- Kratos and Atreus don't get along well because the child has been doing a lot of stuff behind his father's back. Not because he wanted to, but because he had to. Eventually Kratos confronts him and Atreus talks back like he has never before and acts in a certain way...

This scene really feels like that super awkward moment where you watch your friend arguing with their parents right next to you. They really nailed that perfectly.
What’s also akward is that they are talkin about the shit odin did and odin’s literally just there listening to them😂 the acting is so akward now
You see, Atreus put all his strength into thar last push because he was trying to escape an ass-whooping worthy of the gods.
The belt of chaos almost got whipped out
@@ItsDe_De💀
@@ItsDe_De now if kratos used realm shift he can dish out double the ass whooping
@@killerisawsome2918 💀💀💀💀💀
once kratos said *”B O Y !”* the only option was to escape
You could almost see the immediate FEAR in Atreus as soon as he heard the word "BOY!" being yelled at him.
I mean after that I would also run lmao
I don't think it was fear, but disappointment. Look at how he shakes his head after kratos yells for him.
I’m guessing Charlie wasn’t paying attention at all during the Jotunheim chapter which explain why Atreus had that sudden attitude shift
Charlie wasn’t paying attention? What else is new?
Idk why people include his reactions in these videos it’s completely redundant and stupid.
Although then I remember people even watch that guys reviews.
He said that because as he said Atreus doesn’t have to open up about everything just some bits like the death prophecy and didn’t have to be such an asshole to Kratos. But again he’s a teenager
Dude never pays attention...idk why people like this dude 😂
@@xxhopexx2002 because people have opinions?
I understand what atreus means he wants to protect his father instead of watching him die so he’s trying to find a way to prevent it and he keeps it a secret because it will mess up the timeline if kratos knows he’s going to die
But doesn't atreus know that Kratos knows he's going to die?
@@deathslayer5813 No, it eas confirmed in Helheim that Atreus didn't knew that Kratos knew about prophecy.
I mean, it was obvious since Jotunheim Chapter where he was horrified by Kratos' death.
Kratos already knew he was going to die. He was the one who saw the fucking mural before Atreus.
But him not saying where he was, might have changed things for the better. Because of "Tyr" heard, shit would have been bad for Angraboda probably.
Atreus is still a piece of shit though. Most of his sections were just so linear and forced. No one asked for this shit.
@@deathslayer5813 No remember when Kratos saw the last mural in the last game he was the only one that saw it while Atreus was already getting ready to head towards the peak. Atreus saw that mural for the first time in this game and assumed Kratos never saw it either

@KingOfSelf91 yeah I was a dumbass 8 months ago.
This title doesn’t fit the whole situation correctly. Atreus is burdened with a secret that he had to learn to keep. Even from his father. You can tell that he does not want his father dead and his father and company being distrustful really soured his mood.
Exactly.
Yeah, Atreus could have explained it better. But everyone assuming the worst and jumping on him put him on the defense, and between that and the fact that he's a literal teenager... small wonder he lashed out.
But he can tell them so much more than he's letting on while keeping that prophecy a secret, he keeps tip toeing around the conversation and give no leverage to the communication. Its selfish, arrogant, and lacking in logic.
@@slipstream5762 I get what you mean but it is not like he didn't have much of a choice, Kratos pretty much have been trying to Atreus safe and not wanting him believing in prophecies that would make him keep finding about himself as Loki. Push comes to shove in this case and god knows what would have happened if Atreus had stayed and listen to his father he wouldn't have end up meeting Heindall,Skjoldr and Thor's daughter.
And to be fair part of this is Kratos to blame since in the last game he saw 1 of the murials that showed him his death and never to bother to tell his son about it since then.
Nah, dude. Even Atreus had secrets to keep from the other, doesn't mean he must lashing out and turn into bear, hit a friend who always protect your back behind your father and destroy his home. I know he's still teenager but Atreus really need to be aware of his actions.
@@pal. Imagine telling a kid god going through adolescence carrying the burden of wanting to protect his father but having to keep it a secret and is being 1v4'd by grown adults to be more aware of his actions when he has an emotional outburst 💀
From what I’ve seen female gamers are more like understanding while guy’s are like “this is why I ant having kids” 😂😂😂😂
Proof that girls are smarter. (I'm a boy, btw)
Because females are usually the ones always dealing with emotion so it's not a surprise they'd understand this
@@markellhawthorne2921 Women are about as intelligent as men. What people know is based more on circumstance and what they are willing to learn, rather than their biological sex. Their reaction to this proves nothing.

