little jab at Resident Evil and similar games having sometimes strange ways to unlock doors
Probably
I just realized that the skeleton zombies in the dungeons could be the past versions of the Aries experiment that either died in the mansion and turned or were just turned and discarded and probably used upstairs as butlers and maids.
Just the thought of hundreds or thousands of clones of yourself infected by a zombie virus and suffering away in silence is a very disturbing and messed up outcome.
👏👏👏👍 facial expressions
5:30 (saving my spot but I actually might buy this)
It's a wonder how Eric even became a lieutenant to begin with
are all the fights first person?
I cannot understand how indie deve have more creativity than major video game companies... Look how smooth the gameplay in this game is... Amazing.
You can understand if you think about it. An indie dev wants to create an experience for you, major companies are very corporate and are more interested about milking you for every penny you have. They aren't happy about making money, they have to take every penny you have off you to show share holders.
this just a copy of resident evil games how is this "creative"
2023 and this concept is still one of the best
Beautiful game
Cool game, gets a bit overlooked but 2023 was a strong year for games to be fair.
If this had come out on the DS it would have been a bestseller
I love everything about this game, my only complaint is the scrolling text sound fx. It’s annoying.
The game is good but I wished they kept some of the events from the demo’s. Like the poison trap or characters waking up in random locations.
Holy crap can you even get a more Spanish name than Javier Rodriguez lol.

I can't believe that WE were the Director all along
33:27 - And The Darwin Award goes to Dr. Katherine Olsson 😂
I have a feeling that like the evil within they're in some sort of simulation or someones mind or like soma their consciousness trapped in some sort of machine and they are all linked to it reliving the horrific events unfold again and again can't escape
How did you get that intro?
When I see a giant spider I'll be like "Nope" 😨
Reminds a lot of the Gameboy Resident Evil or gun survivor
2:36:34 Guess we know who the 'you' referred to.
man this indie is a combo of mechanic... 360 rail shooter, adventure, pseudorpg... and some parts have similarities to RE Gaiden
has resident evil creators gived some patent up or why there are so many re inspired indiegames now
I wish they port this to Xbox. Love the concept and execution.
So, if it was all a simulation, then they were dying, but never really died. And no one died in the first place, right?
