I'm just gonna give you guys a like. Already subbed.
MJ is the GOAT 🐐 but I've lived it.
He was so dominant on offense that folks forget his incredible defense.
Thanks Mike, seen so many mentions regarding his defending! Something we’re going to have to watch more of
@@DNReacts agreed, but it's more fun to see the offensive stuff. Almost superhuman.
The GOAT............
Sorry this is about Jordan not Legoat
@@larrythecableman6963 LeChina shoots 33 percent beyond 3 feet, 20 percent in clutch (when he is not scared to take shot), has no heart, can't play defense (other than a few blocks from behind).
@@larrythecableman6963 Exactly, that's why he said goat.
@@larrythecableman6963 LeBron shouldn't even be mentionned as goat or even second best as this rank belongs to Kobe.
@@djyanno this is asinine. RIP Kobe, but he’s not even top 5.
What almost no video can show is how much dominant he was as a defender. He was a complete beast on both sides of the court.
wasn’t even the best defender on his team
@@coopergreen9559 your point being?
@@djyannoUnless he's talking about Rodman, he's wrong. But, in any case, Rodman played a completely different role. His job was to shut down big men and not allow easy shots in the paint. Jordan defended on the perimeter against guards only.
Pippen was an amazing defender as well, but Jordan was better. The only reason Pippen is sometimes regarded as the superior defender is because the offense ran through Jordan, and it was important to keep him rested, so he wouldn't often guard the main offensive threat from the other team. In terms of talent alone, Jordan is a top 10 defensive player.
@@cameronl1859 Either way, him being the best or second, or even third best of that Bulls team (let's not forget Ron Harper) does not change the main point. The man was a beast defensively. That's why I don't understand what the point was.
@@djyanno His point was just that he likes to be a contrarian and start arguments. He's probably not even really concerned with winning, he just likes the debate, so he will pick whatever side feeds the debate.
But, lets be real...Ron Harper is not on the same level as the other 3 guys mentioned
At 7:00 when you hear that game 1 score of 84-82, it reminds me that he was putting up 30+ points a night during an era that was SO much lower scoring than it is today.
To put this into context: Jordan's "Last Dance" NBA Finals in 1998 only had a team break 90 points twice in six games. Last year's NBA Finals only had a team score *fewer* than 90 points once in six games. One reason is teams have gotten more efficient: they shoot a lot more 3s now, something Jordan did only infrequently. Another reason is that the defense was so much tougher and more physical back then. In his early career Jordan got bludgeoned by playoff opponents whenever they could.
MJ got his first bit of fame not in the NBA, but in college. He played for my favorite team, North Carolina. He made the game winning shot in the 1982 National Championship game (although it wasn’t a buzzer beater). Still one of my favorite games to go back and watch. Love y’all’s videos and GO HEELS!
Go heels
One thing to keep in mind was at those buzzer beaters every single player, every coach, every concession worker, ticket taker, spectator, and everyone watching at home, knew the ball was going to 23, and still hit it EVERYTIME!
Finally Michael makes an appearance on the channel! Awesome guys 😎 His Airness, Air Jordan, The GOAT! Mike was the best!
Thanks Gavin!
One thing you can't really tell from this video is how great Jordan was under pressure. He was the greatest clutch player - when everything was on the line - there was nobody who could rise to the occasion like Michael Jordan. Not Kobe, not Lebron, not even Larry Bird. Jordan was the ultimate clutch player - and that's what makes him the greatest. Plus the fact that he could defy gravity. Great reaction - thanks for posting this.
Thank you Jedd, we’ll definitely have to watch more of MJ as this all sounds incredible
Spot on. THE best clutch player ever. With five seconds left and down by one, he demands the ball and knows he can make it. Unmatched skill plus balls of steel.
Funny I just watched their vid of Peyton Manning and they were asking what clutch was. MJ Is the definition of clutch. The guy you want with the ball when the game is on the line. THAT is clutch.
Michael Jordan’s Bulls never beat Larry Bird’s Celtics in the playoffs. That’s a fact.