@@markellhawthorne2921 Nobody asked, shut up.
Damn, seeing Mimir so mad makes me all goosebumps
The beauty of the scene is that neither side is wrong, and neither side is right. And part of the arc is both of them learning that sometimes you have to just trust. Way too many people also act like Atreus is just a teenager being raised today on minecraft and middle school watching cartoon network. He's living in a "time" where by his age he IS an adult, and he's been raised to hunt, as a warrior, to kill, and etc for his entire life. At his age he's already lived through and been through things most people have never. And yet despite him being more of a "man" than most men in the game, his father is an ultra god that he can never reach up to.
This game is also about Kratos learning that he can't see him as a baby anymore.
^this right here, finally someone with a brain
@@X340n right. Kratos himself admitted it at the end.
The "what the f*ck" reaction from brok is just legit. Its so good
3:23 I have a feeling every man who had a disciplined childhood immediately turned around when they reached this part for the first time.
When kratos went "BOOOY!" It gave me flashbacks of being a brat and my father got pissed off and I froze. Lmao
Almost no damn "gamer" here knows anything about paying attention.
Atreus is a teenager who is dealing with "end of the world" type scenario. He WILL act out on his own. It would have been weird as hell if he hasn't tried anything at this stage.
Finally someone talking sense
Na
It’s just good acting and good story writing
That was the point where the player had to really be mad at him because of his attitude.
But either that’s how Modern teenagers react, thinking they are always right. But he realized at the end that he was wrong acting that way.
they got the charisma, sadly that's the only thing most streamers have.
These people have reasonable reactions to this scene as Atreus was lashing out, called Kratos an asshole, said he was going to Asgard with Odin, hit sindri(for no reason), and ran away. Obviously he’s a teenager but that doesn’t mean these CZcamsrs and streamers can’t hate him for the way he acted in this scene.
And? We should just like when someone acts out?
I hate how most gamers are simple minded when it comes to video game storytelling. They’re acting like Atreus is completely in the wrong and is just being annoying for no reason. First of all he’s still a child, not only that but he’s faced with the pressure of the literal apocalypse and a future where his dad dies. Of course he’s wants to do something about it. And on top of that everyone is ganging up on him. Not just the gamers but the characters within the game. Of course he’s gonna lash out. Kratos is giving him nothing in return he’s just telling him to obey obey obey with no freedom of his own. Put some actual thought into the story and what it’s trying to convey.
true most big youtubers who got to this part usually called him a bitch but they forget he’s still young and has many things to learn
Exactly
I wouldn’t say Kratos is giving him nothing.
Kratos gave him the chance to lead and found “Tyr”
And as a father he truly asking for his son to tell him the truth. In a world where literal Ragnarok is coming and Odin wants them either dead or comply to his command while Atreus is not only the son of the Ghost of Spart, the only true weakness to Kratos.
He needed to open up to him. But he should have done it somewhere secluded.
THANK YOU!
None of that really justifies how he was being a bitchy kid, but how Kratos and the others handled it was really bad that even Odin knew that if he sided with them he'd go to Asgard
Cory is so true if I ever talked back to my dad like that I would be with harambe.
"I would be with harambe" 😭😭 that's hilarious

