Hmb does not make a visual difference and is bunk. It increases performance a little at best
Not enough for the cost.
Geeez HMB?!! I use to take that like 30 years ago ??
Hi Thomas. I'd like to see commentary on HMB within the context of intermittent fasting. Because there is less of an insulin response with HMB, and it helps preserve muscle, these are both things that would be potentially very powerful as a tool in that specific context.

Thank you 💪🏽

Thomas, I just found your channel in my research to help osteoarthritis. I'm a retired firefighter, and throughout my career, I had to stay in shape. Now that i am in my 60s, I'm finding it much harder to do what always came easy for me. This video and the one you most recently did on peptides is really encouraging. Thank you. I'm now a subscriber.
Your videos are so helpful 😊 I have improved my workouts so much...Thanks so much....
You need magnesium to process Vitamin D. Magnesium is a huge supplement for this, for sleep and 600 other processes in the body.
My wife and I do transdermal Mg oil after workouts, and Magnesium L-threonate at bedtime.
You need k2 to process vitamin D it helps distribute the calcium to your bones and not to your arteries.
Increased Taurine in muscles after workout is more likely due to it's role in protein synthesis.
The antioxidant effect can be explained by reduction of misfolded proteins, resulting in less overall waste products to be oxidised and a cleaner overall recovery and growth.
Where's the guy who watches the video then lists the 7 supplements in the comments so i dont have to watch the video gone????
Paid vacation day
😂
A month late 😅
Right above your comment 🙂
3 above you😂
Very informative! Thanks!
This is truly fascinating! I appreciate the depth of insights shared on muscle training supplements. I'm considering trying out creatine and essential amino acids, as well as beta-alanine in cycles. The recent findings on vitamin D are absolutely intriguing!
Great video 😊 also I think it's well worth a mention that vitamin k2 keeps the calcium where it should be in the bones and not causing plack in the arteries and calcification keep up the great vids 😊
Great content brotha. Love the emphasis on vitamin D.It's basically a prohormone that converts to a steroid hormone( 125-dihydroxy vitamin D) of course is excellent for muscle protein synthesis and muscle building in general. Thank you for the knowledge. 👍🏽
Good video, Total Shape mentioned Creatine and by searching it more I got to this video because I was kinda curious as to what it was exactly.
Here are the 7 supplements he talked about that are still legal (for now):
1. Doughnuts
2. Pepperoni Hotpockets
3. Methyethylpristaninecreatinoaminoanabolicpeptideglutamatesulinadine (Twinkies)
4. Water (may be banned soon, stock up now)
5. Scrotal microplastics
6. Cherry Kool Ade
7. Oxygen
What about using taurine the day after a very hard workout for recovery
Creatine has other benefits besides just for muscle growth, it also supports with brain function which helps with focus and concentration. So I personally wouldn't take less than 5g of creatine, 10g if you are of a bigger build. I have also added glycerol to my pre workout for pumps, I have tried multiple pre workouts and stacks and the addition of glycerol with my pre workout has definitely improved my workout and my mood afterwards. My mood might be from dropping my caffeine from 500mg to 250mg though. 😅
I also take Rhodiola Rosea which is supposed to increase your energy levels and make you feel less depleted after working out, but you might want to cycle on and off if you use this so that your body doesn't get used to it.
Good comment. Rhodiola Rosea can also suppress cortisol to elevate your testosterone.👍🏽
Yeah, didnt he have a guy who said take 10 to get the mental benefits?
Agreed that protein from a natural source, beef is the way nature intended however as we know with age our digestive system slows down which means beef and other meats put us in that sluggish state of heavy digestion coupled with the fact that I’m not perpetually in the mood for as much protein as I was in the past so consuming protein in liquid form is an attractive alternative. Again when I was younger it wasn’t a factor but when you get older you’ll realize the benefits of not perpetually taxing your digestive tract which is why in my opinion supplementing becomes a viable option. At 61 I feel like I did in my 30’s both physically and cognitively but admittedly after a large protein based meal it takes me a considerable amount of time to get back to how I feel in a fasted state.
What's a considerable amount of time? Are we talking hours or days?
