It is common knowledge in County Cavan, Ireland that Cavan people are known to be mean when it comes to money. Is this true though? Finally. the people of Cavan have their say!

Hey Jamie...I absolutely love when you do these random street interviews with other Irish people from different parts of the Ireland to hear their different Irish accents and to see how they will react to you and your questions. Even you can't contain yourself from the reactions you get from them. They are truly genuine & real when answering your questions. Even when they tell you f**k off and walk away,,,Lol!...Please post more videos like these. I myself being half Irish from America, it really captures the "real & true" personality of the Irish people. Keep up the great work...Thanks!!!

My grandfather Andrew Reilly came from Ballyjamesduff and then moved to England after WWII. I went there in 2018 with my dad and brother to see the relatives. We are all known to be stingy within our circles. I refuse to acknowledge that I'm tight, I call it "careful money management". I've been called a "tight fucker" by my mates many times. 🤣 Also get called Scrooge when it's Xmas.

Cavan man here, it depends who you talk to, but I have a hunch it's tied to the clan of Ó'Raghallaigh, and the saying "living the life of Reilly", which originates in Cavan; and what I mean is, the only way to stay rich is to not spend your money ;)
