    This marks the first time I've reviewed a Dynafit product and I'm super excited about what they're creating. They're obviously well known in the skimo and mountain adventure realm, and their trail running gear is following the established reputation as being well made and durable. I'm really enjoying the Alpine but it isn't without its issues. What do YOU think?

    Anyone try the Dynafit Alpine yet? It was a nice surprise for me and I’m really looking forward to trying the Ultra 100 next!

      Fit is too weird for my big feet :S Too bad because I really like the concept...same as with Salomon, please make a light, sleek shoe that can actually fit my size 13 feet pls!

      I tried the Ultra 100s on at a local demo and liked them enough to buy a pair. They come in today. They are pretty hard to find. They felt like a cross between the North Face Enduris and the Hoka Speedgoat.

    Their Vertical shorts are the lightest and comfiest pair of running shorts I own, I use them primarily for road running since I mostly run on asphalt.
    I knew nothing about their shoes, so thank you for this review.

    I own the Dynafit Feline SL, and it's my favorite shoe for short distance routes with heavy scrambling. The speedlace system with the "heel preloader" there makes it easy to loosen up the fit a bit for "normal" running, and tightening it up to a super precision fit for super technical and scrambling parts. The Feline SL fits noticably wider than the Alpine.

    I also run in the Dynafit Alpine, one of my favourite trail runners! It's so responsive and fast on technical terrain with an unparallaled grip on rocks. Also very comfortable, could possibly run long distances with it as well, possibly a 100k. I have no problem with sizing, same as most of my shoes. But I don't like the fit that much, tightening laces doesn't do anything to accomodate fit, and they don't have an extra ear at the top to lock the heel. They could've been a perfect shoe... For fit I love the Feline Up Pro, total lockdown, insanely responsive, Megagrip, for really fast stuff when you need precision and ground feel. Alpine is somewhat in the middle ground, can handle anything well. I also use some other equipment from Dynafit and love their gear overall, fleece, jackets, waterproof, shorts... Looking forward to trying the new coming Ultra 50 and Transalper shoe soon. It's nice to see you review something from more Alpine-Euro based brands.

    I love the alpine. It's a simple, fast and gribby shoe. I think the cushioning is perfect. One of my fav. shoes for lots of trails.

    I’ve burned through several pairs of Feline SL (the perfect short/middle distance muddy/rough trail shoe IMHO) and a couple pair of alpine pros (my go to mtn/alpine running shoe) - the Pomoca sole on them is the ‘grippiest’ ive ever had but they also wear out quickly. My love for the shoes has led my to try a lot of their other clothing and equipment and I’ve never been let down. For me, they fit better and are more durable than Salomon or LaSportiva equivalents

  • @TrailrunnerTroy
    @TrailrunnerTroy Před 3 lety

    Thanks for your review! While I found this model a little harsh, I really love the Alpine DNA version. It’s lighter and much more forgiving on harder rock. Grip is superb on slick rock and also in mud. These are shorter distance shoes - that is, less than 20 mile adventures. The Feline Up Pro is maybe the best of all but only for shorter racing. All of them - go up a full size!

    I really like the shoes but am a tweener in one model...a bit long but width (comfort is like a sock)
    The DNA model for me is much m0re comfy with the stretch material as my foot volume feels no tightness but stable.....have not run in either yet. 1 size up seems fine.
    I am curious as to how the Saloman Pulsar will compare with the Dynafit Alpine DNA as far as total overall comfort. DNA model looks like a work of Art..my Speedgoat is sticking his tongue out at me now.

    • @imrevadasz4564
      @imrevadasz4564 Před 3 lety

      Most Dynafit shoes are meant to have a "precision" fit, for super technical Alpine trails, with scrambling parts etc.. The Alpine is definitely tighter than the Feline SL, and very likely the Ultra 100.

    That marketing explains the sizing issue! They're accommodating for the inevitable blisters and foot swelling that results from the pain of wearing their shoes!

      @@imrevadasz4564 yes! They have a similar approach to La Sportiva to trail running. They are usually meant for mountain/alpine running not rolling hills with soft ground. If you are running over no fall zones, those are the shoes you usually want to have on your feet, regardless if the shoe laces are not so good 😉.
