Aqroshot for the bash, Blitzer for the looks! Both are great cars. Thanks for showing!
Yeah, the really nice hard body on the Blitzer Beetle is both a blessing and curse. It looks so good you really want one and after you get it done you are very hesitant to run it hard to protect the beautiful body!! LOL! I just got a couple lexan bodies for the BB and the MB to have for runner bodies so I can go out and enjoy them but still have the really cool bodies on there for display. Now I just have to make the runner bodies look good but not too good to where I don't want to ruin them too! LOL!!
Great RC racer and nice comparison 😉 I appreciate your visit, too 👍 Cheers
Thanks, it should be interesting to see which one goes around the track better once it dries up! Not a problem, take care!
Interesting idea! I just love a stock Blitzer Beetle though, they are so Iconic.
I think the looks and cool factor go to the BB as well. However the Aqroshot is no slouch in the looks department in person! But yeah it is hard not to love the BB, race bugs are just fun!
I like the lava lamp one. That is the extent of my RC knowledge. Party on, Addam. ☺️
LOL! That one is a super cool one and I don't run it much as I do not want to mess up the fun lava lamp body! I just got a replacemnt body for it and got it painted in a fun paint scheme but it was intended to be one to go out, get run and get beat up some! It is a bug body too but a more famous one!
Nice comparison Adam! 👍 Thanks for sharing bro. Always a pleasure to watch my friend. 👊
Thanks! I got asked the question and I was surprised by the results so I thought you all may like to know too. I just realized I was not subscribed to you... I swear I was but I fixed that!! Take care!
The Dt03 chassis design and longer wheelbase will definitely make it better handling than the BB. But the BB is just so much fun to drive and to look at.😊👍
Lighter and longer should make it a better runner but I agree the BB is just an awesome lookin bug!! I just got a couple lexan bodies for the BB and the MB to have for runner bodies so I can go out and enjoy them but still have the really cool bodies on there for display. So more on those in a little while once I can get them painted!
Hi Addam, wow! Consumer advice now too! 😂😂😂is there no end to your amazing talents 😂😂😂great comparison. Best wishes to you all 😊😊😊
LOL!! I got a question from a viewer and thought everyone would like to see how close they are and surprisingly enough to me the Aqroshot is longer by that much! Thanks so much as always for the kind words and support John!
Just a quick glance they look to be the same width and length. Those are 2 awesome looking vehicles. Thanks for the comparison 👍 👍👍
Yeah, I didn't even realize the Aqroshot was longer than the BB was and I had them sitting side by side on the shelf. When I was asked by a viewer I had to go back out and see. Width wise you can say they are the same but length wise I was kind of surprise to see the Aqroshot was just over an inch longer! It should make for an interesting head to head out there when I can run them on the track!
I have both of these and I love them both! The Aqroshot definitely feels more "in control" than the Blitzer but I don't prefer one over the other, they're both a lot of fun to drive!
I love the BB for the classic good looks and who doesn't love a race bug, they are just plain fun! I am excited to get out and drive the Aqroshot but this seems to be the winter of no driving for me! I will get them out for a head to head at some point when I can but I expect them both to do very well on the track!
Nice comparison; they’re not too far apart!👍😊
yeah, I was surprised on how close they were! The BB has always been known for its wide stance and being pretty stable due to that and I just assumed the Aqroshot was going to be a but narrower but they are almost the same width wise and that extra inch long should make the Aqroshot even more stable. Should be a good head to head shootout when I can get them out on the track together!
Nice comparison brother! Always love watching these videos.
A viewer had asked and I had no idea so when I went out to check I was kind of surprised so I thought I'd share it with you all as well!
Cool info mate and something I’ll keep in mind as I love swopping bodies 😊👍
I am sure it would work, you would just have to cheat it a little front to back.
Nice one Addam! I think the DT03 chassis will be the better but that Blitzer Beetle is 😎🔥 Great video matey 🙌🏻
Yeah, lighter, longer and with basically the same track width it should do really well!! I am looking forward to getting it out on the track. It is still raining here every couple days so eventually it will get out there!
The old back of the hand measurement.!! I have used that once or twice. 🤣 awesome cars and comparison. Super cool video my bro.!
between working as a mechanic and a cabinet maker for years I have learn the art of body part measurement in a pinch! I was pretty close too, still got it! It was a question I got from a viewer and I thought others might be interested so I toss it out there for everyone! Thanks!
