I won a dance contest in college to a Temptations song.
As a man living in Detroit, who has been to the Motown Museum a number of times, IT IS STILL HARD FOR ME, to watch this movie, knowing it was filmed in PITTSBURGH! Motown was still there, West Grand Blvd was still there, plus all the houses they owned. Even Coles Funeral Home next door, and the KFC, are STILL THERE, but they chose to duck Detroit. And I am a TEMPTATIONS AND MOTOWN FREAK, saying this! Now I know what they meant, when they sang, BEAUTY'S ONLY SKIN DEEP!
Thank you for writing this that I never new this. I always thought the movie was filmed in Detroit. I will be visiting the Motown Museum in a couple weeks.

Leon did do a good performance on this. Leon got his own album out. It's pretty good. Got a strong voice I wish he would have became. How could I say a full-time singer bring back the old style? Oh he would have killed it. You give him Keith sweat? Johnny Gill and you got to have r Kelly you got to and that is a group that ain't nobody going to be able to mess with for a while

That was David Ruffin; so full of himself. He just couldn’t see how good he really had being a part of something so special. And it was never about just one member being so high above the rest. After Ruffin was fired from the Temptations this guy had only 2-3 top 40 solo hits. But when the Temps brought on Dennis Edwards they continued making top 10 music. Like Ruffin proved, some people just couldn’t handle fame and fortune. When Eddie Kendricks left the Temptations he had far more success than David. The Temptations legacy will be enjoyed for generations to come. From an era when the music was so real and so great. 🎼🎼🎼🎼👍🏾
I agree, only if he would have given his all to his purpose and voice, no telling far he could have gone. It's even reported that Marvin Gaye said David Ruffin had something in his voice that his lacks. Thanks for watching and subscribing!
