- In 2016, three climbers reached the summit of Nanga Parbat in the winter, but for Daniele Nardi that moment was bittersweet. Daniele was supposed to be standing on the summit, but instead, he had left the peak early because of a disagreement with another climber.
In 2019 Daniele would recruit Tom Ballard to join him on an expedition to the Killer Mountain, and there expedition would test their strength, skills, and resolve....but it is hard to defeat a peak nicknamed the Killer Mountain...This is their story.

Much respect to the guy who went home.
Both of these climbers had their obsessions. Daniele was obsessed with a winter summit of Nanga Parbat and Tom was obsessed with escaping his Mother's shadow. In the end, both of these obsessions led to their deaths
All desire leads to death....
That;s why we are all here... in this great 'experiment' !
@@adambane1719obsessions lead to catastrophies, not desires
Absolutely no disrespect to Tom’s mother. But I do not think that Tom was escaping her shadow! I review Tom’s accomplishments and quickly forget about his mother’s place in mountaineering. It’s the inverse of what you believe and wrote. Tom was that good. You don’t even understand….
@@adambane1719I desire to go back to sleep in a couple minutes, I’m sure I’ll be fine
@@JustTryingToCZcamsmany people die in their sleep believe it or not
Maybe these obsessive mountaineers know something we don't...there is nothing compared than freezing to death on a mountain.
"Without supplementary oxygen" is one of the dumbest "achievements" I have ever heard of.
I know I always think the same thing. These ppl are so delusional. They do all of this but no one really cares but them. It’s so irresponsible.
I totally agree! Who cares; it’s just dumb.
And do you have hobbies or activities that no one cares about. Maybe not as risky but each to their own.@@Queenofdacastle

Absolutely no disrespect to Tom’s mother. But I do not think that Tom was trying to escape from her shadow! I review Tom’s accomplishments and quickly forget about his mother’s place in mountaineering. He was advancing beyond to next level.
Tom was that good.
I think I’d like to jet pack up to the top of Mt. Everest
I love the way you tell all these stories!
This channel is just the best. Thank you for all the stories
Great job on this! Keep em coming thank you dude!!
You tell such fascinating stories with a lot of human heart
Both of those guys are missed going forward without them.
danielle had been trying to conquer the mummery spur(winter) for years, with little succes... brutal route
why am i only interested in mountain climbing disasters
W Channel
I went up and down with barely no gear in fact im not even the only one icemen went to and we still alive, is all mental.
Are there any records or routes left on the 14ks?
There are at least two routes on Everest that still stand out today as unclimbed -
the direct route up the East Face and the Fantasy Ridge aka the East Ridge.
Both are extremely dangerous
(obviously)
and avalanche-prone.
Only Tadeusz Piotrowski and Jerzy Kukuczka have ever completed the ascent of the South Face of K2 (also called the "Polish Line") -
a very difficult and dangerous route which was threatened by seracs and had been called "suicidal" by Reinhold Messner.
The route is so avalanche-prone, that no one else has ever considered a new attempt.
It was during the descent by a classic route (the Abruzzi Spur) that Tadeusz lost both his crampons and fell to his death at around 7900 meters,
following two exhausting stopovers at the wall with no food or water…
Tadeusz is considered by many to be perhaps the finest winter mountaineer of his day.
Jerzy is still the only person to have climbed two eight-thousanders in one winter.
Altogether,
he ascended four eight-thousanders in winter,
including three as first ascents.
This route on K2 that Piotrowski and Kukuczka climbed remains unrepeated-
this means that it has never been climbed in the winter.
So…
what are you waiting for?
I've met all types of Id's on our bed of rock but some clowns have Ids bigger than Mount Everest and when they clash watch out!!
😮
👍🐿😎
These stories are to short
Tamara Lunger is German!
1.5x speed
Why do the videos often show junk on the screen such as hairs and bits of dust ?
We are born to die but pls don't do stupid way. Life is precious 😢😢
It wasn’t really the argument that caused the problem; it was the reaction to the argument.
Tom ended up just like his mother. She failed twice. The twisted mess of her legacy remains.
I'm not impressed, glad I had a good Mom.
killer mnt is an over used term for too many summits.
So stupid to climb alone and without oxygen. Years later no one cares if you’re climbing alone or without oxygen.
maybe they witnessed a drug deal high up on the mountain and it went bad