Cheers Addam 😃👍 I wonder no more
Not a problem at all! I figured I could answer the question for everyone to see the difference. The Blitzer Beetle is know for its wide stance so I wanted everyone to see the Aqroshot was just as wide and a little longer.
Great comparison
I got asked by a viewer and had to go out and check for myself as I was not sure. I figured why not show it to everyone.. I was kind of surprised
Cheers for that Adam mate 👍
Not a problem! I got a good question I did not know the answer to so I brought you all along while I found out! I was surprised that they are so similar and the the Aqroshot was that much longer!
Great comparison Addam👍. I'm surprised how similar they are except for the narrow Aqroshot chassis. My favourite would have to be the Beetle, love the things in real life lol.
Thanks for sharing another Interesting video mate, We hope you're well 👍🦘🇦🇺
Me too, I had not even realized there were so close and I had them sitting side by side on the shelf! I am glad I was asked about it as now I am curious on how they do head to head on the track! I just got in the lexan bodies for the BB and the Mb so I will be working on painting them up and getting them on there to be able to run them more without worrying about ruining the beautiful hard bodies! I love a great custom bug myself, it is hard not too I think!
@@AddamsPlayground
G'day Addam,
My money is on the Aqroshot around the track but I think it's going to be close and the more I dwell on it I thinking the BB might surprise a lot of people!.
2 new body shells to build! Awesome👍😁.
That was a great comparison mate👌.
Great comparison. I'm on the side of the DT-03. But newer doesn't mean better on Tamiya models. So I'm waiting for your runs Addam.
Yeah both have some strengths and weaknesses so we will have to see how they compare head to head out on the track! It'll be a little bit before I can get them out but tis the winter months!
Hi Addam! Yeah, I agree with you about the weight distribution in the DT03, it really is about as central as you can get! I have seen the Blitzer body fitted to a DT02 which is about the same wheelbase as the Falcon chassis. Nice comparison, thanks for the upload dude! :))
I think it will be an interesting head to head once I can get them out on the track. It is still a wet mess around here I am hopeful the weather looks better for the next week so maybe we can get it dry enough they just get dirty and not covered in mud! I am about ready to just go buy a dozen or so bags of sand and sprinkle the whole track with a good bit of sand to keep the mud down!!
@@AddamsPlayground Sand? Good call, dude, I'm sure the track will love you for it! :))
@@MarkBryanRC yeah they sell a special clay that you can put down to try and dry it out but it makes everything kind of orange and when it does get dry it gets super dusty! They use it a lot on baseball fields to dry up patches before games. I don't think it is cheap either! Just trying to thing of ways to speed up the drying on everything here as I have a lot of cars I want to run but don't want them caked in mud!
I want both of these Addam really want the Blitzer the most out of the 2 love those bugs
The BB is the better looking of the two and of course a classic but I think the Aqroshot may be able to beat it out on the track!. We will have to see!
It's cool, and probably will run real nice, I love the bug though!
Yeah, I prefer the look of the BB over the Aqroshot too. I think the Aqroshot for being such an underrated and somewhat unheard of truck over here in the US I think it will be a really good one on the track. I will get them out for a head to head when I can!
Nice side by side. The king slender chassis should handle well. Looking forward to seeing it run.
I think it will have the edge out on the track but the BB may surprise us, who knows! sometime before next Christmas it should dry up enough out there to run them on the track! LOL!!
Interesting comparison.
Yeah, I didn't realize that the Aqroshot was longer, I had not even noticed but when one of the viewers asked I was surprised they are almost the same width wise and the Aqroshot was a that much longer! It should make it a really good on out on the track... eventually!
The more I see the Blitzer Beetle, the more I need one in my life...
Well go ahead and bookmark the webpage for it as I think there will be another short video with it soon...
@@AddamsPlayground how dare you make me spend money! 😜
@@canuckchuck8836 if it helps I am already over budget for the next month or so... I am just as bad as everyone else is with the "ooohhh I want that too!" While.watxhing videos!! LoL
@@AddamsPlayground hhhmmm... not sure if that helps as much as it allows me justification. "Addam's over-budget so it is ok for me too!" 😉
cool rc's and great comparisons
I was asked by a viewer and I didn't know or realize they are very close but the Aqroshot is a bit longer so it should be a good pair to go head to head on the track... eventually!