BOOOYY!!!!
That needs to be a mod if they decide to put this game on PC, Kratos holding either a belt or a chancla
“This is why I don’t want kids”😂 I agree to that.
Atreus turned around and saw sheer terror staring at him. He had to commit at that point to escape the wrath of the belt of chaos.
From Atreus's point of view, he just dream shifted himself to Jotunheim, met one of the last giants there, shown a prophecy of his dad's death and told not to mention this to anyone, Not even to his own father. Had Atreus spilled the beans, Odin would have known of this, find a way to get there and kill what's left of the giants since Angraboda still had the marbles holding the giant's soul.
Being a teenager under a lot of pressure is a &%$£@...
People need to understand that he's a teenager and he's going to act out.
Thank you finally somebody understands
@@brianpope7912Even I had my moments with my parents.
theres a difference being a typical first world teenager and a teenagr living throught the end of the world and facing the might of the gods lmao
@@TenshiNoAme Yeah, that only explains Atreus actions even more.
I don't like kids much myself, but even I understand him acting out isn't out of the ordinary. Kids always do that.
Its funny that no one acknowledging the fact that kratos had finally said Boy after not saying it the whole game
Except cory(he was literally the only one who pointed it out)
I understand where Atreus is coming from, and also his dad and the rest. There’s a reason Atreus goes rouge like that because every time he wants to open up to his dad his dad shuts him down. And for that he keeps secrets from him. And his dad shuts him down because he doesn’t want anything to happen to his son. And for that he shows Atreus tough love. It’s so complicated and I’m going through the same thing with my parents and family going against my younger siblings. They weren’t raised like how we older ones were raised so they react just like Atreus. Where as we were raised to “shut the heck up, sit down, listen and obey.” Both side understandable but if you want to have a conversation, it’s a two way street. Don’t just lecture, also take the time to listen to the other side. And vise versa. Sometimes I just wish I only understand one side, because understanding both side it drives me nuts because now I’m in the middle of a mess I don’t want to be in. And definitely don’t want to choose side when they’re all your family. Sheeeeeesh!🤦🏾
Well look at the brightside. You will be much more successful than your younger siblings. If they don't mature the fuck up, they aren't going to last longer than a month in a respectable job lol. I know this because both my sisters are immature in one form or another, and the eldest has minimum wage and the other is currently unemployed.
"As you can see, NO ONE wants to play as Atreus right now"
Bruh, that was TWO PEOPLE
Three, I hated playing Atreus; I hated him in this game. Don’t care if he’s young. How often do we look back and think how much of a birch we were? It’s the same thing, and it doesn’t make him a good character, either.
No teenager is dumb enough to do what he does. "Oh, my dad died, and I work for Odin. I will work for Odin to ensure that doesn't happen."
1:30 right on the spot🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
3:56 forgot i had headphones on 😂
Even I winced when Kratos bellowed "BOY!!!!" at the top of his lungs
I don't like how you phrase that title in this video. After Atreus witness the murial's prophecy of his father dying he's trying to keep him safe. This is not the same young Atreus who is brash and impulsive (sort of).
Xqc didnt want to play as him, because he was just playing him earlier
These reactions don’t make a whole lot of sense to me because people just seem to be ignoring the fact that Atreus was teleported to the ironwood (against his will), then had to promise to keep a secret to ensure the survival of his species… a secret Kratos is not threatening to disown him over if he does not divulge. In his eyes he’s only trying to do the right thing, and everyone in his home is seemingly against him. It makes total sense that he would be so upset. Yes, there are certain things he could have said or did to handle the situation better, but he’s just a teenager, he’s not perfect
As someone who's parents would whoop the ass of if I acted that way, I understand their reactions. Atreus needed to be disciplined for his overly aggressive and arguably irrational outburst.
By no means is Atreus perfect and his reaction would not be uncommon, but life is about constantly learning and improving from your mistakes, and having a parent disciplining his or her child if they act irrationally or aggressively makes the process immensely easier and more effective. Not doing so could be considered a form of parental neglect, a literal form of child abuse.
Simply put, the streamers reactions to calling Atreus a b*tch were justified, as Atreus was acting in a way that would deserve an ass whooping that could even punish Zeus.
I would also like to add that I do understand why Atreus would be upset, but I would also like to say that he should of also been more open-minded and thought about why his father and friends would also be upset.
@@theinvisiblebrick636He was open minded though, and was even open about not going to Asgard and only considering it.
It's just that nobody believes him, Kratos doesn't believe him to the point that he basically threatens to disown him. I'd say that's a pretty big leap on their end considering his general honesty and open mindedness.
You can't have a bunch of adults gang up on a teen, being very hypocritical (everyone in there has secrets/had secrets between both games, and Atreus was the only one consistently open minded about them despite that, but they don't extend him the same courtesy) and expect it to go well. That's not how teens are built, and any of us who have been teens know that when you have a point, even if you're wrong on other things, you're going to die on that hill with no compromises. It's how being a teen works lol.
I like the way you presented the reactors, pretty unique
I only watch Jacksepticeye's playthroughs because of how interested and invested he is in everything from the story and lore to almost every sidequest, and also his understanding of the characters. No disrespect to other gamers but sometimes it feels like some of them just play the game for the sake of playing.
Eddie always has the best reactions as u can tell he luvs these games and characters but sometimes they drive him nuts XD!
i love how Tyr/Odin is just watching
If I ever heard my dad yell at me with that BOYYY I would be running too

Its like some of them dont even pay attention to the story atreus is probably severely stressed out at this point due to the heavy weight of the secrets he has to keep from his father and everybody else and the whole reason hes doing that is to try and protect and save kratos from his death and to have the person your trying to save try to stop you from doing it probably dosnt help either, yeah calling him an asshole probably wasnt the best thing to do but hes a teenager and teens do dumb things the best thing for him to do was to run to lessen the risk of him folding and telling the secret of ironwood

