Hey PetroHead, you mentioned measuring the wet weight of the stock bike. Could you provide that number?
I’ve been waiting for this since you started the project! Can’t wait 😀😀
Good vid! Super informative too, learnt a lot about power curve and delivery, thanks for posting!
Great video fantastic bike and sound stay safe looking forward to next one 🇬🇧👍
The leovinci seems perfect! 🤩 what a beautiful sound it gives the triumph. And a good dyno result. Grtz your🇳🇱fan
If I ever get my Street Triple, the Leo Vinci is the exhaust I wanna get! I sounds so smooth and I love the way it looks.
Great comprehensive review. The LeoVince sounded the best to me, subjective I know. Really smoothed out the torque curve and I was really impressed. I would imagine with a full exhaust replacement and tune, either ECU or PC/Bazzaz the jump in hp an tq would be would be noticeable on the butt dyno.
I have a 18' Striple RS and right know plan to keep it stock, but, thanks to your review the LeoVince would be what I put on for a exhaust upgrade.
Keep up the great work
Stay tuned for individual reviews / sound tests.
Awesome video! Excited to see how they perform with the fueling corrected. This puts to bed all the crazy claims of an increase with a slip on alone.
With the euro 4 and 5 no, in the old days it was a lot better
@@dannygernaat9961 Not without adjusting fueling (jets). This is another case of nostalgia perverting reality. “Back in my day…”
@@freebehindbars8654 not just jets, anything fuel injected before cats and euro 4 & 5. PC's and slip-ons are now next to useless.
@@HORNET6 Not getting what this has to do with my comment. Obviously working with a EFI bike.
Spark looks the best with the pie cuts and loop. I’m not surprised that they didn’t make more power without doing a mapping update
I hope you guys included the Werkes Competition Exhaust as well but aside from that great vids!
With stock map this is a bit of a waste. The reason why Leo Vince shows better numbers is because it's the "closest" to the oem exhaust.
Spark an SC are more "straight-pipe", put an air filter and a custom map and you are near 130whp. I did. (obviously each dyno is a world...)
Anyway, I like the content and appreciate the effort and all the info!
✌️✌️✌️
Is yours a 2020? I didn't know custom maps were available on 2020 models. And I also have a race filter ready to go on.
The 2020 is mappable. Tune ECU, PC5, and someone who knows how to adjust the AF tables on dyno. The bike runs extremely lean with a stock can to meet Euro 5 standards, especially in the lower rev range. With an aftermarket can where there is less restricted flow after eliminating the second CAT in the stock can, the air fuel mixture can become dangerously lean in lower rev ranges. Tune ECU recently allowed access to the AF table in rpm’s above 5000 but not below. You must incorporate the PC5 to adjust below. Going this route, with a decent tuner, a full system, air filter, Oxy Sen and SAS eliminated, 130hp at the wheel is very possible.
@@davidreed254 message me on IG, I have some questions to ask. I may go the tune route.
@@PetroHead yep, 2020. I meant a custom tune via a piggyback unit (Power Commander in my case)
It's possible to modify the map via TUNEECU but is a real pain in the ass. Every change takes forever and the lowest RPM range is locked so you can have some fueling problems shutting itself off when decelerating to a stop for example. I only use TuneECU to disable O2 sensors, SAI, etc.
Is not the cheapest way, but if you wanna go the all-in route (specially with a full exhaust), a Power Commander / Rapid Bike and a real custom tune makes the difference.
Great video. The Spark would be my choice just for e looks! But too much money for me in the UK 😢
Are you planning on doing longer reviews with all three when on the bike?
Yes, each exhausts gets a full review and a pure sound / flyby video (6 more to come). Stay tuned!
LV sounds the best and more practical.
If you want aloud bike all the time then SC :)
Leo Vince - does the little elbow link pipe come with the silencer, or are they purchased seperately?
In the 2018 version (euro4) there was power gain when replacing the exhaust tip. In 2020 (euro5) there seems to be no power gains.
Can you please make a dyno test to an Akraprovic exhaust on the Trile RS pls.
this is an older video, but i wanted to mention that other than the obvious of the exhaust only being slip ons and not full exhausts, that some bikes need the db killer in aftermarket exhaust to create efficient back pressure to actually see any gain, im not sure if the street triple is this way but it is something to consider.
Great vid. Quite informative💯👍🏽🏍 Did you provide the shop name? I cannot locate a shop in Temecula that provides dynotune service.
They don’t dyno tune.
Do the dyno test on racefit exhaust..
Why not replace with full exhaust system? The slip ons make a miniscule difference as we saw in the tests. Also you probably have to combine it with air filter and velocity stack upgrade .
