What is your favorite moment of this film??
When Laura kicks ass!
The psychic whammy room kills. That was so cool.
Laura's first fight scene
Charles sitting in the bedroom watching the movie 'Shane' with Laura. That's the point where this movie showed it was a bit deeper than the average X-men movie.
The fact that one of Charles' seizures killed a bunch of the X-Men. It's mentioned only so briefly, but that's a pretty dark story route all told.
Laura is also technically a clone of Logan. In comics, she’s known as X-23 because she’s the 23rd attempt at cloning Logan.
It's different in the film. She was birthed by a woman, albeit through insemination, as opposed to being created solely from dna.
Yeah, laura is more specifically logans biological daughter the comics have addressed this because she was birthed by a woman her mom( Sarah kinney) who also was deeply involved in the whole process
Glad that I now know that fact.... that girl in the movie .... and the girl in the comics are badasses
I think they missed the end-credit scene of x-men apocalypse.
In 1983, The ESSEX corporation took Logan's dna samples from the alkaline lake base.
Quite a few people remembered it going into this one.
But some didn't.
The backstory in the comics is that she is full clone of Logan, however his Y chromosome was damaged and unusable. They then used two copies of Logan's intact X chromosome to make the gender chromosome, which is why his clone is female.
"Don't be what they made you." Hell of a line.
Fun Fact: In Laura/X-23`s original appearance on "X-Men Evolution"(She was later incorporated into the Comics by the exact same people albeit with a somewhat modified backstory and whilst in her "Evolution" and "Logan" versions she has brown hair and tanned skin, in The Comics she has black hair and pale skin as well as being more formal and emotionless outside of her feral rages)he said something similar:"Your feelings.Don`t fight `em anymore.Let `em win."
"Reality often disappointing". - Thanos
I really want to see Dafne Keen as X-23 again in the MCU I think she has the perfect age to start something incredible.
I agree!!!
Yeah with multiverse I've been hoping this is the case. X-23 does become Wolverine in the comics, so we can just have her be the MCU's Wolverine, and can maybe just have a small cameo from Hugh Jackman via multiverse if that comes to be.
I know Ryan Reynolds is pushing hard for a Wolverine and Deadpool movie though so that might happen 🤣🤣
Fuck the MCU , just Marvel movies...not MCU
I've been saying! This is the perfect time, and i really hope they bring her in.
I feel like they would ruin her making her too family friendly.
As Logan was dying realised his daughter was his heart and he was holding her hand when he died plus it was the adamantium that was slowly poisoning him and weakening his powers.
The adamantium wasn't what was poisoning him - for it to do that, it'd have to break down and leech into his system, which it's too strong to do; it was all the chemicals they talked about that prevent mutation that were removing his healing.
@@Sir_Jimmothy Wrong, it was Adamantium!
@@philipocallaghan It makes no sense!
@@Sir_Jimmothy Tell that to the original writers of the comic, I didn't write it.
The adamantium was not weakening his powers, it was Charles mental breakdowns, wich also killed the majority of the X-men.
Logan survived due to his healing factor but it was getting constantly messed up and weakened by the mental attacks, and because of that his body couldn't outspeed the adamantium poisoning anymore.
That actress did an incredible job! Her brutality and anger showed so well on her face, but also her love and pain. I almost didn’t even notice she hadn’t spoken the first half of the movie the first time I watched it. Her facial expressions are so loud.
In the comics, in the “old man Logan” series all of the mutants were killed BY wolverine. Mysterio has him hallucinating and he thought he was killing all of the bad guys essentially. And then he realized that he murdered all of his friends. Pretty depressing really 😭 In The comic it’s Hawkeye who stays with him , not professor X.
Also the reason Logan is dying is because of the adamantium in his body. Metal poisoning pretty much. So before he was able to heal the poisoning AND whatever damage he took, but now his healing BARELY covers his poisoning but the older he gets the slower his regeneration is. So he can heal but very very slowly and if he takes too much damage then it’s too much and he can’t heal at all.
@@DanielFernandez-gv6iy who the hell is hawkeye

Fun BTS bit from this movie: apparently most of the scene with Dafne Keen blowing up on Hugh in the truck was improv, including her punching him. After filming the scene, Hugh apologized to her mother for cursing at her, and Dafne's mom just laughed and replied "It's okay, she just called you a c*nt in Spanish, I think you're even"
I’m not sure if you remember the wolverine where they’re in Japan and Yukio has the prediction where she says that she sees Logan dying holding his heart well the connection people have made is that Laura is his heart and this is the prediction
One of them mentioned that specific connection between the two movies/scenes in this video so they probably remembered it 🤷🏾
One of the most memorable comic book films ever. Even the fact that it may or may not even be canon doesn’t matter cuz it has such a strong vision and individual tone compared to the other films. The best sendoff Logan could’ve had.
I do wish we got more films like this, ones that don’t feel the need to be huge blockbuster action films, and instead choose to tell an engaging story, with great characters, perhaps in a style influenced by other genres.
