    I have several ships. This one was my first Pirates line ship. The shark, btw, has also been used in one of the LEGO Agents sets. The only thing is that the shark in that set is a robot. It’s highly sought after.

      I don’t think the sharks in agents were robot, they were just actual sharks with lasarbeams on their heads like from Austin powers

    As much as I loved pirates as a kid a few years before this, I never really had any full-scale ships that were produced by LEGO. You are right that this is the only appearance of the mermaid tail in earth green, aside from the 2009 Pirates Advent calendar. This is also the case for the 1x6 brick w/ inside bow and "flag with holders" in "New Dark red" (or wine red as you call it). Two of the ship's base components in "reddish brown" are exclusive to it. The row boat in earth blue appears in two other sets from this theme, and that design of shark appeared in an "Agents" set (8633) from the year before, but nowhere else.

      Hmm cool, yeah the pirate sets are really good for the most part imo. And yeah that shark is pretty unique, cool he can fit a full minifig in him lol

    This feels like a more complete and detailed version of the Brick Bounty from 2015. Too bad they never had a second wave of this or the 2015 set. They may then say that they would run out of idea but there’s a easy solution, spread out all medium to large sets in a 3 year cycle and have a 3 year life cycle so you always have one on the market, maybe switch one concept to another then back for more variety while a lot 5-30 dollar sets to pad out the theme. This is a bit how they did the police stations with a gap like the 2008 and 2011 police waves but you spread it out instead so you have a large pirate, imperial outpost and a islander volcano in the first year, a imperial fort, a smaller $50 pirate ship and a shipwreck island in the second year and a imperial ship, a islander island and a pirate base in the third year or something like that.

    Hopefully by the end of this week, I will know exactly how many old school Lego Pirate ships that I have, I do have this one 6243 BNIB, I have 3 I believe from the 90's when my kids were small, I also believe that I have one more that is brand new, fingers crossed it is a good one.

      Thats awesome man, Pirates by far is one of the most expensive themes to buy when the sets retire

    The barracuda is the classic pirate ship but this is slightly better in my opinion.

    I am trying to decide wether I should get the brick bounty from 2015 or brick beard’s bounty from I think 2009?

    • @TieTheLegoGuy
      @TieTheLegoGuy  Před 3 lety

      Both are good and nearly identical, I'd go with whichever ones cheaper

    • @o.astudios1085
      @o.astudios1085 Před 3 lety

      I decided to go with a cheaper LEGO pirate ship which in my opinion is the best pirate ship out there, I got pirates of barracuda bay, it’s technically a shipwreck but most of you know that you can transform it into the black seas barracuda which is my favorite pirate ship

    • @o.astudios1085
      @o.astudios1085 Před 3 lety

      For the brickbounty from 2015 was about 220$ and the brick beards bounty was about 250-300$ and the pirates of barracuda bay set was 200$ so still pricey but cheaper than the rest, another ship that I have considered getting is the imperial flagship which I think is the biggest LEGO ship

    • @TieTheLegoGuy
      @TieTheLegoGuy  Před 3 lety

      That i think is the best choice, I like the Barracuda more than both 2015 and 2010 pirate ships, and its cheaper. The imperial flagship is amazing, and on par with the 2020 Barracuda but is stupid expensive lol, good choice again man 🔥

    • @TieTheLegoGuy

      Ebay and Bricklink mainly, but most of them come from my personal collection, bought them when they came out, helps with this series of reviews lol
