  • How to fix P0741 Code: Torque Converter Clutch Solenoid Circuit Performance/Stuck Off
A P0741 code is set when the computer is trying to apply the Torque Converter Clutch (TCC) and it is not working.
The Torque Converter Clutch (TCC) locks the engine to the transmission, which reduces slippage and increases efficiency.
Causes include a bad torque converter, a bad solenoid, a worn TCC valve, and internal transmission failure.
Possible Causes of a P0741 Code:
    Low Transmission Fluid
Bad Solenoid (TCC or Shift Solenoid)
    Bad Torque Converter Clutch
    Bad Transmission

Today I changed the oil on my transverse mounted for cylinder engine and accidentally drained the transmission oil I drove about 11 miles before stopping and filling it back up and fixing everything but I still have this code . Any ideas what could be causing it still

Hi. I have a p0744 code. tcc solenoid intermittent on my 09 Nissan Rogue. Can I simply access the solenoids from the bottom of the transmission after removing the plate? If so I can check that myself. Thanks

I got that code on my ‘19 Toyota Camry at 114,000 miles 😢. My car tends to jerk when I accelerate at times and the rpm goes high when the engine is somewhat cold.

This was quite helpful but I still have 2 error codes on a 2014 Toyota Corolla (P0841 and P2829). Please what could be the cause of these codes. I have also attempted to change the transmission fluid sensor but issue still persists. Kindly advice in this regard. Thank you.

It's difficult to give an exact answer since it needs to be troubleshooted, but I would start by testing the solenoids and make sure they have the correct voltage.

With a P0741 code It's the Torque Converter Clutch Solenoid that has failed. Sometimes, you can find the location with Google images or in forums; otherwise, you will need a manual.

My 2017 Pilot has 140,000 miles, the light has come off and on twice in the last 3 months, but the car is running fine. I took it to a transmission shop and the guy wanted to change the transmission for 7 grand. Any suggestions.

How do you feel when you drive the car does it jerks or hard to shift gears? If not it will be fine and when you have the check engine lightn on take it to autozone or advance auto parts shop for a free check and you will get to know the exact problem