I'm in the market for a street triple 765 exhaust. The leo keeps coming to the top of my list. I really like the oem sound, wouldn't mind a bit more noise so I'm hoping the Leo with DB killer in would fit that gap
Leo is the right amount of sound. Link in description. Enjoy!
@@PetroHead I appreciate it. I think im going to pull the trigger based on this. Sub coming your way!
Excellent video! I LOVE my Yoshimura pipe on my 2018 striple R. I appreciate the numbers and everything but like almost all modern sport bikes without ECU tuning and other things like higher flow air filter you're honestly not going to see much power at all like you found out. The main reason for a pipe for most people is for the much better looks and MUCH better sound. My Yosh without the baffle sounds BEAUTIFUL!!
Also where did you get that awesome keychain? I love that thing.
I agree.. just get it for sound.. the rest is for the birds. Keychain.. Triumph came with a backpack, binder, manuals, pillion seat and the keychain.
@@PetroHead damn you got a nice little package! Must be an RS thing. Mine got a zippered up binder kinda thing, the manuals and one of the rubber Triumph keychains.
I was actually surprised it came with all that.. but it might be an RS thing.. not sure 🤔
I just bought the 2022 Triumph triple RS and They only gave me a folder and the passenger sit . And that’s only because I ask
great video...content!!!! you are smashing it ! question: doesn't adding exhaust require the 12 min adaptation process where bike is started and allowed to run for 12 minutes without touching the throttle . That was the required process on the 18-19 Rs's( have an 18 RS). could that be why horsepower hasn't increased as expected though my RS has an OEM Arrow and gains with it are negligible.
Not sure but as you saw, he does about 5 pulls to get the bike to learn and each time, it gives the best figures on the last pull.
I understand that the 12 minute tune does not work on the 2020 Euro 5 bike, but I don’t know for sure.
@@sjaisie yes it does Steve. We proved it with my m8's bike on the Dyno. 15 minutes run time from cold *AFTER* the fan cut in. Fueling was 👍 after the ECU was recalibrated ...
@@chicblair but not for the 2020 models i think
@@PetroHead the adaptation is idle for 5 to 10 minutes. Also should of put an aftermarket map in.
Running these on the dyno without adding fuel doesn't make sense to me.
I wonder if the straight shape of the SC Project came at a cost with the power and torque delivery. Exhaust gases are lazy, so I'd imagine a straighter design would benefit. And the difference in diameter isn't significant. SC Project does have the s-curve style exhaust. That might help the top end with a longer pipe.
Should change the whole system to have significant changes in the curves
They say you need to run the bike for around 15mins to let the ECU adjust to the exhaust
was this done with the "12 minute tune" on each exhaust? the ecu supposedly can account for the change exhaust by running it without touching the throttle for 12 minutes after the radiator fan comes on
Good question, it at least compensates a bit
What else did you expect as the 2021 is an Euro 5 and has two catalysts
Only one cat after the exhaust swap.
Did you reset the ecu before you stuck the exhaust on? If not you need to run the bike for at least 20 minutes for the ecu to adapt and pick up the change.
If neither above then all you are doing is getting the same amount of air and fuel going through the bike the bike is not aware of the change
What do you mean by reset?
@@PetroHead cold start the bike and leave it idling for about 12 minutes without touching the throttle until the fans kick on and the ecu will adjust the fueling and other parameters to the new exhaust
Triumphs also have different maps from dealership. I'd say these Dyno #s aren't correct.
How do they compensate for the auto-mapping of the triumph ecu? 15 min ish of running to refuel to new system?
You got more videos to watch on this channel 👍 (check Striple playlist)
Noice
Good to see the comparisons but slip-ons alone make so little perceptible difference they're not worth the cost. You'll never notice a 1hp gain at peak and I reckon you'd have to be very perceptive to feel any change in torque delivery. Added to that they are stupid loud without the dB killers in. You have to get rid of the cat to release all the ponies as that is where they they are all corked up. Do a full system swap for a meaningful dyno run.
Very interesting... would be great if you showed the afr mixtures? I’m guessing it would be running lean. I know mine is.
Can I do that within the Winpep 7 dyno reader? If you show me how, I will put it on my next video(s)
Yup and that screws up the torque values, the already bad areas in the original map are just magnified without proper calibration.
Torque graphs would have probably been better with the baffles in.
So in the end you don't know anything after such a test. Might be fun to do but as a rating for these exhausts these figures mean nothing.
Según Triumph, debe montar el escape con la moto fría, encender sin tocar nada hasta que salten los ventiladores y esperar 12min, hay ella abra echo un reajuste de inyección
Probably wouldn’t compare dyno numbers without actually tuning them each properly
8:49 Lol at guy in the back plugging his ears
So after getting this bike would it be smart to just go ahead and install the Leo Vince or would it be better tobwait?
