    Are you chasing higher and higher resistance numbers just to be more tanky? If so, you are going about it all wrong. The resistance numbers from your armor are the least important thing.

    I mean, when I went from mismatched armour to SS armour I went from dying every time serendipity failed to proc, to dying every 8th time serendipity failed to proc which honestly makes a huge different. Numbers might not be the be all end all, but they do matter

      For normal armor it does in fact make a difference. It’s POWER armor where numbers don’t matter. Even excavator, easily the worst one in the game state-wise, turns you into a face-tanking monster with a proper build.

      Hellcat is great since you get the full set for free after finishing steel reign, the direct ballistic damage mitigation is the main selling point.

      Its because health of players dont change as they lvl or anything which means enemy damage doesnt change a whole lot. I did a test the last few days on it( on my youtube community) which confirmed that for every piece of gear you have on around 50 resisance Equals 2 less damage from an enimies firearms. Ironclad is the same, equals 2 damage reduction. There is also a minimum damage cap of about 2 damage ( an enemy can not do less than 2 damage). Power armors 7% reduction pretty well brings you to this cap.

    according to the data online the difference in resistances matters and you feel a GREAT impact up to 100 resistance, then its still pretty good until 350 which is the soft cap. From there you barely notice a difference but there is until 500 which is the quasi hard cap at which point you get the most reduction from resistance. The actual hard cap is 1000 but only specialised suits can give you one resistance that high and the difference to 500 isnt that big either.
    Power armor is a must for tankiness a you get a natural 35% damage reduction + potential 30% more from overeaters bonus.
    At that point you could go for emergency protocolls fdor another 50% at which point youll take less than 1 damage from most attacks

    Sure, you can perk into damage mitigation and ignore armor values, but the opposite is also true. You can perk more into damage dealing while specifically targeting native armor values/mods/legendary effects. You could take Heavy Leather armor for the native increase in energy resistance and take Barbarian, for instance; or use Chems/Food/Mutations to cover for any deficiencies while keeping your Perks open for more variety.

    Another great video ! So , Ive been a low health / OverEater Union/Hellcat build for about 400 levels . ( im level 610 now) About 200 levels ago i swapped to a PowerArmor / Unyielding SecreService build . I would put on the PA in any event . Here recently i tried a SecretService combination of - 3 pcs Unyielding , 2pcs OverEaters . That seemed to work pretty good .. So then i just went to a full set of OverEater SecretService armor ( with all of the perk cards for regular armor ) and I legit do not need my PA unless its in a nuke zone . From someone who is used to standing in the middle of the spawn point at Eviction Notice and being able to just sit my controller down and tank everything , The OE SS armor is amazing . Of course its not THAT tanky .. But im a close up / Run and Gun kind of player and i hardly ever go down . Perk cards are way more essential with normal armor than it is with PA and it took me basically 500 levels to realize this .

Frankly Vampires is wasted on a Unyielding build as Bloodied allows you to kill things. Only reason that Unyielding+Vampires worked in the video was the double laser turrets. Slower bigger packets of damage would have destroyed him.... Bears, Ghouls, Scorched beasts, etc. Then add in poison damage, fire, explosives, Rads... a lot of factors he did not touch on.

  • @jamesphillips3135
    @jamesphillips3135 Před měsícem

    Now that I’m getting legendary cards, I might only use two that aren’t special perk increases, it’s so helpful to builds to get those extra 5 points. And I have yet to get anything bloodied so not even trying that yet. This is game is insane, and also ridiculous that DR does almost nothing

  • @UpsetiSpagheti
    @UpsetiSpagheti Před měsícem

    I think an easy way to look at it is a pie chart where the full chart is 100% damage reduction, if all your damage reduction is in perk DR% and not much in armor. then more perk DR is less effective then say, 50 more armor. considering that is radically more then say 0. ideally you want both balanced out. as that's the most effective.
    since the damage reduction on armor is a curve of diminishing returns, the more armor you have the even less effective it is. so yeah, 300 armor vs 500 armor isn't much in practice, but i can grantee 8 to 300 is a vastly different performance.
    and then it gets complicated because some things are multiplicitive/additive in various ways. I can tell you with my Unyielding Brotherhood recon set I run silos without bothering on killing ads. I just simply run through. (not sneaked) but it is a balance of both perks and end-game tanky armor.