@@Jetz316 Yep. Bird was a master of trash talk and could back it up. To be fair, MJ avged almost 40ppg during their series.
For as good as Jordan was offensively, he was just as good defensively. That's why the majority of people regard him as the greatest ever.
Every move he made even unintentionally was so graceful. He was living poetry on a basketball court.
Even MJ's smooth mid-range shot was terrific. He would jump so high in the air that defenders just couldn't reach that high. He perfected the fall-away & the fade-away. I'm not even going to talk about his dunks, layups, finger rolls & put backs. I love the fact that they named the Regular Season MVP Trophy after Michael Jordan. Just think for a second: MJ had a total of 31 games with 50 or more points. LeBron: 14. Michael searching for Scoring Titles, count'em 10 - 1 in favour of Mike over just 15 seasons and LeBron just finished his 20th season in the NBA. MJ is the one and only GOAT, however, I do have respect for LeBron who is 2nd on that list of Greatest Players.
@@BouchIsOnTheLoose702 That's a completely apples to oranges comparison. Games were far lower scoring when MJ played, so making 50 points back then was far more impressive than when Lebron scored 50.
Gotta watch the Ultimate Highlight Reel: it's one of my favorite videos on CZcams and an epic tribute to the GOAT.
this video will become more impressive to you over time because there's so many story lines involved in some of these plays and as you start to learn players and such they'll become even greater.
💯 Appreciate the comment!
8:23 “did he retire after that or did he go on to play more?”
Yes…
Def need to watch his ultimate highlight mixtape
The very first play where Jordan dunks on 7'2 Dikembe Mutombo and you see him shake his index finger in Mutombo's face, that was Mutombo's signature move every time he blocked a shot at the rim. Jordan was taunting him.
Its crazy Steve Kerr who was on that bulls dynasty with Jordan is now the coach of Steph Curry the current best player in the league. Steph has said Kerr helped him alot with his shooting that's how he got 400 3s in a season
I think the most defining thing about MJ was that people were truly terrified to even talk to him during games. There were the random players that were a bit insane and always talked. But for the most part no one spoke to him. Hoping that he would forget to try hard. He was known for creating false things in his head to have chip on his shoulder, for some all it took was someone to look at him too long, but most feared him and treated him like the bear you were told not poke.
As said elsewhere… the Ultimate Highlight Reel is a must watch!
Jordan was a 6’6” 214 lb shooting guard with a 50” vertical jump
Jordan played SG (Shooting Guard) also known as the 2 Guard. They’re commonly referred to this because they can play both the point, and a scorer.
Sounds too complicated. They are called that because there are two guards in the backcourt and they ain't the point guard. It's a different position .The other guard. That's it ..Period. Don't confuse the issue
@@markdraine3571 So SG never plays the point? I'll let you think about that for a minute.
@@colinryan4737 That's not WHY they are called the two guard.,genius .There are five positions on the court , Mr .MENSA member .It's one of the five , called two .
@@markdraine3571 Are you okay? High blood pressure maybe? You seem a little on edge.
He played MLB baseball after the last shot. He played a couple years and then came back to basketball to finish his career.
Michael Jordan was listed as shooting guard for most of his career. Listed as a small forward in his oft forgotten stint with the Washington Wizards.
So glad you boys watched this! Those 6 Bulls championships were my favorite childhood memory growing up in Chicago!
Thanks Paul, love this!
Dudes, nba videos are a rabbit hole unto no other. I would highly recommend a 8 part series by Clayton Crowley called "making the case" basically they are in depth videos making the case as the goat for who he considers to have a claim. Other than that love the channel, keep it up
Thank you, appreciate the support. Have added this to our list, sounds great!
the way he caught that ball with one hand takes so much hand strength. nobody does that shit like him.
Jordan is the greatest, he literally changed the game of basketball, not just the NBA or the Chicago Bulls, but the actual sport of basketball itself
He was a shooting guard and sometimes forward. Best player ever
GOAT not only in basketball but sports in general. No man dominated and transcended sports like MJ.
Idk he didn’t do that well for the Birmingham Barons. He was decent.
