Both versions, this one & the original by Mr. Billy Paul are both great. This one has a more Doo-Wop-y type of feel to it, while Billy's was more classy with the orchestra & strings in it. Rest In Peace Billy Paul & Ron Banks.

I had the pleasure to host the dramatic in 1977 when they came to Peaches & Records in St. Louis. They stayed at the famous Chase Park Plaza Hotel. The hotel gave them some rooms with old furniture. They were so happy to be in the chase. What they did not know was, they were getting played. When got up to thief rooms, I was totally shocked, because I know what the rooms should have look like. So I told them noo, this is not right. We called down to the front desk & I told who I represened, ask why were a famous group like the Dramatics being treated like this. ( we all really knew why), fast forward. The chase moved all of them to the real rooms. They were elegant like should have been in the first place. They were thrilled. They told me that if I ever came too Detriut, everything would be on them. 😂. I never got there, but I so glad I was there to help. True Story. 💘
Man these guys were one of the greatest vocal groups in rhythm and blues. I loved them as much as I loved the temptations. Every group I loved had vocals. Even if they played with an instrument. And we've had many groups.
