It's painful to hear someone say to her "You don't have to worry about the same body concerns as the rest of us", she's not a mutant or alien, she's a person.

Hollywood's culture is different than the public's. Just stop watching all of this disgusting hollywood drama.

@@gerbendekker3273 yeaaa, that part makes it kinda like, why would you ask that. like you know itâs an uncomfortable question. then again, I read another comment, and it kinda brought to attention, someone of these journalists, have to ask these question. like the network or whatever gives them a set of questions, because it âgets clicks,â which makes them more money. and just no. itâs gross and sad, and very disappointing. espescially if you could risk getting fired for not asking a question. however, I donât know how many of these that they had to ask, or how many they asked on their own. either way still gross.
@@rewindoffical5280 Yeah I know, they often just get a list of questions. @@EsteemedReptile Thank u, YES!! She is SO talented & such a badazz (in everything she does) & they have to ask the stupidest questions. What a job they have. Smh.
So she deserves way better interviewers and questions.

She handles these situations so well
I have so much respect for her... she answers each of those with such grace and is firm in showing just how ridiculous these questions are, all while keeping a sense of humor. She's so quick with it too... the "really?! Have you seen Chris Hemsworth?!" comment was so quick and such a perfect response... you wouldn't reduce his character to the "sexy one" so why do it to hers.
Downey was awesome at the beginning supporting Scarlett. And Scarlett taking down everyone else was awesome. The guy who asked about her underwear!!!
It is what it is what it is.
@Anna Niedziela depends. If he did indeed ask the other guy if he wore undergarments (note this and not underwear) isnt that fair?
Because that's what does seemed to have happened.
Dont get me wrong, she probably does face sexism and I'm not saying it's right. However, in this particular instance, could it be possible she's overreacting?
I think reasonably so.
Or maybe not. Then again, to wonder how on earth does one fit I to a skinny suit, can that not be a rational question?
What if, the interviewer was indeed asking an innocent legitimate question? Are we not hasty to cast him in the light of sexism?
Thus I say, let us not so quickly refrain to ideas and feeling or hate or disgust.
If he was indeed sexist, then so shall it be.
If he wasnt sexist, then so shall it be also.
But what shall not be? Quick and thorough judgment without a proper investigation. At least for this individual alone.
@@bond3161 I donât think she overreacted. She asked the interviewer guy if he asked another guy (forgot the name sry) wether he would be wearing underwear. And the interviewer answered âno!â (In like a âhell no why would I do thatâ voice) sounds really sexist to me
@@Dean-ft6qgmaybe she didnt overreact. But I think it's a bit quick to say for that specific segment at 4:14
It appears to be indicated that the interviewer did ask Hawkeye if he wore undergarments, but that the interviewer confirmed that he didnt ask what kind of underwear he was wearing.
You see. The original question was did you wear undergarments under the suit.
To do you wear underwear under the suit.
To what kind of underwear do you wear.
The second and third of which was stipulated by johanson herself. What does this indicate? Of course, based on that segment alone.
Once again, I dont doubt she faces a lot of sexism. This world is sexist. But being overly defensive and backarched is also a thing and should be acknowledged just as much.
Two sides to a coin.
That's like asking what's your name to a female?
She replies by saying, why you wanna date me?
He says, no, I just want to be friendly
She says, no you just wanna get in side my pants.
Comon guys, is it really impossible to ask an logical non perverted question?
@@bond3161 uhh no, the question referring to either Black Widow or Hawkeye is inappropriate. That question wasnât appropriate, to ask in the first place. Wether a guy or girl, what someone wears under a costume is just pandering to the horny audience. So they can be like omg did you know Hawkeye isnât wearing anything under omg thatâs so fucking hot, or the same with Black Widow. Thatâs creepy and isnât appropriate.
Your example is overreacting because being upset someone asked you about your underwear, is different then assuming someone want to say you cause they said hi. The interviewer did ask what undergarments she wore, rephrasing isnât misinterpreting.
Yea I agree, why is it so hard to make interesting and appropriate questions? They should value the actorâs passion more.

The âwritten off as the sexy oneâ question is so dumb. The majority of the cast are conventionally attractive to both genders. Just because you sexualize one person doesnât mean they donât have any value and donât deserve any depth beyond appearance. Thatâs beyond the most disgusting thing Iâve ever heard. Kudos to Johansson for keeping her cool because I wouldnt have stood for that shit.
Yeah she's obviously sexy but they are all presented like this, having another character gushing about how attractive they are.
@@TheLaurieJi deflecting to hemsworth was a good move because my sister does not hide how much she appreciates his features.
Yep, this shows the state of media journalism, shallow and pointless.
To be fair, that was not his question. He was building up to something like "Obviously your character COULD HAVE BEEN written off as the sexy one but..." Maybe he was trying to say "but you ended up being the emotional core of the team. How do you feel about that?"
But I agree it's a dumb way to preface a question and an even dumber phrasing to use with a female celebrity. In fact, the question didn't even need a preface. He could simply have asked the second part. "How do you feel about being the emotional core of the team?" or whatever he was going to ask.

Considering her characterâs backstory and how she was treated like a machine or tool and literally objectified, you would think people would realize that before asking objectifying questions đ
@Cenestpasmapersonnalité unfortunately, yeah
Damn, fair point, IKR. They could've asked a question like: "Considering your character's backstory being treated like a machine or tool, and now, how your character has gone so far in character development, now free from the past. How would you see this as a women empowering aspect? Considering women from the past was also treated as such, with little to no freedom of how they should act in the society, plus the feeling of pressure to be or act as a "standard" women set by society back then?" Idk
You assume that these interviewers have any actual knowledge about her character. They're just journalists and they're paid to ask the obvious and sometimes ridiculous questions such as these.
I totally agree with this! I donât know if youâve seen Black Widow but I really understood the message of how there are elements of society that control women and the irony was that it was a man who was at the helm of the red room.

She feels uncomfortable but the reason why she is being asked those questions is because it usually appeals to women. Its not random or to offend her. Half those sexist questions came from women

EXACTLY!!!
I have seen several interviews where they ask spiderman and deadpool the underwear and how do you pee questions. Sure maybe she gets them too much?
Not that this isn't bad, but I'd like to refer you to any Henry Cavill interview in history before you act like men only ever get asked deep intellectual questions... That man gets it just as much as Scarlett Johansson, yet unfortunately very few are complaining about it because "he's a man, he should be enjoying the attention".
@Oni I agree with the society beauty issue you mentioned, but by telling me to 'stop' and 'there's always that one guy' you instantly lose all credibility in this conversation.
You acknowledge it happens to guys, but you don't do anything about it and talk about women struggling with it... And there lies the issue. You just instantly brushed it off and told me to stop, and said that women like Johansson get it worse.
It's not about who gets it more, it's about stopping it doesn't happen to anyone, male or female. You're part of the problem if you're acting like women should be prioritised first for being protected from this, everyone should be.
@Oni Trust me, no one's gonna objectify me so I'm no victim and don't feel sorry for myself. I'm cool being a chunky boy who sits around eating pizza and ice cream. I'm not meaning to come across as some who hates women/feminists, I'm simply saying that it seems like you can't bring up when men experience it, because people will always say "Yeah men go through it, but women (insert argument here)..." That's where I get annoyed.
It's like watching Law & Order SVU, it's a great show but it's 99% female victims, what about the men? People are quick to say "Yeah it happens, but men don't come forward so they do more females so women can speak out in reality", so shouldn't we have more stuff so men CAN come forward and speak out? It just seems like the world caters to women when it comes to this stuff, surely you can agree with my point here?
