You know. I actually really want to have a modded Wii right now. It was cool when I was a kid but I never had a Wii I just played my cousins ones, but It was so cool. I made a list with the games I want and it's actually really long.
If you don't have it written down yet, I definitely recommend Super Paper Mario. Also, it is possible to emulate the Wii, even on a small laptop (might be some performance issues depending on things). It's also not that hard to find Wii's second hand for really cheap from what I've seen (higher prices usually range ~$100-$140). I even recently was able to find an Xbox 360 for just $60, with no problems with the console at all.
My 13 year old Wii works without a hitch. it has fallen 5 feet(albeit on carpet) many times over. It was a 2009 Christmas present! It has sat for a year plus, but it still works!
I have a white wii softmodded and I have a hard drive with 1TB I loaded it up with games from wii, gamecube, n64, snes, nes, genisis, gb, gbc, gba and directed my wii and gamecube saves to the hard drive.
@@bumptyboi yeah i know, these are standard settings after the softmod but they are not perfect. I prefer to be able to run everything (Wii, GC, Homebrew) flawlessly from one drive (SD) with only one and the same loader (WiiFlow) And in order to do this you need the right IOS/IOP Settings ;)
@@hunterkline7972 An SD Card is more reliable, easy switchable, way more conveniant and i dont know why anybody would need more than 512 GB for their Wii but if you really want to have every single Game on there, then yeah okay, you probably have to use an external HDD, dangeling from an USB Cable 🤷♂️

I was cleaning a section of my house the day before yesterday and found a wii that I must've bought in 07'-09'. I softmodded it in a few minutes and had people over for a Mario sports tournament the same night.
I remember having the white one it broke sadly and I had tons of progress on mariokart on it I also grew up with the wiiu which has some progress on it
Did smt similar as a kid but I had a chip on the disc drive ribbon cable so I could bypass authentication and burn discs. It was always a rush to see if the ISO would work or not
When I was smaller, I would play wii with my brother all the time. It’s still in my living room. Unfortunately, the batteries in the remotes corroded and we haven’t decided to get back into it. Especially since we don’t have any nostalgic games anymore.
At the end of last year I saw this and remembered the Wii homebrew scene and how I had always wanted to hack one, nearly a year later I have a completely pimped out Wii and have done pretty much anything I have wanted to with it, I just wanted to say thank you for reminding me about this stuff. I have done so much with it and have had such a good time doing it.

Been spinning my wheels trying to softmod the vWii on my Wii U (WiiU is already softmodded), guess I have the dumb. Just want to dig out my old Wii and roll with it.
my parents sold my wii and some games for only like 50 bucks! im so mad i tried to get them not to sell it but they did anyway for only 50 bucks. could've gone for like $150.

honestly if you don’t have any purpose for using your wii you can homebrew it. thats what i did for most of the consoles I don’t use (3ds, Wii, etc.)

Just did this recently, Wii is one of the best and easiest consoles to mod.
I modded my Nintendo wii and downloaded gx loader onto it and attached a 300gb Hard drive to it and had like 500 games, even from Xbox and PS
