My beloved late Father was nicknamed "Dodo." His actual name was Dominique, but all who knew and Loved him called him Dodo. Hearing Scarlett utter the words, "Oh, Hi Dodo!" made my heart stop momentarily. My Dodo adored animals, too 😢 This was so touching. 🖤

YES! :) It is because (I believe)- even if the story begins as horrifying- every one of their stories is ultimately positive, and purely loving +caring+respectful towards animals. They may start out in horrible situations, but we all love the Dodo because their stories always turn out wonderful for these poor babies. We ALL love, and need to know, that there are GOOD and decent people in the world...to protect and care for these incredible, wonderful innocents; these fur babies who are some of the most precious blessings on our planet....

Yes, I noticed that look too, on Ocean's face! It was a bemused and excited and oh gosh, I can't believe it look - so so adorable! I would have LOVED to adopt a rescue dog, but I'm old, and I don't think I can manage looking after a dog at home. Oh well, maybe in my next life!
Yes I’m on my 5th adopted dog, 3 seniors I’ve had, my German Shepherd lived until she was 18 a huge age for a large dog, my 4th one he only was with me for 2yr & 1 month, but he definitely was with me to get me through the first 8 months of losing my soulmate and through the pandemic, the heartache of losing them is worth whatever time you get with them, my current fella is a senior and although he needed a lot of slow gentle work because he was so badly abused, he is a real sweetheart. Adopt don’t shop they will save your life more than you save theirs.

Yes! But, to add: Know that adopting a dog is a responsibility (almost like caring for a child). PLEASE do not go out and adopt a dog to 'fill your void' and loneliness, as so many did, during Covid. Because of that, we now seeing the most overwhelming, record, amount of dogs being RETURNED to shelters, by these same people!!! Before you run to the shelter: LEARN about how to properly care for a dog- ALL of what it entails- READ, Learn, Think about if you have enough time to spend with your dog, and enough $ resources to appropriately feed them. If you can't be bothered to have fresh water available to them 24-7; if you can't be bothered to buy quality food for them; if you will be at work 8-9 hrs/day, and plan of locking your dog in a crate all day; if you can't, or are not willing to walk them 3x/day; if you don't have the time or energy to provide care for a totally dependent living being....DO NOT adopt a dog!!! A dog is a living being, an autonomous personality, with great needs for care and kindness. If you are not caring; if you are not kind; if you have no interest in making the dog a part of your family; if you 'can't be bothered'.....do NOT adopt a dog. READ about using positive/humane training techniques, and how to communicate with dogs. If you will use punishment, domination, and cruelty, just to control another living being....Do NOT adopt a dog!! You are better off going to therapy... ;)

They are not misconceptions. Pitbulls are intentionally bred to be fighting dogs. You can't untrain their genetics. There's a reason why shelters are full of these kind of dogs. They are not good family dogs.

The same breed of dog that attacked my niece when she visited her best friend of 7 years. Entered the house, as she'd done so many times before, and bam! Three facial reconstruction surgeries, and 10's of thousands of dollars later, and she's doing alright now.

Yes, pit bulls are misunderstood. Some people think they are good family pets, but in reality, they are dogs bred for fighting and killing.
Shelters are full of pit bulls with bite history. They are too difficult for most people.

Every dog deserves love. Every human is capable of it. Having a new family farm has introduced me to sheep, kids( baby goats), lambs, cows, and chickens. I fall in love with every single animal there, and it hurts me to know when I leave some of them are lonely or cold or had a previous rough shake at life. If I could save them all I would, but owning and caring for rescue animals fills the heart with love and breaks it every single day. It's personally satisfying to know I could at least give a few neglected farm animals a little barn to stay warm in, even if they lost all their family members. I just wish it were different.
Every dog deserves love, except pitbulls.

I just love Scarlett for doing this - being a true dog lover and Dodo fan. I bet quite a few celebrities will follow. In interviews, so many of them claim to be animal lovers and its easy to see why (animals have no ulterior motives for wanting to be with you.) I'm also glad they did this video with a pittie. Why should anyone advocate for pitbulls? They are originally bred for fighting. Aggression, high prey drive, high pain resistance and locking jaws are in their genetics. You can train them, but you can never undo their genes.
They are a difficult breed to train. Not good for families with children or other pets. They are constantly involves in dog attacks.
Dogs are precious and so loyal,
they deserve our unconditional love and respect.

Personally, there is no single celebrity I worship or adore, not even when I was a teen when you are more prone to it. I'm also vegan and try to always have a keen eye when it comes to animal exploitation. I love Scarlett for doing this. I know she's in the end just a human being just like everyone else and she isn't worth more blah blah blah but the fact of the matter is that because of her fame she can have a much bigger impact for dogs looking for a forever home by appearing in a short video like this one once in a while. I know she's not the only celebrity to do this but I still wish more celebrities would do it. Doesn't have to be dogs, doesn't have to be The Dodo, but yeah.

No, they are not. They are the most difficult breed in the world, because they were intentionally bred for fighting and killing. They are constantly involved in dog attacks, and dog shelters are full of pitties with bite history.
If you buy a pit bull, at least be realistic about it's characteristics. Too many people overestimate their skills as a dog owner.
@@olijomusic2481 The ones I've known have been the sweetest dogs ever. Low prey instinct, high cuddle drive. They just wanted to be loved and told they were good dogs.
They're very smart dogs and they can be taught to be anyway you wanna teach 'em. Teach 'em to bite and they'll bite. Teach 'em to be sweet and they're just the nicest guys.
