Could have encouraged him to do it himself it's not as hard as it looks. I was overwhelmed with the steps but my friend helped me out a little on the side. that's nice of you to do though
Some people genuinely don’t know how to do certain things on the computer/3DS or they could even be nervous that they’ll do something to mess it up. I modded my Vita a few years back but had to get a friend to help me and I would tell them what to click on for me since the text is very tiny. Some people just need some help and that’s okay, although I completely agree that if it’s something you believe you could teach yourself to definitely go for it.

I love doing thing myself because I'm understanding what I'm doing. If you showed this guy a WAD file (Wii channel) then they wouldn't have any idea what it is. If they did it themselves, they would know what a WAD file is.

Homebrewing a console is so easy now that it only took me about 25 minutes to get homebrew working on my 3DS. I was even able to get my Switch jailbroken and it was incredibly easy
I audibly sighed at this knowing resellers have fucked the market for old consoles and whatnot, let alone the real difficulty of homebrewing (which is literally the only way to get 3ds games without spending your life savings)

Specifically I’m mainly talking about the NDS Pokémon games, so they’re really hard to get at this point, before BDSP dropped the OG diamond and pearl were going for over 100$ for each copy. But the 3DS Pokémon games are all slowly starting to creep up in price now as well

Home brewing is very very easy but you need a computer, which a lot of people don’t have. I have to visit my dad’s house to use his laptop to do mine. Aside from that, it only takes about an hour to hack.

Homebrewing a console is so easy now that it only took me about 25 minutes to get homebrew working on my 3DS. I was even able to get my Switch jailbroken and it was incredibly easy