I used HMB in the early 2000's. It's great for people who do a lot of aerobic training. Helps them retain muscle mass.. it is a great supplement.
what about boron?
Never heard that you should cycle beta-alanine great info thank you
Thanks Thomas. So you have recommended EAA's, but in doing so you basically zero in on one major component of EAA's, Leucine, as Leucine availability increases with intake of EAA's as (you said) well as just increasing your whey protein intake. Therefore, why wouldn't you have isolated just a straight Leucine supplement instead of the (Leucine diluted) effect of an EAA supplement? Thanks.
Cause taking just leucine in isolation inhibits the uptake of other essential amino acids that share the same pathway. You need to ideally get them all in their proper ratio
We all can take to many vitamins and that can become toxic in the body I seem to be adding more and more when I see something new to try which is not good for the body could you please do a video showing the minimum vitamins for training we need I'm up to twelve vitamins a day that can't be working for the good of my health when combined like this together that you have recommended over time watching your health vids what do you think ? I think we need to go back to basics a bit on vitamins 😊
How in the world are you supposed to find cod liver oil with that much vitamin D. Most I see are only around 270 IU
Is creatine measured by volume or by weight? Serving size is 1 scoop. Lable claims that's 5 grams. However, when I weigh a level 1 scoop it's 2.4 grams.
It can weigh 2.4 grams but still contain 5 grams of creatine.
I DO NOT MEAN TO CRITIQUE YOU.NOTHING PERSONAL, BUT IT MAKES NO SENSE. I HOPE IT IS JUST A MISTAKE. I THINK THE MANUFACTURER MEANS 2 OR MAYBE MORE SCOOPS AS A SERVING SIZE WILL GIVE YOU 5 GRAMS OF CREATINE NOT 1 SCOOP OF A LESS WEIGHT OF THE PRODUCT. IT IS THE OPPOSITE MATH. IT IS JUST NOT POSSIBLE. I TEACH MATH! @@lionheart9692
WEIGHT! SIMPLE PUT: THE SCOOP HAS A CERTAIN CAPACITY FOR WEIGHT AND VOLUME OF THE PRODUCT. THE SERVING SIZE COULD BE 2 OR MORE OF THAT SCOOP TO MEET THE MEASUREMENT OF THE CREATINE AS A RECOMMENDED DOSE.
Heard EAAs affect insulin resistance negatively
Non of those supplements worked for me until I started TRT with nandralone for my joints and primo for lower estrogen and HCG for me nuts 🥜
So basically buy all these things and eat good 😆 in all seriousness though, are any of these better for taking post workout or should i take them all before?
I got a question ❓ Ive been weight lifting a very long time and I don't ever get that burn feeling like when I first started . I get pumped to were I can't do any more reps but I never get that burn feeling any more, it's been gone for years . For example doing bicep concentration curls I get pumped to were I can't do any more reps but never a burn . Is that okay ? Or am I lacking something.
@@jeffreypetree7163 hi drop the weight and do high reps 12 to 15 reps or go to failure each set your muscles will fill with blood and get fully pumped high reps is the answer to a great pump and try 3 different exercises for the same muscle none stop finish one set go straight to the next as your muscles know what's coming mix it up you have to trick them muscles when they become complacent with your workout slow down the reps use negatives get them muscles burning the pump is still there your body's smart be smarter 🤔💪💯
I use taurine for regular heart rhythm. It's been good to back off my pharmaceutical which has more sise effects than benefits. I also don't have to pay a doctor for a permission slip!
Just ordered hmb today hope it works😮
Have you noticed any difference in your physique since you’ve started taking HMB?
@@malique47 alittle
How'd it go?
It a scam
@simontaylor9362 been taken for about 4 weeks has done absolutely nothing think it's a scam
what about vitamin c and collagen ?
I tried taking 10g of creatine then 20g then 40g... nothing happened... because it can help those who eat little protein, I saturated everything with 2.5lb of meat a day being on a carnivore diet. .
what do you think of the claims of advanced bionutrionals advanced amino powder that dr shallenberger promotes.
So creatine HCI is bad?
How to build muscle with zero supplements: BEEF

@@twrecksemtwrecksem1020 research, experimentation, results, it's not for everyone but I'm giving it a try to see how it does for me.
