- Fallout 76 - Does The Handmade Make A Good Sniper Rifle?
The handmade is my favorite commando weapon but does it work well for a rifleman build? Let's find out.

I agree, very versatile guns. A lot of the time when I'm using something very slow like BPRs or levers I'll carry a Vampires handmade as the backup rifle just for the ease of quickly firing if I get into trouble.
Same here. I have a Vamp fixer with FFR for that.
When I think of a "sniper" weapon I don't think vats crit build. You might as well just make it automatic and do that. Quad Handmade is my every day now on all my characters, but I wouldn't call anything without a scope a sniper rifle.
I think I'd probably agree. Substitute rifleman for sniper.
The Handmade is my second favorite, favorite is my RWR (god-roll). Have a Bloodied / Commando / Stealth / VATS / Crit build and the Handmade and my RWR are my 2 main weapons. Handmade for stealth and the RWR mainly for events like Eviction Notice / Jamboree / Guided meditation and so on. Love the Handmade way more then the Fixer but that is personal.
I wish they did buff sniper rifles in general but not sure how they would to make it balanced
Like perfect headshot which cripples the head might cause an insta kill (excluding bosses, and certain npcs)
Laser rifle is another good choice for rifleman build. Long barrel provide 200 range - something that an automatic barrel does not provide(only 120 range). Overall good for VATS rifleman build.
Would love if this was the case on ballistic weapons as well, changing from automatic to manual would increase range. Now we have scopes that has better range than the rifles.
I have a couple of AA VHC -# Railways I use. One is auto. One is single fire Prime for sniping. It destroys most everything.
Great Vid, Ty so much. i use a Vamps HM, 25 capacity, suppressed as my main sneak weapon and have for prob a year now. my back-up is a Vamps Fixer, 30 capacity, FFR... its wicked when i need it ;) Cheers.
I have a AA/50V/STEALTH handmade 90 damage per shot
The handmade has the lowest recoil of all the rifles. So, couple that with a stealth build with Stablized arms and a large night vision scope, you can blast away
Sadly the way Fallout 76 is with it's end-game content, noone is ACTUALLY going to take any semi rifle, and I so mean bolt action, lever action with a long scope trying to pick out targets from actual long distance, while in sneak, and clear out an outpost of enemies. In 76 this is not possible, because it just doesn't make sense.
End-game content is either bosses or events, in both cases VATS auto guns, or heavy guns, explosives greatly overperform what a semi rifle could output. In Fallout 4? Sure, plenty of named locations with enemies outside the building that can take a few sneakattacks from a trusts sniper and a long recon scope.
A rifleman VATS build is not bad by any means but it's not really sniping. It's just a little slower than commando handmade, but deals more damage per round.
A sniper is a person. Only fortnighters refer to a riffle as a "sniper"
