It’s so sad how you can tell he looked guilty when he said that he used a vape pen at night... because of the “taboo” within the community. Being in the Navy, I get it... I just don’t understand why. Dakota, and others, have made the ultimate sacrifice, so if a little THC helps them ease their mind, who the fuck cares?

Try MDMA, I can assure you if you take it and when you’re “high” start confronting the things that have traumatized you. I didn’t realize until I found out it helped PTSD but I took it and one night I started thinking about how my mom neglected me for her fiancé and the relief was insane, I didn’t care anymore. Unfortunately I’ve been through even more trauma from her and it’s back but I plan on taking it again one day. Really hope you try it IF you need to. Even if you’re basically normal, if you have some bad thoughts from what happened, do it. You will forgive yourself and everyone involved, I promise. God bless. Hope you’re doing great buddy! ❤️

  • @teenageapocalypseusa5368

I am someone who had led a pretty sheltered life but from years 11 to 22 experienced enough to put me permanently in a neurotic, alert state. I explained it to a psychologist once and they said they were exhausted just listening to me and couldn’t imagine what it must be like to live it. A simple walk with the dogs is not just a simple walk. It’s a torturous experience where a loose dog may run and attack us at any point and the owner may pull a gun on me if I stop it with my taser. It’s so exhausting to be stuck in a permanent threat loop. Maybe I should get this shot.

There's a lot of research by MAPS in MDMA assisted psychotherapy and the data is really promising. It's in 3rd phase trials and treatment could be legal by 2022. In the studies, 65% of patients who took it didn't have ptsd anymore vs only 20% for those who took placebo.
In the meanwhile, try ketogenesis or low carb diet. I have ptsd and have been on it for a week and it has reduced a lot of the inflammatory symptoms, anxiety, and sleep troubles I've been having.
I don't recommend doing this because it is illegal, but if you were to anyway, (shrooms/acid/MDMA), to be safe, do a small dose to get your feet wet and understand the chemical and slowly increase the dose. This will reduce risk to a negligible level.

Or even take a few grams of psilocybin (shrooms). That has been known to help greatly with PTSD as well. These psychedelics have the ability to rewire neural pathways, definitely worth a shot.

This is going to sound strange, but I know a guy who served two tours in Iraq/Afghanistan and he was as PTSD as you can get. His biggest issue was that he was so used to getting jacked up for a fight every single morning to cope with the 18 hours of combat he was facing. He did that for 36 months. When he came home, he couldn't break that cycle. It was in the "automatic" column, not the "voluntary" side. He had no enemy to focus his rage on. So he found this group that found an enemy to fight. Feral hogs. All over the country, especially in Texas where he's at, has a terrible feral hog problem. Hogs are very intelligent, clever, tough, elusive with excellent hearing, vision and smell. He found a worthy enemy. He goes out every single weekend and kills these vermin. So, not only is he helping the farmers and ranchers out, he is using all that combat rage and getting that rush he always got. He told me that is saved his life. That is the strange part I warned you about. During the week he scouts, talks to others about it, talks to the ranchers to gather intel, he trains and preps his gear...just like he did in combat. And that combat rage is slowly melting away. I don't see him very often, but when I do at the VA hospital, he is changing so much in my eyes. An amazing story. If you know of someone in that situation, have them Google search it. It will help them!

That’s not good mate, that’s just feeding his trauma. Seriously, that’s really not good... That will only last so long until he needs something better. I was driving yesterday and just started crying, the pills they give me just make me feel like another person so I stopped taking them. I do smoke weed and it helps but it’s not legal where I am. I’m 100% disabled so I do get some money but I don’t think I will ever work again because I will sweat so much that if I did an interview they would look at like I’m crazy. I don’t know what to do.

Djuan Benjamin Hey man I understand what u are going thru. I’m also a 100 % service connected Army Vet. The best thing to do is talk to someone and be the most knowledgeable u can be in mental health. Just know what you are feeling will never go away, just find ways to cope with it and live the best life u can. When I first got out I didn’t feel like I didn’t have anything to live for. Was on anti depressants for 2 years and hated it. It wasn’t until my friends had me take an ecstasy pill (MDMA) that I had my reset. It was the best anti depressant ever. It gave my mind the reset it needed to go on with life. I’m not for doing drugs on the daily but if a street drug can help u reset, I’m all for it. Just remember that you still have a mind that works and it could be worse. It’s always going to be one step forward and two steps back. Just keep on moving.

I had PTSD for about 7 months after I had cancer. Yes I had same thing at night. It is because your brain switches to subconscious thinking and it scares the shit out of you everything that happened. You never shit your pants when you're almost in a car accident. It's a half mile down the road when reality kicks in and you realize you shat yourself.

Rich83, I totally understand where you're coming from. I'm a cancer survivor of 14yrs. Two weeks into chemotherapy and radiation, I was walking down the hospital corridors, and I started sweating, and having chest pains. I thought I was having a heart attack. To this day when I have pain somewhere, I think it has come back. I still have trouble walking into a hospital, or even going to a doctor's appointment. What's so sad is that some people don't care, including family members.

meditation skill is capable of calming or activation of nerve centers in the brain. im happy they have a surgical procedure to help, but even better would be how to train people to be capable of recovering and being resilient to stress. Also research using MDMA and psylocybin has excellent results, in many cases permament change after only 1 or 2 sessions. our entire society is super stressed out and it's not getting better, I hope we explore all available options, esp ones that encourage self control over the situation, that's the best outcome.

I had an alcohol issue when I was serving. My leadership told me to go to mental health and tell them about my issue. I ended up getting medically discharged and losing my clearance just for trying to find help. I could have had a nice contracting job or preferably, stayed in and served my country till retirement. If you are active duty and they tell you to "get help", do not. You will lose your career and your lifeline to other options. It is a terrible double standard that the military pulls on you. Reach out to friends, family, or other active duty. The military will only hold you as long as you are an asset.