People make a decent argument for Pele, but in sports in the US it's not even close.
Lmao hes not even close to THE GREAT ONE, Wayne Gretzky. When you have other people in the conversation of GOAT, you aint the greatest in all of sports. Come back to me when Wilt, Russle, Kareem, and Lebron all disappear from history.
Gretzky did for hockey. Arguably to an even greater extent given how ridiculously far ahead every other great NHL'er he was. But Jordan was phenomenal in a way no other NBA player was. (I'm no LeBron hater either, that man is also an all-time great baller. But there's only one MJ.)
@@MDK2_Radio Russel beats Jordan in Winning, Wilt beats Jordan in personal statistics and Lebron/Kareem win out in longevity, and overall continued dominance stat compiling. Jordan was INSANE, the complete package, and a winner to the highest degree. That being said, he has piers that are actively compared to him and are in the conversation. There is no conversation to be had with Wayne.
I was a kid coming into teens when Michael Jordan dominated the NBA. Living in Illinois gave me front row seats to him every night. The man taught the whole world to fly. He seemed to hang in the air longer than anyone. Almost pausing mid jump. No one is better
The craziest thing about when he the crossover buzzer beater to win the finals, there is a picture of a kid holding up 6 fingers when he took the shot. That was his 6th title. The kid knew it was going in. Looks like some Time Machine stuff. It’s pretty cool.
You guys should definitely do more M.J. videos. He's truly a once in a lifetime Athlete.
MJ retired after that last shot. 3 years later, he came out of retirement and played for the Washington wizards for 2 years then retired for good
Michael Jordan’s historic bulls mixtape is a must watch
In that last game, he had influenza really bad. He scored 45 points, with that crazy winning shot.
Somehow also one of the greatest defensive players.
He played shooting guard most of his career but he also had a little bit of experience playing point guard. The job of the point guard is usually to bring the ball up the floor and initiate the offense with passing and ball movement. The job of the shooting guard is in the description. To shoot on the perimeter. Obviously every position can drive to the hoop or shoot threes but that is what their primary job was
Greatest of all time. Listed as a shooting guard
Thank you!
@@DNReacts yes sirs. I'm glad I could help. At me with any sports questions, I'm happy to shed some advice, or point ya to the vid with the answers. Also, check out the Minneapolis miracle 2017...epic
MJ is the main reason that I ever started watching the NBA.
If you do Michael Jordan again, do his Ultimate Bulls Mixtape for the most encompassing career video. I’d also recommend a video on Kobe Bryant called “Greatness Personified”.
That turned out to not be Jordan’s last shot. He did retire after that season but came back to play for the Wizards.
Jordan was a shooting guard.
He played the two spots, which are shooting guard the beat ever.
Bit of insight for you - Michael Jordan has MASSIVE hands. He’s known for his hands, it’s part of why he was able to make such acrobatic plays with the ball. Catches, layups, dunks, it was so easy for him to control the ball. His creativity and ability to improvise + his absolute MITTS made him unstoppable. So fun to watch.
Jordan was the best ever hands down. He could play great defense too! Literally could do it all
He was the best scorer and the best defender in the league at the same time. And it was that way for a good 15 years. The greatest to ever do it
MJ will always be the best to me.

Excellent commentary ! 🫡
MJ had the most magnificent shooting form in the universe!! It was literally perfect.
Need some Jason Williams highlights next. He's one of the slickest passers the league's ever seen.
One of the best Jordan clips doesn’t even have him in it. It’s coach Bob Knight declaring him the GOAT in 1984 before he played his first game in the NBA.
Definitely watch The Last Dance like Nick recommended, ESPN rushed to get it edited and out Mid-pandemic and it was incredible.
Jordan was a legend in an incredible era full of god-like talent. Magic Johnson, Larry Bird, Reggie Miller, David Robinson, Charles Barkley, Hakeem Olajuwon, Patrick Ewing, Jock Stockton, Karl Malone and so many more
Definitely the best ESPN produced documentary
Currently watching The Last Dance on our Patreon as it’s not something we can put on CZcams. We’re absolutely loving it, Episode 5 due out this week and it’s a brilliant series.
