I have always loved my Gatling lasers. I have gotten a few people to use them when I explained the benefit you get from the faster fire rate. You can use almost empty cores to make a bunch of full prime cores. You just need to drop the full charged cores first. Yellow flux is very cheap and easy to get, so prime cores are 1000% worth using for all Gatling lasers.

@@stormierbody8419 probably not. I honestly haven't tried yet.
Just to add, Prime capacitor is what I use as with all ammo crafting perks, you can craft 9 prime cores with only 2 fusion cores, plus the added benefit of not depleting all your fusion cores when you use Power Armor
One side perk of making it Prime is the sheer amount of ammo you can make at once. 2 cores and 1 flux becomes 7-9 cores. That's a lot of ammo per craft and require less core farming.
Awesome video, Turtle. I've carried a Vampire's +50% Damage while aiming UGL for a while now, and they are great weapons. Don't use it as much now because of Fusion Core usage with my PA, but really happy to see they are being given some love. Used to be one of my go-to weapons for Daily ops.

I have BFFR with charging barrel and B25WA with regular barrel. They do the job :)
I got an aa ffr ultracite gatling lazer really early on and I was so excited to see that charging barrels work the same with ffr as fo4
I like using my primed anti-armor/faster fire rate UGL(normal barrels) at Eviction Notice with the beam focuser on. It removes the lasers like you mentioned but it's easier for me to stay on target vs. using a gauss minigun for example or dealing with the recoil of a gatling plasma. It does a surprising amount of damage if you can keep hitting headshots! :D

I love my vamps faster fire less AP cost. I put charging and severe with a heavy crit build and it is amazing. Great utility for keeping me and allies alive. No ammo carry since I use cores for PA anyways. I have yet to find a more versatile weapon for range, dps, heals, and ammo management

If u practise it and time it well, u can make use of the first person charging barrels bug and make the fire rate extremely fast
Been using V2525 n V50vhc25 ugl since two years ago. Great Vats heavy option with the charging barrel.
Regarding the rapid burst with the first few shots of the charging barrels, you can actually tap/pulse the trigger just right to repeat that rapid fire rate over and over while firing.
yes it does a lot of damage if you’re able to consistently do it

Here is why Prime Receiver is best for UGL: you can turn one fusion core into 8 ultracite fusion cores. Ammo is never a problem with this receiver.

I've been wanting to give the gatling laser a try for quite some time now. Is there any combination or mods/legendary effects that would make this either close to or up to par with the gatling plasma as a coffee/nuka dark spamming boss killer? Or should I just stick with my plasma? 😅

The burst at the beginning of the Charging Barrel is useful. It like 4-5 shots.

I'm level 247 right now so I can only do so much, but I'm currently diving deep on a gauntlet build (that I learned from you, thank you!). I do wish it was easier to try different weapon builds outside of melee without losing all my mutations.

I have a vampire version and aristocrat version of the ultracite Gatling laser and even though the aristocrat should have 50% higher damage it has the same damage output. Am I doing something wrong? (I have Max caps)

I know this video is a bit old, but what perks would you say I should use to extend it's power outside of just heavy guns perks since we lost access to explosive
My heavy uses Power User, so new fusion/plasma cores always go to 999 anyway.
I only use Charging Barrels with +25% weapon speed.

Hey this is a super random question, but i wanted to know if you had the jack o lantern skin for the fixer and if you could make mine into one for me, it’s a good roll so i have major trust issues with giving it to others but you’ve been a great person to the community and i trust you lol.
I try to keep a focused in all of my character's stash's. I only use it for the robot event "Test Your Metal." Otherwise I just run around with The Fixer and have a fun evening.
I don't run the charging barrels for maximum spray and pray. Full health, vampire, and not prime. Super tanky. Trying to chew through 100+ fusion cores.
Update: crafted and rolled a new 3*, AA, +25% weapon speed, weapon break 50% slower... (happy dance). Off to give it a run.
Grate videos as always, one question in your videos you can see the change in MOD as a % (ie +35% Hip-Fire Accuracy) not just up and down arrows? dose anyone know how this is done? I am a PC user. Thanks

Question, do you have to kill a certain ammount of enemies in order to unlock the ultracite benefit? As today dec 25th i was at an event in a mine with my vampire gatling laser and all of a sudden it started to shot green lasers, now the name has "ultracite" in it and even uses ultracite to repair it. It may be a bug tho.

I play this weapon almost always and it's a real monster. just no one plays it right.
you have to play it in full unyielding with a 32 luck build and put the card in to have a chance to restore the action points after a kill, plus 100 crit and VoIP reduced raw. you also absolutely need the vast 25, + magazine l&l3 and all the suitable soups and the sa becomes one of the best weapons in the game. on most vents it will be even better than the q5025 nails. just on bosses you will need coffee to maximize this damage.

