All kinds of buses in Havana, Cuba. - Comment below so we can all have a productive 'conversation about transportation!' Thank you for all the support!!!
Havana, many-many second hand European buses from European cities, purchased or donated, included from here Barcelona. And generally going through streets with their original colour schemes.
During the 1990s, Havana buses included Ikarus buses from Hungary, bizarre tractor trailer bus bodies on lowboy trailers nicknamed Camels, and used buses from Europe and Canada. GM fishbowls from Montreal STCUM and other Canadian transit systems stood out.
@@Novaflyer7000 they can buy newer stuff it's just that nobody wants to trade with Cuba 🇨🇺 because its a communist hellhole ranked near the bottom of the ease of doing business index. Only the US has an embargo and its not much of one...
I see a Lada sedan, Toyota Land Cruiser, Hino bus from Japan, I saw Peugeot 405 wagon, Nissan Crew Cab, cars from Mexico, classic American cars, a willys Jeep Wagon, cars, buses, and trucks from other Eastern European countries.
Dear me, it looks like the aftermath of a war doesn't it. Good to see there's still some interesting cars around; lots of Volgas in some interesting colours, and a splendid American barge at 1:26. Surely it couldn't be an Edsel?!
Seems like almost all of their buses are now Chinese, with Yutong being the most common brand. It's interesting to think that this is only about 50 miles from the US, where the bus scene is completely different!

You need to consider that Cuba was under decades of economic scrutiny from the US. It is a miracle that they now reached a new level of Socialist Democracy even though they are lagging due to outside pressures

They should only build the body, and with an ecological chassis, such as BYD, TuttoTrasporti, Eletra. (Sorry if you don't know these chassis manufacturers, I'm from Brazil.)
I went there in 2015. I rode a beat up articulated bus. I loved it.
Would you love it if the bus broke down while you were on board?
Lada estate with blacked out windows 6:47! Someone living the high life
The scene of Cuba buses has been changed from second hand buses from Spain , Russia etc to all Yutong China buses like elsewhere in the world.
So many super vintage cars driving by in these clips!

It’s because the US embargo can’t buy newer shit sadly.

Could you tell me the first song used in your Ghost Trams of Russia video from 2009?

Yes TMB Barcelona donated 40 articulated buses'
Lots of Ladas
And Moskvich
New buses are Chinese Utong.
What chassis do these articulated buses use? Mercedes-Benz?
No, Yutong Bus, a Chinese brand.

And.... that is the product of 60+ years of revolution? That city looks like the 1960 o 1970s undeveloped world.

Looks like they need more buses. These crappy chinese buses don't sound very eco-friendly either
Beggars can't be choosers, unfortunately.