MJ is the GOAT of all sports including Messi, Pele, Babe Ruth, Muhammad Ali, and Tiger Woods.
He is, The GOAT!
I know it doesn’t make for good CZcams but his best stuff is in The Last Dance. Greatest of all time. When he stepped on the court, I expected my team to lose. That’s a special player that can make you feel that way.

Michael Jordan played shooting guard position but what really elevated him was in his later five and six year career he went up to 225 weight and he was one of the best defenders in the league that's why he was always the best at hustling and pure determination

Thank you for the comment and your support, we really appreciate it 🙏 Have made a note of the Mixtape too
To fully appreciate just how singularly-focused on winning Michael Jordan was, you need to watch 'The Last Dance.' It gave me a whole new level of appreciation for his greatness.

Jordan played shooting guard, also called the 2 (positions are often just labeled 1-5 with 1s being generally the smallest). they are typically the secondary ballhandlers and primarily look to score the ball.
The last shot was his final shot as a Bull. Jordan played 9 seasons as a Bull that ended with him winning 3 championships in a row and widely considered among the best players ever at 29 years old, he then retired to play professional baseball. He came back to basketball after about a year and a half and won another three championships in a row for the Bulls. That last shot was the game winner in the 98 championship, after which he retired for the second time immediately after a threepeat and again retired as the best player in the world at age 34.
He would come back at age 38 to play two seasons for a different team where he was less effective but still very good for his age and having just come out of retirement.
7:30 This is the most iconic shot in NBA history. This basket won the Bulls their 6th championship (and second "three-peat.") Many believed this would either be Jordan's last shot as a Bull or possibly his last shot ever. It was a Hollywood ending to a Hollywood career.
Yes he did retire after that last shot but 3 years later he unretires to play for the Washington Wizards which at the time he had a small ownership role and was also the president of basketball operations. So the answer to your question is yes he did retire and yes he did go on to play for another team. Y'all should react to his Washington Wizards highlights he was old but still great I mean dropping 45 point games at 39-40 years old is insane 🤯
Might be a good idea to do a basketball explains video where they go over the positions etc. Now more than ever the traditional positions (1-Point Guard, 2-Shooting Guard, 3-Small Forward, 4-Power Forward, 5-Center) are getting to be ambiguous. Players are so versatile and can do so many things, and take on different responsibilities in different settings, that they play multiple positions. And even then what it means to play that position is murky. But just knowing the traditional positions will help because they're still relevant, and also learning the rules will help.
Maybe "ambiguous" instead of "ambitious"?
@@seanmonetathchi1060 Correct! didn't get enough sleep last night...too tired to be writing CZcams comments
@@TES-541 No worries! No flame intended. 👍
6'6" Shooting guard from North Carolina.....Michael! JORDAN!
Still haven't seen a player look near as smooth and graceful on the court. He's still the only player who looked like they were levatating when he jumped. The Goat. You've opened a can of worms with the NBA though. It's a league of superstars. My recommendations are Jason Williams and Vince Carter as far as fun level.
I sometimes forget that he was known as very talented from day one but wasn't considered a winner or a closer until he won his first championship. He went on to win 6 championships in 8 years (might have been 8 in a row if he didn't retire to pursue a baseball career in 1994).
Also, the one where he drives the baseline and tomahawk dunks over the guy under the basket? That guy was 7-foot center Patrick Ewing. He was one of the greatest defensive centers of that generation and Jordan was "just" a 6-6 shooting guard. Shows just how explosive and powerful he could be as well as quick, deft, and a deadly shooter.
He did retire after that last one from 1998 but came out of retirement one more time and played with the Washington Wizards (who he was part-owner of at the time) from 2001 to 2003 but never made the playoffs.
Never has a highlight video undersold an athlete more.
Nice reaction guys 👍
Thank you 🤝
Jordan is the G.O.A.T.