Atreus could have explained better and calmer why he wants to go to Asgard like he did after he got the mask...be a spy and learn more about Odin since he was invited in the first place so at least the others can plan something out instead he thinks he's the champion ( thanks to tyr/odin) and the one to stop Odin...calling his father an asshole hell no he's lucky Kratos didn't slap him thru all the nine realms
Are u dumb I atreus said the secret he keep odin would know iron wood exist lol
So shut up is not your life is a game
Every one was attacking him. He couldn't tell them about iron wood which yea made it worse, and reveal it's location. Especially with Odin as Tyre. It's not irregular for teenagers to lash out. Also he doesn't know Kratos already knows he would die(which he doesn't). People like you need to think about how you were like as teenager and think before judging a kid that has his heart in the right place.
Ima be honest, the person talking about Atreus relationship, he looks like Atreus
That's lying by omission, Charlie.
You literally look like him
as someone who was a teen with a very strict parent once I can see Loki's point of view but i have to say the reactors are 100% right too you shouldn't talk back to your parents they sacrifice ALOT for you things you might not even be aware of.
like i said i 100% get where atreus is coming from but it's not that hard to at least let kratos know "hey I went to a shrine or to see the giants and to just trust me" like i get it but kratos is worried sick about his kid.
and you have to remember he's lost one already, to lose another one would be the death of him.
He made a promise not to reveal the existence of the land of the giants so he can't tell kratos or anyone where he went 😐
He literally can't tell kratos anything
But kratos was In jothiniem in 2018 and he already saw his prophecy before him? So really Atreus makes no sense he is legit a poorly written character

Atreus is 15. The “still a child” excuse doesn’t work. His actions don’t make sense. He saw a prophecy of Kratos dead and him with Odin, yet he wants to go to Odin? Because of Odin, Tyr is mentally broken, Freya’s life was destroyed, and Mimir is a TALKING HEAD!
Also, did Atreus just forget that Sindri’s house is a safe haven from Odin’s grip?
I get that Tyr turned out to be Odin but that’s beside the point
I loved playing as Atreus. Y’all just like completely about nothing. His plan worked fr anyway
I’m so glad I wasn’t the only one hating it
So atres discovers Kratos dies and he will serve Odin. So his best idea in order to prevent this is.... running from home an head straight into Asgard? I completed the game and still didn't understand this stupid motivation
I mean if he was in Asgard, with the guys who kill his dad, he could try to sabotage them at most or keep an eye on them at least.
@@josu6270 But if you don't want to serve Odin, you keep yourself out of Asgard and far away from Odin. I feel this was a weak point in the history
You know part of this is also Kratos to blame as well since he knew before hand of his death back in the previous game and didn't bother to tell Atreus about it, Hell not even Mimir as well. Its important for families to communicate and trust each with other.
as he himself said, he wanted answers, which later on does help him in saving his dad
Atreus deserves at least 20 whoopings from theast game alone.
If my father screamed "boy" to me like that i would have shit my pants right there
the fact that the devs made us play as atreus makes me question if Kratos will continue to be the main protagonist of God of War
TBF Kratos has pretty much reached the end of his character arc.
So I don't think it would be much of an issue even if the next game is focused on Atreus by any chance.
@@anjaneyasreetrout2444 I genuinely hope it does not lead up to that. Especially as a day 1 fan, following Kratos through out all these years and to see him pass on the torch is unnecessary. Atreus: Being a teenager (basically a jerk)
Let's players who have been through adolescence: Just tell the truth man 🤣🤣🤣

why does he look like atreus
I think most people are unfair to Atreus in this scene. After learning of a prophecy where his father dies and he becomes a servant to Odin and a looming inter-realm war and having kept a secret of the Jotnar Shrines from his father for a while he is under a lot of mental and emotional stress but can't tell anybody why. He attempts to open up about what he believes he should do and is immediately antagonized by everyone. He may have started yelling first, but he is the child and they are the adults and should not raise their voice at him if they wanted to de-escalate the situation. All this strain causes him to snap after feeling all this hostility from his family and he runs away doing what he believe he should do to prevent the prophecy. This is later redeemed after Atreus frees Garm and Kratos does not repeat the same mistake twice dealing with his son and the relationship heals for it.
Never disliked a character like this before. Was so happy he pissed off at the end, hopefully never to be seen again
