    The Wii sensor bar is a device used with the Nintendo Wii gaming console. Despite its name, the sensor bar doesn't actually have any sensors in it. Instead, it contains a pair of infrared (IR) LEDs (light-emitting diodes) that emit infrared light. The Wii remote, also known as the Wiimote, has a sensor at the front that detects the infrared light emitted by the sensor bar.
    Here's how the Wii sensor bar works:
    Placement: The sensor bar is typically placed above or below the TV or display screen. It should be positioned where it is visible to the Wii remote.
    Infrared Light: When the Wii console is turned on, the sensor bar emits infrared light. The light is not visible to the human eye, but the Wii remote can detect it.
    Wii Remote Detection: The Wii remote has a sensor at the front that receives the infrared light from the sensor bar. By tracking the position and movement of the infrared lights, the Wii remote can determine its position relative to the sensor bar.
    Motion Tracking: The Wii remote's accelerometer and gyroscope sensors combine with the information from the sensor bar to track the motion and orientation of the remote. This allows users to interact with games by pointing, swinging, and performing various motions with the remote.
    It's worth noting that the Wii sensor bar is not essential for all Wii games. Some games rely more on button inputs and motion sensing capabilities of the Wii remote, while others may use the sensor bar for more precise pointing and motion tracking.
    If you have any specific questions or would like further information, feel free to ask!

    I may still be a bit confused, but that means the Wiimote is not sending the informations to the sensor, but it’s actually the sensor that normally sends it to the Wiimith infrared light.
    Hence why the « sensor » technically isn’t’ needed, and other infrared sources can be used to send the infrared to the wiimote, which is moving compared to what she receives, and detects it.

    You can also plug in a classic controller (or guitar hero guitar or DJ hero turn table) just to navigate the Wii menu if you're not actually going to play any games that require pointing the Wii remote. Although this is more of a band aid fix.

    if you need it just to get into a game, you can take a tv remote and hold a button down and hold it as far apart from the wii mote as you can, the little infrared bulb on the top of the tv remote works like a sensor

    If you have any nintendo labo you can use your joycon as a sensor bar
    Go to the garaje, and connect a "no" nod with an "emit infrared light" then if you see the joycon camera have a red light, It worked
    Just point your Wiimote to the joycon camera and thats it

    The sensor bar is just reference point for the controller sensor to pick it up and be able to track where you are pointing it at

  • @unnamedmessenger9056
    @unnamedmessenger9056 Před 3 lety

    You only need one candle, the Wii sensor bar doesn’t actually send any information back-and-forth. The Wii sensor bar simply sends out infrared light into the room, the remote then sees that infrared light and interprets it as the center of the screen, then the Wii remote wirelessly communicates to the wii exactly where it’s pointing In relativity to the infrared source. The fact that there are two points of infrared sources on the actual Wii sensor is just for accuracy, the truth is You could get the same effect with a single little candle

    I've heard people say the remote actually tracks it itself, and the sensor bar is just there to help it track more accurately. I mean it kind of makes sense since the switch also doesn't have a sensor bar
    it might be wrong, it's just what I've heard, I'm not a tech expert

    • @DieserEineee
      @DieserEineee Před měsícem +1

      It‘s kinda wrong. The tracking in the Wii uses only gyro sensors. These track motion, but have to be calibrated once in a while. The Wiimote also hat gyro sensors, but they don’t handle anything related to pointing. Everything on the Wii that is related to pointing is handled by the sensorbar and wiimoted hidden camera on top of the controller. The gyro sensor is mostly used for things like swinging or sometimes aiming