MJ 🐐 🙏🏾
MJ played the Shooting (or 2 guard) position. He is 6'6". The GOAT
Michael Jordan was a shooting guard, also knowns as a "2", or a "2-guard". Guard just means their basic position is the backfield, that is, they don't start out near the baseline under the basket, and "shooting" means they're supposed to score. Other than the point guard, who are often like 6'-6'3" or so (tall, but not like everybody-stares-at-you tall), the shooting guard's are usually the next smallest. Jordan was 6'6", which is pretty standard for the position. He had HUGE hands though, giving him the ability to avoid defenders after he'd already committed to the basket.
DN Reacts:. Y'all need to look at how Jordan caught the ball at the 4:50 mark. He caught that ball like it was a tennis ball!!😲😲😲 I've never seen another player catch a ball like that. Mike was notorious for having humongous hands and that right there proves it.
As a teenager in Chicago during the Jordan Era, Jordan is easily the best player to ever play the game...hands down...6 -0 in the finals and still is number 1 in points per game for a career....not to mention 20 other nba records he still holds
MJ is a shooting guard.
Here are all of the five positions in basketball (in the order of increasing body size/height): Point Guard, Shooting Guard, Small Forward, Power Forward, and Center.
Thank you Anthony, this is great
The 🐐 end of discussion 🤘
Basketball has always been pretty positionless . Now days it's even more so. Back then he'd be categorized as a Shooting Guard, but he'd guard guys who were categorized as point guards and small forwards. He'd also handle the point guard position at times.
The goat of ALL GOATS!
Thanks guys watch the jordan mix tape it will blow your mind
Hey guys, MJ was the best ever, the real GOAT. I live 2.5 hours from Chicago and I am 63 years old, I watched every game MJ played. He had 10 scoring titles in 10 years, while at the same time making the 1st team defense every year, and leading the league in steals 3 times.
He was a 6'6 guard who only weighed 215 lbs. Making what he did in his time evben more unreal, he was almost not human, he seemed to be part robot. Sometimes he had to lower his head on dunks so it did not hit the rim, think about that for a minute.
He won 6 championships, in 6 tries, and he won 3 in a row, retired for 2 years to play baseball, then came back and won 3 more in a row, it was called the 3 peat repeat. In those 6 NBA finals series, not one went the full 7 games, they were all over in 6 games or less.
LeBron is 4 of 10 in the NBA finals, and all his series wins went the full 7 games.
MJ also has the playoff scoring record of 63 points. MJ had 31 games of 50 points or more, in 10 years, Lebron only has 14 games of 50 points or more, in 20 years.
And btw, MJ also had close to a 90% free throw percentage, LeBron has a free throw average under 70% for his career.
MJ was the best, a recent poll of all the NBA players came out with MJ as the best ever of 70%, LeBron only got about 15% of the vote.
As you can see from the video, MJ was unguardable, even when 3 or 4 guys guarded him, he could still get 50 points if he wanted to, they could not stop him. Then you add a top defense, top steals, and he was almost perfect, he had no weakness.
It was like he was created in a lab to play basketball, and there will never be anyone better, he was truly one of a kind.
This doesn't even scratch the surface of how great he was. Yes he was clutch in the playoffs, but you have to watch his top 100 plays to get a sense of how great of a player he was. And the thing that was the best about him was how hard he played all the time. Offense, defense, some regular season game on Tuesday night in December (early in the season) or the NBA finals, you were always going to get him playing his absolute hardest. He was that 1 in a million athlete that had the rare 3 things you need to be legendary - talent, intelligence and drive/intensity. A lot of NBA guys have the first two, but the really great ones (Bird, Magic Johnson, Kobe, Kareem, Bill Russell etc) have the drive of a "lesser" player to be great, instead of just showing up and relying on their ability alone. He was never not practicing.
You could watch Michael play later in his career, even after winning 4-5 championships and already basically being called one of the greatest players ever (while he was still playing), and still see that kid who got cut from his school's basketball team and got told he wasn't good enough. He never forgot that, and although he turned his skills into a once in a lifetime player, he didn't care. He played every minute of every game like there were a bunch of people watching him and telling him that he wasn't good enough. He wanted to leave no doubt. And he did, in an era where defenses were...let's just say a little tougher than they're allowed to be now ;)
You guys should DEFINITELY do Dennis Rodman (the best rebounder and defender for a 6'7 post player that you'll ever see), and also Larry Bird's top plays in addition to MJ's. Those videos are long but they are 2 of the best to ever play in the NBA, and both masters of their type of game.