Yes but no . because yes you can have the 32 luck but you will have less in all the other stats so you will have less pa than in uniyelding and especially OK for the bosses but you are not going to use nuka dark in all the vents and for the slightest kill that you will use in game. with unyieldind you are effective in all circumstances but yes on the other hand you lose penetration in power armor
On console you can take advantage of that quick burst of fire with the charging barrel if you just release the trigger a bit a squeeze it again
This is increase DPS, it didn't do this before, but does now n I love it

If I could get either bloody or anti armor with vampire and weapon speed or health I would be set
I think there are benefits for using the GL (Red Laser ) which are more weapon speed/FireRate and Accuracy compare to Ultra-GL which offers more Damage and Range Distance.
That and the mods are easier to come-by.
The GL and UGL are exactly the same except for the damage (and beam color). If you see a difference in stats (outside of damage) it's from a legendary effect or they're using different mods.
It's the laser gun and it's Ultracite variant that has a difference in damage and attacks speed.

the bug with the charging barrels combined with the faster fire rate makes this gun insane. i’ve been using this exact build and the first person bug burst is crazy damage.
Is there something with the besm focuser? It shoots invisible lasers or that's how it should work?

If it didn't change ... vendors at Watoga, events in bog area or by scrapping the weapon. I would also try Whitesprings Vendors.
Lots of low level crafting and scrapping will get you the charging barrels mod. I did that for a bit myself

@@JamesTheAxeThrower You get it from events in the Cranberry Bog, but I believe the odds are low. I'd recommend spamming events like Distant Thunder or any of the other events you may see there and you'll end up getting it eventually

I have a regular gatling laser with AA and Fire Rate and it a great heavy weapon. Easy to farm ammo as well.
Get electric absorption and you’ll never need to farm for it lol I’ve been using the same 10 fusion cores daily in rotation for 3 weeks now not even using my fusion core recharger anymore

Did the ammo capacity get nerfed recently? I have the same weapon mods and my capacity is only 1200.
So does the extra ammo not work on regular gatling lasers? The weapon card says 1200, but full cores immediately drop below 999 for me on Xbox.

As someone who doesn't even carry power armor, most heavy guns are worthless TO ME.
I've sold what many heavy-gun-PA-users players would consider God Rolls for just a few thousand caps.
I'm bloodied melee build and I've had G-roll chainsaws sit in my vendor for weeks at 5K caps.
I had an AA and a Bloodied, both with increase damage while not moving (one with +1 Endurance, one with +1 Strength) sit in my vendor for 2+ weeks.
I eventually decided I'd rather just keep them if no one else thought they were worth 5K 🤷♂️

@@AngryTurtleCurrently I have equipped the 3 heavy gunner perks at rank 3, but my Gatling laser only does 77 damage when using the charging barrel. My Gatling plasma (without any mods) does 89 damage with a much higher fire rate. Is there something else I need to do to get more damage with the Gatling laser?
Gatling laser used to be my main choice of weapon for the longest time. before i got sick of the ammo weirdness. Never once reloaded the gun manually. only when it ran fully out. and yet every time without fail the last 10 or so cores some how would be at 2 or 3 charge.
Same here. Stopped using mine about a year ago now. Got so annoying, check how much ammo...oh plenty, 700 or so, go to shoot enemy, nope, 0 and now we reload. WTF!
@@themc3311 YES THAT TOO omg that was even more annoying. would just randomly start reloading like "i just put a new core in what". gun was literally gaslighting me.
breaking point for me was doing a silo. had 30 cores according to the UI and felt good. got to the control room with 26 left. first had 750 shots in it. the rest diddnt even have a full 200 combined. was literally beating back the robots with a tire iron to finish it

Hey turtle, whats the best option if I dont wanna benefit from friendly fire and cant afford ultracite cores? I just started this game 16 days ago and I managed to hit 200 lvl thanks to double weekend thing but still I am not happy with severe beta wave tuner. Also I dont have FFr in my Bloodied ugl so Im on true long barrels right now. Is severe/TrueLongBarrel best option in my situation?

@@AngryTurtle Nope. I have like farmed nearly 100 fusion cores but seeing that core on the power armor drains so fast with vats just hurts my feelings :( I would rather to switch commando build if I want to use vats i guess

My GL now only holds 500 rounds, no matter what changes I make. It was working fine until today.
Haven’t found the plan for this and no one seems to have it either which tells me that there obviously can’t be a plan for it otherwise people would have it

Anti armor faster fire rate prime charging ultracite gatling laser is my go to for a long range heavy gun. Recoil is basically non existent and i don't use power armor.
This video saved my bacon! I ruined my Gatling laser without realising.
I'm running around hunting spooky scorched with bows. It's really strange to see how many arrows drop from enemies after you loot them.

The Gatling Laser is such a weak pile of chit compared to Fallout 4, even when I had a TSE Gatling Laser it was weak
Where is content Bethesda? I’m starting to realize we’re never gonna get. A truly big update. Small updates with half promises don’t give me wrong. I love this game, but the updates have been very lackluster for the past year.
