Heidlersburg, PA FS 2T22B Siren Test- Alert- 6/6/20

I was planning on visiting Littlestown's 2001 today, but was running short on time, so I decided to play it safe and come back here to hear the lemon in alert. I tried to get a somewhat distant recording of it and I think it turned out pretty well, especially the reverb off the buildings.

Sirens in Adams County are tested on the first Saturday at noon: alert on even months, attack on odd months.

They must have either not enough power going to it or the brush angle set really far back than normal. Sounds like a carter or gents this way. I like it.

On Friday I found an Abandoned Thunderbolt 1000 siren on Glen Rock Road route 216 just outside of Glen Rock heading toward I-83. It has some rust on it and the wires are cut. I have no idea what they used it for.

Short answer is this: I think it is, it was just redone a few years ago, but I've gone twice and nothing's happened.

If i recall thats on the opposite side of the state that Luke Lives in I Also live here but i dont get a chance to go out and record siren tests much. Personally I would love to go record it before its Siratone Controls eat the dust

They used to have a Model 2 mounted on the antenna pole.
And the tone (not the pitch) of the siren seems strange, it doesn't sound like a normal 2T22. Listen to the wind up and down, it has weird over/undertones.

This siren is single phase, meaning that it sounds lower pitched.