Always wanted a Blitzer Beetle
They are a really great looking buggy! I had the most fun with it at the beach, that was a ton of fun slinging sand all over the place!
Real question which one looks the coolest that blitzer beetle looks the bomb even though the aqroshot would perform better which one puts a smile on your face nice comparison bro 👊
In the looks department the the Blitzer Beetle wins! I think most people love the BB although I have heard some folks are not a fan of it. I love them all and I think in person the Aqroshot really looks great so it just loses out due to the historical cool factor of the BB and it is a race bug so that helps too!
Both very cool rigs. But imo the Blitzer Beetle is got it with character alone. lol But I agree I think Your Aqroshot will do much better driving wise?? It reminds me of the trudges of the 90's... Like the Team Associated T4 Which I still have in MY collection. ;) Cool comparison. :)
Yeah the BB wins the beauty comp easily with the classic design and who doesn't like a race bug, they are impossible to resist! The Aqroshot is 100% the old school stadium truck out of a car chassis design from back in the day. Possibly why I fell in love with it when I first saw it a year or two ago!
Both very cool
I am looking forward to getting them out on the track for a little head to head matchup. Still waiting on the track to dry up which is not going well! We get rain ever couple days but I am getting indoor project stuff knocked out so that it good!
Blitzer Beetle body looks good.
Thanks! It is a cool looking bug for sure!
This is an interesting comparison. I would give the nod to the Agroshot when it comes to racing. They both look great.
Yeah i think the lighter, longer design will give it the advantage but who knows maybe the more rear weighted BB will get better traction. I will have to get them out there and find out as soon as I can! It is hard to resist the BB fun race bug looks though!
@@AddamsPlayground I remember when you took it to the beach and it ran well there. It might have better balance.
@@michaeldorich4485 oh it is a beach machine for sure!! It might make the trip down there with us again this year!! I still have to figure out what kit to take down to build this year too. It'll be here before I know it!! Time flies...
@@AddamsPlayground Based on what you said from the vacation last year you may want to paint it before you go. Or, get one you don't have to paint.
@@michaeldorich4485 Yes! Painting at a really breezy beach house was interesting to say the least!
Nice! I have an unbuilt Beetle Blitzer waiting for me. (Is the Dt03 also the holiday buggy chassis?)👍👍👍👍
The Blitzer Beetle is a great kit, the sticker are what takes all the concentration!!
The Holiday Buggy is on the DT02 chassis which runs very well too but is a little bit narrower and about 35mm shorter. There are 3 kits on the DT03 - the Neo Fighter, the Racing Fighter an the Aqroshot
@@AddamsPlayground Awesome thank you!
Hey Adam it’s not hard to fit the stadium blitzer body on the dt03t. I have one on mine. The dt03t is much easier to drive then the stadium blitzer/thunder
Good to know! That may be a fun swap to do! Thanks for the info!!
haha, what's the odds we would both have the same cars on are table in a video on the same day albeit for different comparisons lol Oh and I got your email and replied!
LOL! Too funny! I guess we are possibly the only two in North America that have built these trucks recently so that helps a little!
@@AddamsPlayground very possible! LOL
What would you suggest for a BB Tamiya motor upgrade? And if I did what other pieces would I need to be upgraded?
I am very partial to the GT tuned motors from Tamiya but the Holmes Hobbies Retro sport 19t or 17t would be fun in there too! A HobbyWing 1060 or the Tamiya 1060 ESC will run all of those without any problems. These are pretty tough buggies so as long as you don't go hyper speed brushless it should hold up pretty well. My only suggestion is maybe get a lexan body for it for fun running and leave the hard body for on the shelf. I got mine from Team Blue Groove and it fits perfectly and it will take a lot more abuse and show less wear and tear than the hard body will.
Thank you. Much appreciated.
Hi! I’m to purchase my first RC kit since I had my hands on a hornet over 30 years ago.
I’m considering this Aqroshot or the Blitzer Beetle.
I love the look of the Beetle and heard that there are tonnes of good upgrades for it, but understand that the Aqroshot may be superior overall - newer design, newer chassis, longer wheel base giving less chance of roll, possibly better for low jumps off road etc.
