The lets go games are perfect for this kind of art style c: i know it will never happen but at least something similar to it. Gen 2 is next in the lets go games and i wanna see if they can make cyndaquil even cuter xD

I love the fact he played the original first for a refresher and was able to thoroughly compare the pair. Very informative and well-said review. This is how they should all be :)

The game was a blast. Although I never played the original, I’ve got to say it was a joy to experience it in this way. So much fun, and very challenging.

What an amazing review. Bravo IGN, didn't expect this.
I was going to pass on this game, I really was. I absolutely loved the original (it is my favorite in the Zelda franchise), and I didn’t want to tarnish my memories of it by playing a remake that wasn’t up to par, but this review really opened my eyes and made me see it in a different way. What an amazing review and an amazing game!
I would love to see the Minish Cap remastered like this.

They did make a top-down 2D demo during development to test out mechanics

3:55 Agreed. It's why I've never been keen on some of the earlier Zelda games, since the dungeons just having you walking around, exploring rooms and fighting enemies. I do however, differ about A Link Between Worlds. I like that finding your way through Koholint is in itself a puzzle, rather than the game just opening all the gates and telling me to go crazy. At least here the dungeons can afford to get more challenging as a result of that linearity.

campkira not necessarily a bad thing for most people, many still play old games over again and wish to do so with modern graphics/features. I played OoT and even Golden Sun all the way thru many times.

This guy has literally brought reviewing a game to a new level, enjoyed every minute of it IGN I am shocked.
IGN have this guy review games for now on and I guarantee you will have a fan base again as long as he does a great job like he did with this game so make sure he is happy.

I normally actively avoid IGN reviews, though this seemed to be one of the first posted, so I gave it a shot, excellent job. Reminds me of the old days of video game reviews. Almost Adam sessler esque.
great review though surprised to hear about the performance issues given I really havent experienced many even with BotW(excluding the forest) and Odyssey

I just finish the remake, I loved the dx version. I decided to not buy this one, but then it was on sale and I was bored. I did not regret it. I absolutely love the sound Link makes when he runs.

I really want to like the game, but wtf is up with no d-pad controls? I thought it would be fine using the analog stick, but after sinking a few hours into it, I hate it. The analog controls single-handedly ruined it for me :( I guess I'll go back to my Game Boy game.

Never played Links Awakening, I absolutely loved it. I was so surprised about how much depth went into a 1993 game! In some ways it’s better than a Link Between Worlds which is decades newer! So many areas to discover, complex but fun dungeons, great music, and charm all around!
