As a football fan, not English, I remember World Cup in South Africa. The wibe in England was as usually in all tournaments: thousands of lions in a country, flags "its coming home" all over the streets, media, pundits telling "it's time to deliver". But then it all finished very quickly and badly...and streets became empty suddenlly. That's why I agree with James, that maybe Southgate got unified England fans, got them hopes to be again proud of their team on international level, hoping to really win Euros. I only witnessed South Africa campaign.

Bellingham is superb player and justifiably confident in his abilities, hence not only going to Real Madrid, but see what he has done in his first season at the biggest, most pressurized club in the World!
But Jordan he has got a narkey side to him, I saw a clip yesterday, he's playing for Dortmund, there's break on and the midfielder gets the pass 1m short to Jude, he throws a strop, waving arms shouting at the player for the bad pass, then you can clearly see him saying the player was $**t!
I've never seen a player shout out to his team mate on the pitch, during a game, for the cameras to relay and the fans to hear, that he was $**t!
Also when he scored that overhead kick to rescue ENG, he says to the fans, "Who else!".
In other saying to his team mates, none of you could have done this.
Guarantee Watkins, Toney, Saka, Palmer could have done that techique.

The problem for me is that fans and pundits sell themselves on the idea of a sportsmans credentials. When they're proven wrong they will throw said player under the bus. When the truth is they should be criciticed for having no semblance or rationality when accessing players actual abilities. Ill be honest i dont think Saka is exceptionally skilled or a great crosser or passer of the ball, but what he is...he has good mental strength, is fairly strong on the ball, can finish and makes good runs. He is what he is, no more no less. Thats my point...take players as they are not how you percieve them. Rice is what he is, he's an exceptional ball wining 6 if you want a ball winner. He's no more than that though. This idea hes an 8 is highly questionable for me. Where his ability to score or particularly good passing range to create if you're not a goak scorer? It doesn't exist with Rice. He can advance foward but he always goes square. Im not slating him because i rate him. He just is what he is though.

When you take it all into consideration, what he started with when he took over to what he's walking away from, he's definitely left things in a better state than he inherited.

Once again, we can trust Lee to call it out and speak straight!
Kneelgate's tactics threw away that Euro20 final v Italy.
Then brings on 2 young players to take PENS, who didn't even kick the ball yet.
Fair play to Saka for not letting that whole experience get to him and his game.
Get lost Jordan about Kneelgate is a leader, just because you've met him and he's a nice guy, so what!
After the 1st dreadful Euro game, he pines for his 'Kalvin-Comfy' blanket, that's some leader you got there, or you've rewritten the definition of that very word.
You sound like a member of the FA manager appointing commitee.
What trophy did his touch-feely-kneely media PR get the team/country?
And that's despite having 3 back2back spookey-Flukey draws and a home final, with a packed roaring Wembley.
If he was this leader you say, why was a clearly unfit, grossly underperforming Kane played in every game?
Looks like Kane was the leader, as no of the Elite managers would've put up with that version of Kane, especially with Watkins & Toney getting splinters on the bench.
Venables is the last ENG manager that took the team to the max, gallantly & narrowly loosing to PENs to a great German team, who won it.
28 flipping years ago! Then 34yrs back to Robson.

To continue selling the project you have to have results(trophies) otherwise players will eventually stop believing and check out.Liverpool won the league and the Champions league and that proved to players that Liverpool was the place to be.

Talking about Englands team selection is pointless. They got to the final and was managed poorly. Why take another lb Shaw was fit for the final. Why take maguire? Our defense was fine. The only issue was how he managed the squad he had at his disposal

Around the 31 minute mark you guys are so on. I grew up in Jam. supporting German football from age 8 and always argued with the English supporters that England had one world class mid who gets into any team in all its years. Scholes. Jamaica which has the England DNA has the same issues today. A dearth of Midfielders who are as strong defensively and offensively. Yet you hear and see the call for and attempts to play 4:3:3
    With what?!!!
Southgate set up his team to force Spain back in the finals. I've always found that thinking faulty - to play offense as defense against an ultra attacking team. It never works. Its fire against fire but the greater fire will always win. Four mids ( 3 attacking profile) and your 3 CBs are 1:1 90% of the time. That's laughable. That's being in a worse position than starting straight up honest (4 back). I became an England fan after WC 2014. The squads have been used poorly, without trust of everyone. These modern English players are playing in the top clubs in the world. Let any of them go play. England will win. Need a style of play, needs legitimate midfield presence/control. You have those players to the wazoo in the academies now, in youth level. Find the coach.
