As is traditional, January sees us trying vegan products so you can see what's hot and what's not. This week, we take on the humble bacon sandwich! Sound Credit: BenSounds
It’s all very subjective…I know…We all have different tastes - My view(s) 1/ So as not to offend flesh eaters ..by calling the product - bacon. some people refer to the veggie 🌱 ‘bacon’ - as just ‘rashers’ …’rashers’ being a type of cut slice.. My favourite is ASDA supermarket’s own ‘plant based’ rashers …I add a bit of smoked paprika and toasted sesame oil and a tiny bit of salt..then grill them…turning half way.. Yes, they’re not meat …I just eat them in a sandwich for breakfast now and again , and ASDA’s price £ is not as greedy as the alternatives….
Seems a very balanced and reasonable comment. We welcome comments from both sides of the argument. As you say, it’s a very subjective matter and when all is said and done… everyone will make their own choice and I’m glad we live in a country where that is possible.
There is no such thing as vegan bacon. If it isn't from pork bellies it's just a knockoff product. I have tried these vegan products. You must have better manufacturers over there. Here in the US vegan products are not very tasty.
Yes, definitely getting more choices here 🇬🇧 for vegetarian and vegan products… There’s more labelling on products now as well.. Talking of the States 🇺🇸….. Here in the U.K we used to have a vegetarian ‘rashers’ product made by an Stateside company called ‘Morning Star Farms’ …they were my favourite of all the ‘V’ ‘rashers’….The don’t sell them over here any more , sadly……I’m not certain but Morning Star Farms may have been put under the Kelloggs brand now ? ….
very nice video! maybe next time try even more alternatives, would be fun
We do veganuary every year so if there’s something specific you want us to try, just let us know!