Why would you not just half-and-half your vegetable protein with your dairy protein as opposed to alternating? Is there areason for that
What cod liver oil?
this guy makes sooooo much money, every video is also a massive commercial lol well played sir well played
The problem with creatine for me is my hair started thinning out after a few months. Please be careful.
have you heard of Kachava Tribal Superfood? Its a organic plant based proteins powered mix. Can it be used when
I switch from Whey proteins
Plant proteins are not equal to meat proteins. They are not 1:1 in value. It's not as high of a quality. So 30g of high quality protein (beef, chicken) vs 30g of plant protein is damn near half value for your body. Meaning you'll need about 40%-50% more to get the same actual intake as using higher quality proteins.
Dive into muscle-boosting realms with HMB! 🚀 But, here's the golden rule: supps are sidekicks, not superheroes. Amp up with creatine, protein, and beta-alanine. It's a harmony, not a swap. Catch the vibes: czcams.com/video/1nonDxjIMPM/video.html
Yeahb HMB is the robin to batman
Nah, he’s just using. ChatGPT to write nonsense so he can seek his crap. The shitty copy is a dead giveaway
Yes you still need to eat good food. He didn't get a body like that by eating hmb suppliment while on the couch eating Cheetos.
@@user-pf5xq3lq8i I would argue he didn't just use good food.
thanks for sharing.
7:00 you say throw the bcaas away then promote sunwarrior with bcaas, I'm confused
You’re learning. Every third video contradicts itself. He’s not reading all these studies himself, this is a business, it’s a team of people reading multiple studies and giving him notes for ‘daily content.’
Lmao!
×w@@noybeeswax
Pay someone enough and you can get them to say anything!
It’s an advertisement for the plant based protein.
Can you take taurine during a fast
Drink a large glass of milk, body doesn’t store it but fills you up without burning muscle.
Indigo is awesome from biotest
Great granma, says, he's not serious, get a shirt on when talking to an audience, a collar shirt prefferable
Why supplements be like:
Creatine $15
HMB $15
Creatine plus HMB $69.00
Thomas...love your stuff but holy geez I get lost after 2 minutes of watching your videos. You should totally make a side channel called Thomas D Cliff Notes or something. Like a 3 minute recap. I don't need to hear the full science breakdown of these things. My attention span is horrible and I'm sure most people the same...that's why I'm watching CZcams and not Netflix.
I think people forget that supplements are just that "Supplements " for food intake...
If you dont or cant get enough of X nutrients from food for whatever reason, you use a supplement for that lack of....not just try and build with supplements
Tongkat Ali ??
All is take is creatine, D3, K2, magnesium, zinc, and citruline
Come up to Central New York and I'll show you why our Vitamin D levels are low. I take nootropics 5000iu every other day, with half a tablet the other days. Brought my levels to around 60 from 30. Not ideal but an improvement.
Take 5k everyday, include K2
Thanks for the insight
We don't demonise insulin. We should just get by consuming enough animal based protein and not exogenous carbs. The Chems being pumped in the air might have something to do with low D
Or it could be no one goes outside anymore. I keep seeing this about chem trails. Cars also leave these in the winter they are just dispersed quickly by traffic. Did they put something in the gas also?
I get crazy pumps with L- Citrulline
Me too
Well, you are Donald Pump@@richDonaldPump
Thank you guys! I am 57 😂
citrulline/arginine gives me painful morning wood lol
(tho i keep taking it anyway and starting to subside)
CAP..DOES NOTHING FOR ME ..I STILL GET A PUMP EITHER WAY..REST PERIOD LESS THAN 1 MINUTE BETWEEN SETS..PUMP IS AMAZING
How the heck does someone mention Whey with no mention of Casein? Truly bizarre...
Doesn’t HMB have a lot of calcium in it, is that good to be circulating around in your blood in high amount. I’ve heard that this contributes to hardening of the arteries and heart attacks
Thanks for this post. He always talks of supplements but not its side effects. Dr Oz did that for years.
Nah. If you're taking magnesium supplements (which you should), then it keeps the balance of Calcium to Magnesium.
Vitamin K2 takes calcium out of your arteries and puts it into your bones!
