The Law Rocks Multiplayer doesn’t really work with these types of games. Imagine if Fallout, Skyrim, or the Witcher 3 also has Multiplayer. Those wouldn’t work either

The game is as hard as you want it to be, you can cheese a ton of moons by going alternate routes that require precise inputs and combinations of movements, I have found some moons on places i tought the developers didn't intent anyone to go there, yet, a moon, purple coins or stacks of golden coins where laying there. I wouldnt say the game is easy, I have died a lot, It just feels easy because there's no punishment for dying.

sillyninja65 Charlyl is right. The game isn't just the broodal boss battles. They are not poorly designed. There is still plenty of challenge in the post game content. Getting through the main story is easy, but that is just the tip of the iceberg.

Biskut How do you know it has frame rate issues? CZcams videos aren't exactly the best source for how a game looks & performs if that's your source. Demo builds aren't really the best representation either. Just saying, I'm genuinely curious is all.

I just beat the story mode & the epilogue left me crying tears of nostalgia. The game is a masterpiece & I'm a strong ps4 fan.
I started the game thinking it would be a very good game, but it was so good that it exceeded what I could imagine. When the credits started, I sat there with my jaw dropped thinking about the *odyssey* I just went through
Grey I cried during the credits because the game was so beautiful. That's the last time I've cried during a video game ending since Mario Galaxy 2. I was so happy and sad and amazed and the music with the pictures all just coming together I lost it. I love this game

Agree. BotW is a bonafide 10. It's a game I will still be playing and comparing other games to 15 years from now. I'm 8 hours into Odyssey, and it's a blast to play. But if BotW is our beacon for what a real 10 is, then Odyssey falls short. That's not an insult though - this game is amazing.
You can thank the fact that real games like TLoU 2, God of War, Metal Gear, and Kingdom Hearts were pushed back to 2018

Johnathan Alvarez im an oldhead, and I love the n64, but it is not even close to comparable with the Switch. In terms of success, critical acclaim, and quality. This year, we got the Switch, Breath of the Wild, Samus Returns, Mario Odyssey, and we're gonna get fire emblem warriors, doom, Skyrim, more Zelda dlc, and new Pokemon games.
Oh yeah, not to mention the Super Nintendo classic.

As shitty as Nintendo can be at times, I love how they can come up with a title such as SMO and BoTW that really breathes back some fun and joy to gaming.
As someone who remembers vividly unwrapping a shiny new Snes for the first time, falling in love with Mario World, F Zero, Pilotwings and other early titles, we need more games like this.
Too many loot boxes, microtransactions, dirty devs and publishers, asset flips, bug ridden messes, and just generally bad dealings in todays gaming industry.
Too many inconsistant deals also. In a steam game called Town of Salem. It sometimes gives you deals which are amazing, and only cost 1.99. I mean, sure, good price but it's stupid because the next deal is like, two characters for 20.00

Not restarting stages after getting stars(moons), added hat mechanics making platforming more free from, and the games level design being nothing like galaxy or sunshine or mario 64. Im 7 stages in and this game is very different.

JJ Jet Nah I loved wooded kingdom. Those tanks are so fun, they really should make a game around that because they feel so nice to pilot. The weird onion things though are pretty strange.
Also Wooded is where we see the Dash Flowers appear first.
As for lake, I kinda spent most of that kingdom trying to see if I can skip bits using long jump hat throw pound dive bounce grab. The zipper thing was pretty cool and the swimming is so much easier now with dash and cheep cheeps so I'll give it a pass

Can't believe adult people still enjoy and value so high this mario franchise. We WERE hooked in this game in childhood! But the reality is that not only Odyssey, but this franchise is being still loved even by the adult gamers who have grown up from that precious time...How can Nintendo or its developers get inspirations and ideas to keep entertaining us today?? Who's behind this series that has magical power to do that?