Time doesn’t regenerate.. buy something and enjoy it.
@@PetroHead thanks for the tip! And once again thanks for another enlighte ing video. Looking forward to more.
Plzz give me the link of leo vince exhaust i want to install on my street triple RS..
Link is in the description.
Are you just using the standard mapping?
Yes
does anyone know what is the tool called that they use to remove the silencer for the sc project ?
Slide hammer
Typically you don't get power from installing a slip on especially when the ECU didn't have time to adjust with that being said you get power when you tune the ECU because the manufacturers have to get their bikes to pass Euro 4 or now Euro 5. A real tuner can see where the percentage opening of the throttle plates no matter how much you have the throttle open.
Next, you gotta clear that tail my man!
It was cleared a year ago.. Keep watching
@@PetroHead Good stuff, and my bad!
So there's really sweet stuff all difference when you're just changing the pipes.
Do a new fuel map for each of the pipes, then you'll see the real difference.
Who’s financing it.. you?
@@PetroHead It's just basic, change the flow - change the fuel.
Why? Happy with power.. if I want more power, I’ll buy a bigger bike.
It's not so much about getting peak HP, it's about smothing out those HP and TQ to be as linear and predictable when on the street or the track. Seeing those rough curves indicate there may be an issue with the A/F and could possibly create a very high EGT, high cylinder pressure or detonation. Which can impact depandbility and longevity.
This dyno was for curious eyes only (entertainment) and has nothing to do with performance or how the bike rides. Having done over 3500 miles and tons of track time, power is linear and strong.. the computer does a good job of ironing out what may look chaotic in the graphs.. hope it was entertaining to watch but don’t give the dyno results more credit than it deserves.
did you guys remap ecu?
Check the playlist
i use yoshimura in my rs2018
Hey Petrohead, at 5:52, are you removing the baffle from the Spark exhaust?
Yes
@@PetroHead thanks for confirming. The Spark is a winner for me and just about to order mine
Question I have a 2022 rs
On the link provided for the Leo exhaust says only up to 2019 rs.
Would this system fit my 2022?
Yes it will fit. It will even fit 2019’s they are all the same engine.
Nice. Thanks for the quick reply
By the way your videos of the rs made me pull the trigger on one last week got an amazing deal cuz of the 23s coming In. Love the bike don’t regret it. Thanks again👍🏻
@@shootermcgavin8276 Damn you should have bought mine. LOL... all good.. have fun with it!
Lol didn’t know it was up for sale damn it. Let me know wen your selling that v4😁 jk my wife will kill me. Stay safe out there
I'm thinking run(s) should have been done with baffle in, then out.
I can do that but you wanna sponsor the next one? Its not cheap lol
@@PetroHead How much they charge ?
You should have tested it on Sport/track mode as there's the mod that will provide peak power.
It was in track mode.
@@PetroHead cool, did you know you have to turn track mode everytime the bike is turn off and on? Cause at @8:37 it's on road mode
@@erictanyiming he started the bike and I did all the menus etc.. the magic of editing doesn’t show that stuff 👍
@@PetroHead nice. keep it going! I just installed my akraprovic exhaust on my street triple rs. 114hp stock, 121hp after tuning with PCV and DNA air filter. 😬
What year is your Striple?
Right after changing exhaust '' ride it for some miles ... ECU needs time to change its map
Which is why he does 5 pulls but anyway, this is something debatable.
@@PetroHead hmm maybe one session of Dyno, clear the doubt . Anyway happy riding
Sc project 100% but you brought the wrong link pipe the S bend is awesome and looks better than the Spark S bend imo
This is the one that was recommended for the 2020 model. Check their site.
@@PetroHead check out the S Bend link pipe on there website is more expensive mind but the weld look insane
@@simonsmale1645 Its the same thing as the Spark.
@@PetroHead looks better tho but yeah similar link pipe
@@simonsmale1645 I am leaning more towards keeping the Spark.. but I still have the LV on the bike.. will change it out next week when I'm done with the LV review. Not 100% sure till I do "real life" tests of each though. 🤷
All the dyno results seems pretty discontinuous, maybe the exhaust are too open?
Not sure I understand.
@@PetroHead sorry, i mean the graphics that you show us are very irregular, the original exhaust must be better
For better representation, check out each individual exhaust review I put out.
What were the decibel figures for each exhaust?
Its in the video... if not, thats all I have.
SCORPION the best for street triple
"Lets rev it up" dude never goes past 6k rpm
man would not like to ride along that road in wet.
Not surprising at all considering it's untuned. Leaning the bike wayyy out
This review seems pointless. You need to let the bike learn before dyno... Figured you would know this between exhausts.
Another expert.
Why would you bother? You’d achieve more spending the money on tyres. And none of these would pass track noise limits anyway where I race.