You could probably find a HMB that is a different salt than calcium like I was able to find Methyfolate that was a glucosamine salt rather than calcium.
Take vitamin k2
Trenblone
I thought he had a doctor on that said 10 grams of creatine is about right
What is the best time to take HMB?
Pre workout.
After waking up. Before bed.
Second best times: Before and after workout. And always on empty stomach
What about tribulus and dhea
Tribulus can boost only bound testosterone as I saw in researches. Does nothing with free test.
Tribulus does nothing dhea will raise estrogen
All you need is red meat.
So take Taurine only on hard training days, also, take Taurine only on non training days? Good lord he needs an Editor...
Japanese have been treating heart failure with taurine for decades.
Men listen. When your ladies give you these tests, this is how we should respond. If you don't think it is important enough to use your words to get what you need, then it's not important enough to find the words to argue about it.
What if your type 1 diabetic
How effective is HMB though?. I'm on TRT and would love to find something to stack with it to get better results.

So you think if some genius made a whey protein with all this scientific stuff in it he'd make millions cause I just wanta one scoop all this everyday before my workout cause I know I'm gonna forget half this everyday I barely remember to take my multi vitamin lol
Great video however, a suggestion would to talk about when are these supplements should be taken
Each day.
Most have directions
I feel like the energy drink companies knew about taurine a while ago
It’s added to energy drinks to allow the cardiovascular system to help cope with the large amount of caffeine.
Watching in 1.5x speed thank ME later
Taurine is the best, better then creatine.
Both are good, caffeine also helps
Remember Thomas...if it's not animal source...it's incomplete
Taurine before sleep...the best
that was really good video thank you for your information
I will not eat rats!

What about ornithine alpha ketoglutarate
Creatine Monohydrate vs hydrochloride
Just get the cheapest one, usually monohydrate
Hcl tastes like ship
Creatine Monohydrate
A good Multivitamin daily
2-3g Omega-3 Fish Oil daily
Black Coffee (Pre-Workout)
A good Diet, Training regimen and Sleep
Forget the rest … 🙄🤞🏼
Are multivitamins still recommended? I take the vitamins that I'm deficient in and I stay away from the multivitamins with vitamin a and e along with unnecessary minerals.
I get most of my vitamins from beef liver and wild caught salmon and eggs who needs a multivitamin🤔
Thanks guy who withholds information based on their opinion 😂😂😂 I take HMB and it helps those that don't get a lot of calories intake/protein in. I've seen a difference on taking it and Beta-Alanine helps promote strength for kicking in that extra rep or two so next time just time if you're going to be that clicksaver dude, at least type the rest without being a Karen.
Wrong again.
@@herculesrockefeller8969who is wrong?
I take AAKG , NAC and Taurine . Not sure which one does it , but I don’t get sore . Even during heavy 3 rep max leg days
It's NAC
Definitely NAC
that *might* not be a good thing, thomas has another video about antioxidants post workout
I take my NAC ~12 hours later than my workout. I consciously avoid taking it right afterwards
Remember when you were talking about how you're not that V shred guy and that you never post with your shirt off? Pepperidge Farm remembers.
taurine increases my already prety high adrenaline responses, like stressfull situations seem even more stressfull and my body explodes with adrenaline which later results in mad fatigue. Allso causes nausea and one or two times stomach pain, which has resulted in me vomiting multiple times, one from pure taurine, other time from preworkout which had it, i now don't ever use it anymore.
That’s weird . Taurine will relax your nerves like magnesium and combat too much hypertenseness from things like glutamate .
Weird that it fatigued you with too much adrenaline
@@heythere6983 Yeah, I 2nd that. Placebo? Taurine's function is just de-stress and protect post exertion. Sounds like something else is getting consumed.
taurine+caffeine makes me hella squirrely too
@@heythere6983could be a paradoxical reaction due to genetics?
Crazy. Taurine makes me feel like shit too! Just makes me have lower mood, intolerant to stress, by itself or with caffeine does this. Try some beta alanine!

I had more arm in a full length cast when I tore my tricep off the bone. I normally take 3g of HMB per day, and decided to double it during the 8 weeks with the cast on. When it came off, the doctor was amazed at how little my are atrophied, and I told him about the HMB.