Please look at the Last Dance, i think second episode or third where it was talking about MJ vs the Pistons and how the pistons back in the 80s did a Number on MJ, literally changed MJ career based on those games
Will add to our list thanks Ricco. Definitely not one we could get onto CZcams but we’ll see what we can do. Appreciate the comment
The goat. The black cat. Black Jesus. No one’s compares to Mike. He just got better and better as the years went on. Mike was completely unfair to play against. He was unstoppable. Just like most ex players say, if Mike played in todays league, he would average 50 points a game. He was in a class by himself.
Exactly 💯

Michael Jordan was a shooting guard. The five positions in basketball are: 1) Point Guard 2) Shooting Guard 3) Small Forward 4) Power Forward and 5) Center.
Michael Jordan is the greatest basketball player of all time. It's not even close. Anyone who says otherwise doesn't have a clue what they're talking about.
that was the last shot he ever took as a chicago bull, winning their 6th championship... he went onto partially own the wizards and decided to unretire for a last time to play for the wizards for 2 seasons, then retired for good afterwards
"Jordan" the GOAT!! hands down!
It still baffles me that in the late 80's he averaged like 37 points per game, which is ridiculous. He was almost 10 ppg above the second person in the league. It was suppose to be the toughest era of the league too, especially compared to today.
You guys probably won't understand this since you don't know the sport well, but my favorite thing about Jordan was the evolution in his offense to using the post-up more the older he got. The post-up is my favorite thing about basketball, so I'm a big fan of guys like Hakeem Olajuwon and Tim Duncan who were known for their post game. IMO it's the highest form of offense and the smart players learn to master it (Kobe Bryant, LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony, and Dirk Nowitski all had elite post games)
The post-up is when you catch the ball (usually anywhere inside the 3-point line and outside the paint) and your back is against your opponent (giving you the best ball protection). From there, you have many options: you can pass out of it, you can back your opponent down to get closer to the basket, but the key to the post-up is your pivot foot-- you can pivot into the triple-threat (pass, shoot, or dribble options while facing your opponent), you can pivot into a shot (like a fadeaway), you can fake pivot and go the other way, etc.
The post game is awesome and it extends careers (Jordan was still an good scorer after coming out of retirement the second time to play for the Wizards due to operating out of the post game).
If you want to understand what I'm talking about, check out videos of Hakeem Olajuwon and Dirk Nowitski's post moves. Hakeem was a post-up wizard, dominating the '94 and '95 championship runs, and Dirk Nowitski dominated the 2011 championship run. He made the powerhouse Miami Heat team look foolish and it's my 2nd favorite championship run in NBA history after the 2004 Pistons run.
I'd recommend "Michael Jordan's HISTORIC Bulls Mixtape | The Jordan Vault"
Yes, The GOAT
there so many MJ plays that worth to watch over and over , there is no way to put them in a single video clip. Try to react to Michael Jordan's HISTORIC Mixtape | The Jordan Vault
1. This clip shows very few of MJ's highlights from decisive playoff games. Watch Michael Jordan ultimate Mix tape.
2. That final clip was MJ's final shot for the Bulls. He retired for 3 years and came back to play as the owner of the Wizards for 2 more years at age 39, 40. (which people don't recognize how good those seasons were compare to other wannabe GOATs.)
Jordan was actually drafted by the Chicago white Sox for baseball to and played a season in the minors

Michael Jordan’s historic Bulls mixtape on the NBA yt is the best one
Jordan was NBA all-defensive first team 9 of the 14 years he played...His game-winning shot % is highest in NBA history, was pit-bull strong, cat quick and could palm a pumpkin. A+ in offensive defensive I.Q. on top of his crazy athleticsm..He would destroy today's NBA with ease.