@Hesh Hesherson hey hey hey X2 is awesome & Days of Future Past was about as X-Men as we could've hoped for at the time
@@MasterBetty69 X2`s overrated. Read "God Loves,Man Kills", the sequel or the Legacy Virus storyarc which served as source material for the film and you`ll understand.
@@ChildofNature-hx8ev people are too harsh on the early X-Men films.
@@MasterBetty69 No, they`re too harsh on "Origins"(Which, aside from the ending, was just okay, that disgruntled Fox employee leaking the workprint really did violence to the film`s public reception IMHO,same with Rob Zombie`s "Halloween" but that was bound to get hate just by virtue of bein` a remake of a film seen as a classic slasher),"Last Stand" and "Apocalypse."
seeing how its al MCU now its a canon but just a other timeline/dimension
Adamantium is poisonous like Lead, it's the reason in the comics no one but Wolverine survived the procedure and why they tried Cloning Wolverine to make more Weapon X weapons, including Deadpool getting that healing Factor as well, it's needed to Survive the Adamantium graphing, With his stunted Healing Factor the Adamantium poisoning is starting to get to him. In the comics they've even confirmed that without the Adamantium his Healing factory would actually be way stronger, but it's constantly healing him just to keep him alive from the Adamantium in his body. He would have Deadpool levels of Healing without the Adamantium. I remember one instance when Magneto rips the Adamantium out of his body and his Healing Factor goes up by A lot.
His healing favor goes up more!?? That’s WILD!!
Yes, but his mutation would also turn him into a feral animal if unchecked by the Adamantium.
Yup he’ll also be in his feral state too
I don’t think that’s the reason here. It was in him for like 60 and it suddenly started working just a while ago?
@@ildimid9423 I think in this world all the mutants were poisoned and are slowly being exterminated genetically through food… I think
It’s worth noting that this film makes several connections to the original film timeline, so it’s a future where they never needed to go back in time to stop the Sentinels because they never rose to power, likely due to the decline of Mutants births so they weren’t needed.
Oh shoot ok! So it is alternate?
@@whitenoisereacts Yes! Supposedly
@@whitenoisereacts So the Charles and Logan at the end of Days of Future Past in the new timeline are still currently alive.
@@whitenoisereacts hugh was 47 when he filmed this movie.
@@whitenoisereacts its strange though because JAMES MANGOLD himself literally said that this movie is post days of future past and that it is very much connected
First time you get to see Wolverine as violent as he was meant to be. Nice reaction! Patrick Stewart was also amazing in this.
I don’t know if you caught it but the speech Laura gives in the end is the same one from the film Shane. It’s the one prof x and her were watching in the hotel. The story Charles recounts about seeing that film in his local cinema is true, Patrick Stewart thought it was a good touch. Really enjoy all you guys do. You both give great insights and takes and I’m grateful for all you do.
Yeah we did!!!
Logan was suffering from a couple of things , the two being the transgenic chemical in food and water , the adamantium poisoning over the years.
I wish this is what superhero movies would be, great movies with it's own taste and not the rehashed old forumla.
also the use of CGI in this movie was IMO perfect, to support the story and that not 90% of the frame consists of CGI.
Eh. The CGI point depends on the movie. Dr strange necesitates a shit ton of CGI because he does a ton of magig bullshit all over. Not using CG would leave the Sorcerer Supreme being extrmeley underwhelming.
Superman can bench press planets. Can't really show things of that scale without a lot of CG.
Now we get the rehashed NEW formula!
Daphne did such a remarkable job 👏👏👏
This is not only the final chapter in the Wolverine Trilogy but also the final X-Men movie that is canon.
As a single dad of amazing daughters this movie has always hit me hard. The “daddy” from Laura at the end makes my eyes sweat like crazy. 😢💔 100% easily my favorite X-men movie! Thanks for your efforts guys!
‘Makes my eyes sweat’ 😂 most manly way of saying cry I’ve ever heard, gonna have to steal that one ❤
Not even the Academy was able to recognize Hugh Jackman's performance
Deadpool did
1:52 I wholeheartedly agree. Hugh Jackman puts so much effort into being Wolverine.
Yeah!! Love that man!!
Pls Hugh jackman IS wolverine😂
Why this never got an Academy Award is beyond me.
@Mike Dignum, Because the academy likes boring and un entertaining movies.😒
Because they never really ran a campaign for it. Hugh Jackman was busy campaigning for Greatest Showman
And remember when he was in Japan Yukio told him he will die with his heart in his hand... He did. The Laura's hand in his
And you said it ok ☺
Logan was 197 years old in this movie. And the Plot In 2029, no mutants have been born in 25 years, and an aging Logan suffers as his healing ability is failing. By age and adamantium poison
Back in about 1986 there was a storyline in the X-Factor comic called "the mutant massacre" where the cybernetic mercenaries called the marauders wanted to exterminate the mutant colony that lived in the New York sewers (of which Caliban was the colony's leader), which crossed over with X-Men, Power Pack, Thor, Daredevil and the New Mutants.
