As a lad from Northern England never had a problem with the Irish or even Scots and Welsh for that matter. Proper sound people, with similar humour and cultures. 🏴🤝🇮🇪🏴🏴🍻
I always think of Britain as the bit around London, lol! Good on you buddy 😊
I’m from Liverpool, apparently a high Irish city but personally I’ve only met 2 and they were my maths teachers in school, from what I’ve seen online the Irish are obsessed with us. For a while they kinda annoyed me, but I realized there’s no need for more hate. If they wanna hate us then cool but I’m more mature to hate on someone for their ethnicity
@@rampz975 They’re obsessed with you. Because multiple times in the last few hundred years. You’ve murdered over half of the people native to the island. You’re also still squatting on a large chunk of their island. I’m not trying to start shit not my clowns not my circus after all. That being said your confusion baffles me.
I’m an American out of curiosity do they teach this stuff in British schools? Do they teach you what they did to the island?

Being proudly Irish (Dunshaughlin, Co. The English, Scots and Welsh are from my experience great too. Always had great craic with all British wherever I went...
The Irish are not British
Ok. Now will Irish people stop insulting and saying nasty things to English people every chance they get… oh no they won’t.
You have this thing about your country, where you are so bitter, even today. You blame and call names to the country of England. People on the internet these days could be fairly young, teenagers even. Think about it. Thanks.

Im Irish and my accent has served me well with the lady's, also being Irish is a gift from the heavens. People seem to pull towards the accent it breaks down barriers. One lady expected me to jump out of bed and say top of the morning to you, but I was young with hangover so i took her to a early pub. I carried her home at ten AM in the morning she was a accountant. Anyway we parted because she would beat the crap out of any woman who looked at me, also she beat the crap out of meself once, she hit me so hard she spun me round, and broke her own thumb. In AandE we decided we weren't compatible had a laugh and parted. Id imagine she has a cat now.

As an Englishman, I respect and like Ireland. We are a very similar people.. the establishment is my enemy, so I welcome you to be my friend.
Our culture is similar, many Englishmen and Irish people marry and thus many Irish names are here in England
Give over. They pretend to respect the English. I’ve seen enough online abuse from them for over a decade, they don’t just stop over night.

Am Irish and I feel that Yorkshire people are the most similar English tribe to us. Read somewhere that an irish invasion of England hundreds of years ago were joined by men from Yorshire and surrounds when they were told they would march on the south as they didn't like them either!
Nice to see two people from the north in the pics 😃. My first interactions with English people as a child were soldiers but many were quite kind to us.
Nice video! However ,I think you could have mentioned one of the most high- profile Irish actors , Cillian Murphy. He is hands - down one of my favourite actors because he is versatile. I cannot recommend enough the movie "The wind that shakes the barley" and the documentary "The Irish Revolution " , which is narrated by him.
Nowadays, from what I can gather , a lot of things have changed in terms of what British people think about the Irish. It is great to watch the younger generation becoming less biased and more open- minded! ❤️
Looking forward to watching your next video!
Thanks Flora 🙌
I was really close to picking Murphy, but went for Liam Neeson… purely on his earlier career and I wanted a mix of 80’s 90’s and 00’s celebs.

@@EasyEnglishVideos Glad I'm not the only one 😂. I was surprised by that.
@esmith712 The anti-Irish sentiment predates the troubles. The lady in the video even mentions the "40's" specifically.
I don't think you meant it but blaming anti-Irish hatred on the troubles shifts the blame away from plain old fashioned anti-Irish racism which was prevalent at the time.
In fact, the Troubles came about due to Irish Catholics being treated as second class citizens within the gerrymandered statelet known as Northern Ireland due to anti-Irish bigotry.
Rant over, great video 😂

I’ve always found people extremely friendly when going to England. I’m sure Wales and Scotland would be the same but I’ve actually never been to Scotland (I really should go and was only in when in Wales). Let’s face it, the Northern Ireland thing is an open wound still and the political class (particularly the Tories) sometimes don’t make things any better with their carry on. But on a personal level I really like people in Britain and in truth it doesn’t even really feel like going abroad when going there.

czcams.com/video/-b_XZ_Fwn3g/video.html Funny when they mentioned the potatoes, sounds funny their perception and that my sister was in Ireland for a convention? about the potato. We are from Peru, South America, the actual place of birth of the potatoes, that's why we have so many types of them, and not often a Peruvian committee goes to Ireland, particularly for this but my sister was going to Europe anyway so they told her, "go, they will be very happy" because of course they know history. She liked it a lot, very welcoming people and from all the places she visited she loved the Irish landscape and sky the most.

Wow had a good read down, lots of nice people, 'Fricative' is going into the vocabulary, we all live so close to each other, no wonder we like fighting one and other. Maybe it creates a bit of who we are. One on one,we probably, quite like each other, it's when it all goes a bit tribal, things, get messy. with that in mind loving Irish rugby, right now, it's just good, English coaches, antipodean players, does not matter, they are in a good place
In the nineteen - thirties, in New York City, there were only two companies who would hire those of Irish Catholic descent (back then, they could ask,) one of which was IBM. I think some British people say some racist/stereotype things without even realizing it. Example: I saw a picture of Alice Manners (Ironic name) on a rearing horse and her statement below was "his Irish tinker is coming out" Another British equestrian online I watched said about her horse "he has some Paddy moments". I've noticed some English people like to do "the dinner test" to judge your degree of etiquette. Irish people find putting yourself above your company in such a way very rude.
What’s the dinner test? Is that an actual thing?

Southern irish people have a nice accent. North of Ireland accent is woeful. I am from the north of Ireland. There are some places here that i have trouble understanding what they are saying. I think that’s were the North American accent derived from Ulster scots Irish that went west in the early days of the pioneers. Edinburgh and Dublin are renowned for being the best English speakers.
I once heard a quote that northern Irish sound intimidating and southern Irish sound slippery (like they’re trying to scam you or something) lol. I think it was from a talk show

Yes, I always thought that American English has a strong Ulster influence too.
Whoaah! Give us Irish a break guys! It simply is not true to to say we hate the British! We love the Scottish and the Welsh, and we are starting to like the English. This change is due largely to the Queens incredible visit to Ireland back in 2012. She won the hearts of the Irish people and wiped away 750 years of Anglo Irish tensions. In March 2020, Prince William and Kate on their Irish visit, came to Galway city. As they were been driven through its streets, people were cheering them on! This is Irish people, folks. Whats more they were waving flags......Irish flags and, yes, the Union Jacks! What? Irish waving Union Jacks? I have a photo to prove it! How times have changed! Our two nations just need to get on together....we are so intrinsically linked. This video shows what a benevolent attitude the English now have toward Ireland......nice one,Engilsh neighbours!

Within Ireland and like any other country there is different accents from different regions of the country so when people say "Irish accent" it is too much of an umbrella term and not accurate. For example hear how different Conor McGregors accent sounds to Pearce Brosnans. So when people say they like the "Irish accent" they are referring to an Irish person that has an accent from a particular county that was audibly pleasing to their ears. If you use the term "English accent" contrast the different accents between Newcastle,Liverpool,West Country,Yorkshire,Midlands and London!
