Hi I'm Steve I have a 2004 acura tl 3.2 ltr engine po741 code I did what this man said to do now my car is repaired this man knows what he talking about thanks alot
I have a 2006 Saturn Vue with a Honda 3.5 V6 5 speed auto and 219,000 miles. I got this code. Trans shifts good still but I have had a weird situation on the highway in hot temps (Texas) after about an hour on the road. What happens is I lose MPH (power) and my rpm’s goes up. I also usually smell a hint of antifreeze smell. My car does have the radiator with the trans cooling lines. Should I just get rid of this? How much would a rebuild be etc? Any advice appreciated.
I got a 17 ridge line with a p0776 clutch pressure solenoid stuck off. The oil is clean. This isn’t a electrical code. Service info says two things. Replace valve body with the solenoids made together. Next is stats that if you replace the valve body the code could come back because of internal failure of the Transmision. The valve body is back ordered till whenever!!! Have you ran into this yet. Thanks in advance for you help. Thanks for the tips on this trans to. Michael in Canada!
Yes I have seen a couple issues like that I know definitely on the Honda Odysseys and some Honda pilots after 2012 had lots of valve body issues they had recalls on some of them check with your dealership might be a recall. On the ridge line
I have a theory, I have did a 3x3 transmission fluid change and filter, swapped the TCC solenoid and automatic clutch pressure control solenoid. After almost 1,000 miles in warmer temperatures outside (80+ degrees) the codes seems to pop up, no bad shifting or slipping but in cooler outside temperatures the engine is off for some odd reason (well for me). I’m thinking an secondary issue may be the transmission oil cooler
Whats the part number and name of that second longer solenoid? Im getting p0747 and 746. The dual solenoid clicks fine but i havent checked the si ngle one u ahowed
Hi there, i have this code, on a 2016 crv 35k miles. This ive done, change the flywheel plate, it was cracked making noise. Tech ask me to add oil. I added like 5 quarts as i dont have dipstick. Change speed sensor, oil presure sensor. I dont feel anything wrong. Before it will stall and wont run passed 2k rpm. Now i just have a flashing d, and check wngine light. But nothing i feel wrong just think overfill oil as i see leaking. Any help will appreciate
I have a 2006 Honda odyssey transmission multiple codes like po741 po746,and po777 and shift hard after driving for a while idk so I'm asking you if you can figure it out
Question, p0741 but isn't always on its after driving for some time about 45min to an hr it flares up shifting into what I believe is 3rd, and a hard banging downshift, and a hard reverse engagement with delay engagement after driving for a bit. No slipping in fact brakes the tires loose. I'm trying to help him out any ideas if it's the pressure switch?
That can be caused by both of those solenoids or a bad torque converter also a bad torque converter clutch valve rarely can be caused by a bad transmission control unit but this would likely trigger multiple codes at once
@@alliesman9758 yes most likely the black solenoid next to the brown one you can remove it without pulling out the transmission from inside the engine bay directly under 2 coolant hoses it will be just behind the first solenoid you'll likely need a low profile socket wrench to fit in the tight space with that it can be done without remove anything else just make sure the engine is cool lots of very hot parts around these solenoids
Hello, I am a new subscriber and I really enjoy your videos. The reason I found your channel was looking for a solution for a 2002 Honda Accord 4 cylinder with a PO730 code. Any suggestions please ?
That is going to be a incorrect gear ratio code 90% of the time it's going to be a internal issue clutches welded together or the filter clogging. 98 to 2002 Accord is really bad about burning second gear up.. You can try flushing the fluid but my main suggestion is get it rebuilt
@@bensautorepair9914On my 06 TL I have same code, when the car warms up the transmission slips and if I drive it cold it will shift normally would that mean the solenoids are bad or the torque converter itself?
I would try changing the pressure control solenoid first aka linear solenoids You can also take it off clean it and adjust it tern both screws half a round clockwise.. Do the same with the lockup solenoid
I have a 2003 accord and it shudders when going into lockup - around 40mph. No codes. What can I do to fix this? The transmission shifts great otherwise.
Most common cause is torque converter starting to fail Other issues can be dirty fluid and valve body issues. I recommend doing a fluid flush first 03 and 04 are crazy years
Do you or anyone know where the Torque Converter Solenoid for the 2008 Acura TL 3.2 is? Transmission in 2007 and 2008 are different from 2004,5 and 6. Same code P0741
@@bensautorepair9914 Thank you so much. This is a game-changer. I already changed the solenoid on the top of the transmission, thinking it was the culprit. I was wrong. Now that you mentioned, I looked up transmission for sale on eBay for 2007 and 2008 Acura TL and found that it is on the right-hand side. There are two, a black one and a brown one. I am not sure which one is which.
@@alegz07 yes. TCC solenoid in 2007 and 2008 TL Lives inside the liner solenoid on the drive on the side. You’ll have to remove it and then remove the solenoid valve cover as well. Make sure you buy a replacement solenoid valve cover gasket before removing it. There are 4 solenoids inside. Two on the top and two on the bottom. Bottom left solenoid is the TCC (valve D) if you can find a diagram
@@itspulinaaa thank you so much, I think I found it. its the solenoid that has both the black and gray that you remove and under those you have the 4 other solenoids. Hopefully it all works out and this is whats bad with my tranny, im sitting at 180k and hoping to get a lot more out of it without a whole rebuild! If so then it'll look like i'll have to learn how to rebuild a whole transmission myself lol
I have a 2009 Acura TL and I recently got this code but on my fix finder paper it says “Torque converter clutch solenoid circuit performance or stuck off” I was told I need a torque converter clutch solenoid but that part doesn’t seem to exist at least in that name
I’m wondering if you can help me bro. When I search “2009 Acura TL torque converter clutch solenoid” all that pops up is the “automatic transmission solenoid” is that the one?

Thanks for sharing your knowledge! I really love your videos.
Best video explanation on lockup solenoid.
Good Video. Good fix on my Acura.
Excellent explanation! Thanks

What brand rebuild kit do you recommend
I used to overhaul automatic transmission on a Saturn.
Awesome video, bro. Really appreciate it. 👌
Can you show what to do to diagnose a P0741 code on 2009 kia sportage please
Hey man thanks for this I'm trying to keep my TL going..Can you do a video on how to replace the atf temp sensor on this tranny?
In the engine bay where’s this located?
Is this for the 3.5 liter engine?

What do you do if it’s a P0740 code
How bout po740??
What's the difference between the black connector solenoid and the brown solenoid
It's how it's set up electrical wise can't interchange them u be going in reverse wen you in drive