Mario games are just fun now nonsensical games that everybody can play. You cant call yourself a gamer when you dont play mario games at some point in your life.
Have had this game for a few months but just got around to really start playing it.. I freaking love it. They nailed the pacing and it never feels like I'm wasting time exploring the world because there is literally so much to find. It really is a masterpiece of gaming.

Just beat this game today, holy hell was it great! Absolutely deserves the 10/10, even if it was pretty short and not too difficult. My favorite worlds were probably the grass world and the lava food world.
The game is huge actually. If you just got to the first set of credits then you really didnt beat it

Not Zelda, not this, Ac origins and shadow of war loot boxes don't affect the games in any other way than existing, the evil within 2 is good, and while all of them have/will have some dlc, none of them are "incomplete" all that's left seems to be battlefront 2. Of course with ea behind it its most likely going to flop, but that's just one game.
This game is a important game in the Mario series truly a masterpiece.
I just finished the game. It's the first Mario game i played through and through. As i was playing I was giggling and smiling all the way. Only a few games have done this to me and Odyssey is the best out of all of them. Nintendo, my goodness...

TheWild N64 and GameCube were actually the most powerful consoles of their generations.
They could, Nintendo is just more concerned about making games than consoles to compete with the others.

How do Nintendo do it.....it’s miraculous that a franchise produces this many quality games one after another.
5:09 should have mentioned the camera during co-op with joycons. You have to hold X (or the top button) to move the camera, and then you can’t move the character that you’re playing as at the same time.

Has everyone just forgotten about Mario Galaxy 2?
The most satisfying part of this game is when you master it. The crazy skips you can do to get certain moons early with your own skill and no glitches is insane.

Games incredibly satisfying to play, he hit the nail on the head when he said it's not difficult but it's a lot of exploration.
Nintendo is taking games to the next level using their imagination not HD quality or 4k graphics..
Now I understand why take to much time to develop a MASTER PIECE .

There's still horizon, persona 5, Nier, Yakuza 0, PUBG, Wolfenstein 2, shadow of war, plus the end of the year titles. Tbh I don't care who gets it this year because this has been a great year for gaming.

finally got around to playing this, and just finished the main story, and wow am i glad i did. it's so distinctively 'Nintendo' and so full of charm and character. Odyssey is jam packed with secrets and content and will have you engrossed in it's worlds. This isn't just a game, this is a triumph. This truly deserves perfect 10. A true masterpiece.
Now all we're missing is Super Mario Sunshine 2. Hands down my favorite Mario game of all time. Please make that game next!

Monopoly Man, get ya a Switch, Zelda & Mario Odyssey. You’ll be in video game heaven for months, just on those 2 games alone, not even counting Xenoblade, Doom, Skyrim, Arms and Mario + Rabbids (ya, serious , that game rocks!), etc, etc.
You got the game with the most perfect scores in Metacritic history in Zelda BoTW (Greatest game ever made IMO.) You got Mario Odyssey which has countless perfect scores. I'm not sure about this but I think it's going to be the game with second most perfect scores in Metacritics history after Zelda. You got 3rd party games like FIFA 18, Skyrim etc that you can also play portably.
Honestly the Switch is probably the second best console right now after the PS4. It lacks 3rd party support when compared to PS4 and Xbox One.
RealSupaHotFireVEVO, it sounds crazy to say any game is the best game ever made, because it's so subjective and there are SO many games out there.. But, man I gotta agree with you. Breath of the Wild is the BEST game I've ever played, on any console. I played it for 3 months straight, barely playing anything else, and I still play it now and then, just exploring the map, as I wait for the next DLC to come out. Really, I'd like to start a new game and play it all over again.

Something can go wrong from being too far in _either_ direction. There's a "just right" area somewhere in the middle.

I play mainly on PS4 (Pro). My top 3 games this year were Persona 5, NieR Automata and Horizon. But can you even participate in a GOTY discussion if you haven't played BotW, Odyssey and Xenoblade 2 this year?
I'll buy a switch before the end of the year.
My favorite part is the concert in metro Kingdom when you play the fun 2d donkey kong session while the lady sings and the music is pumping. I literally smiled.