Would you recommend one car over the other? Or say that they’re basically the same experience?
Any definite upgrades other than what you mentioned in this vid.
Possibly a Tamiya Sport motor or would you say that the Aqroshot is decent out of the box? I’ll be driving it on tarmac, relatively short grass and relatively smooth woodland trails, with roots to jump over etc.
Thanks in advance for any advice
Both of them are are great ones to get and pretty straight forward to build. You can get upgrades for both and the Aqroshot may be a little easier and cheaper to find replacements for if something breaks. The biggest different between the two is the body. The beetle body is a lot heavier and causes it to drive and react a bit heavier and it is much easier to damage the beetle body. The Aqroshot has the lexan shell that makes it a lot lighter. For flat ground running both would be fine but the Aqroshot may stay on its wheels when turning a bit better. The added weight of the beetle doe make it turn quicker as it has a bit more weight on the front end causing a bit less understeer. The downside to the Aqroshot is the stock tires are pretty awful, they are basically street tires but don't offer great grip on the street. It does help keep it from grabbing and flipping over on the street when turning but they also struggle for grip even more in the grass and dirt. I would honestly say either one is a great one to start back into the hobby with but first upgrade for them to make them more enjoyable is the Blitzer Beetle needs a lexan body to run around with and keep the hard shell for display to make it more fun and the Aqroshot needs a set of the Blitzer Beetle tires on it to have the grip you'll want off road. Have fun with whichever you decide to get and welcome back to the hobby!!
@@AddamsPlayground thank you bro.
I had some terrible stuff happen in my family and after seeing a counsellor, they said that as adults, we often starve ourselves of what the kid in us would love to do, and there’s no need! It’s great to bring out the inner kid and have fun - good for the soul 🥳
I haven’t touched an RC car since my cousin had a Hornet 30 years ago and remember being amazed by it, so this should be pretty cool to actually start owning and building. I’ve got a starting budget of $300-400 to it’ll be great.
@@JamesOliMindBody I am a firm believer that growing up is optional, only growing old is required! Both the Aqroshot and Blitzer Beetle are way better handling and capable than the last one you dealt with! Get one of them, a decent radio and servo and you will be so happy! I suggest getting a JIS screwdriver as well. The TAM74006 is a great one you can find on Amazon for around $10. It makes putting them together much more enjoyable. The screws are not Philips head but are JIS (Japanese Industry Standard) so having the right screwdriver helps prevent stripped screws.
Looking at them I would have guessed the wheelbase difference would have been more significant but it’s really not.
It had not even occured to me they were similar but when asked about it I had to go out and check and since I was surprised I figured more folks may be interested. I know the BB has always been known for its wide stance and stability. I will have to get them out for a head to head battle on the track when I can!
So you have a aqroshot so wheels fit blitzer beetle? Can you get road tyres for these atl
The Aqroshot wheels and the BB wheels are identical asides the color. The Aqroshot tires are a street tread but are kind of not good on any surface. Thy are not terrible but they will lose traction on pavement/concrete pretty quickly. I do not know of another street tire that will fit onto them. I run very little street tires and those ones I do run are on things like the TT02 kits so much different. I don't really have anything else to try on them to verify if they will fit.
@@AddamsPlayground really appreciate that adam I'll just stick to what I have an replace when they wear out as sounds to be the cheaper option,
Many thanks
SHAUN
So does the Acroshot have longer arms than its DT03 buggy twin?
No, same arms on it but the wheels and tires stick out further to give it a little wider stance.
@@AddamsPlayground surprised the arms aren’t longer…looks so much wider
@@muddfoot69 yeah, those wider wheels and the offset of them really push them out further than the buggy. Makes it look like much longer arms. The kits are the same just different body posts used to fit the truck body and the Blitzer Beetle style wheels.
Cant find the aqroshot whit wheels in uk atl on eBay 😢
Well that stinks! You guys usually have a better supply of parts than we do for many of the kits. I looked quickly and TTP Models has them in stock. They are a great place, I get stuff from them via eBay from time to time! ttpmodels.com/products/tamiya-58106-58482-stadium-blitzer-aqroshot-dt03t-9335110-19335110-wheel-bag-front-rear-new?_pos=4&_psq=aqro&_ss=e&_v=1.0