Angel was injured so badly that his wings basically needed to be amputated... which is how he got to the point where he was able to be corrupted and convinced to join Apocalypse as one of his 4 horsemen of the apocalypse (kinda like in X-Men Apocalypse).
slight correction -- the Marauders did do the mutant massacre, but the cybernetic team in Logan are The Reavers.
38:45 Not just de-aging him, but doing so and putting him on a body double. The entirety of X-24's had its CG, replicated from Hugh. It's insane how good it looks.
One of the blink and you'll miss it moments is about the news in the world and how corn has been genetically modified to turn mutants into normal people. So corn syrup like in wolverine's alcohol.
I saw this movie in the cinema, I cried like you have no idea, Logan has a big impact on me, the character was always my favorite and seeing him go... having to let him go, it hurt, but it was a very good movie to say goodbye :´(
Rip James "Logan" Howlett, born 1839, died 2029
My theory:
Logan has aged to a point that his healing powers has lost their edge. Likely that healing ability kept him on top of the poisoning effect of the adamantium in him. The poisoning also increases the breakdown of that healing capacity.
The Westchester Incident was referenced on the radio as they were leaving the hotel attack: 600 people injured, 7 mutants killed.
Before his death, Charles says he finally remembered the Incident; he expressed horror and guilt.
The theory is the adamantium is what’s poisoning him
I think the antimutant stuff they put in the corn to stop mutant births probably also helped to dull his healing ability
For him it's a mixture of the adamantium and food poisoning they did. The food poisoning is what targeted the mutant gene and what wiped them out Logans powers got suppressed over time due to eating those products which then allowed to metal poisoning of adamantium to set in. If he didn't have healing powers to begin with the metal poisoning would've been set in but since he healed as fast as he was "hurt" as long as he had healing factor the metal poison wouldn't be a probem. Like deadpool he still has cancer but he's constantly rapidly healing so its not a probem but take away the healing boom unbridled cancer as he put it.
Xavier had saved the world countless times. Him being buried in an unmarked grave hit me like a brick. Also seeing him so frail, suffering from alzheimers made me so freaking sad. This movie set a really dark tone.. Tragically beautiful.
A crushingly fantastic movie. Easily one of the best superhero movies of all time. Maybe the best 'X-men' movie of all time??
For sure!!! One of the best superhero movies of all time!!
Best X-Men movies are still First Class and DofP.
It is a good movie but to me the favorite still is X2
As someone who has watched loved ones develop dementia/Alzheimers, I can confirm that as people age, and cognitive function declines, it's a form of regression. In Charles's case its extreme because of his mutation.
I mean the part at the beginning of "maybe we are god mistakes" is kinda the big twist of mutants not being a higher evolution in the ultimate universe.
This is my favourite wolverine movie. Best fight scenes (old man logan versus x24) and the actress that played Laura was amazing.
Charles and Logan's death was so sad😭😢
Great reaction
Very much been one of my favorite reaction channels since you guys covered the Snyder Cut. Still watching a bunch of your videos weekly. The upload consistency is appreciated HEAVILY.
Thanks man!!! So good to have you around this long!!!
@@whitenoisereacts Love it! I'l be here for quite a while bro.
I have 3 daughters. When she says “daddy” I bawl everytime😭
I don’t have any daughters and I’m bawling
The Wolverine in this movie wasn't a man who was trying to be a hero, he was an X-hero trying to be a man.
Love this, you are finally watching one of my favorite CBM ever and movies in general, Hugh Jackman and SIR Patrick Stewart got robbed didnt even got a nomination for the Oscars
This is indeed one of the best superhero movies so far. My husband and I both cried.
Just a clarification on his decline.
They explained the villain was the 1 who wiped out Mutants via food that was genetically modified to target mutants that's why they haven't been born, so Logan has adamantium poisoning because his healing factor is weakened due to the food. If he never had healing factor he been would've had metal poisoning but he healed as fast as he hurts(remember Days of Future Past) he didn't just lose it because he got older and it rapidly set in the food targeting over time has now take it's course on his healing factor that it's barely working allowing for extreme metal poisoning to set in on him. Presumably the same thing can happen to Laura if she now is eating the same shit the world is eating I would imagine they weren't eating the every day outside world food while in the labs.
This is my kind of superhero flick. I get the existence of the more lighthearted ones, the early Avengers and Spidermans and whatnots of the world, but this man, this hits. If you can strip away the fact that it's a superhero-themed movie and it still holds up as just an excellent drama, you know this was masterfully crafted.
By far my favourite movie out of the whole bunch, well atleast it was since recently^^ Now it's like an hour to hour thing if I'd say the new Batman or Logan haha. Edit: How did I forget about freaking Joker rn?!)
You boys did not disappoint with this one, thanks for the reaction.
That actress playing Laura is one best child actors in the movies😊
NO ONE CAN REPLACE HUGH JACKMAN AS WOLVERINE. HUGH JACKMAN IS JUST THE PERFECT WOLVERINE👏🔥. LOVED THE GIRL/WOLVERINES DAUGHTER AND HOW SHE FOUGHT. THE ACTION SEQUENCES IN THIS FILM WERE REALLY WELL SHOT. THE WOLVERINE SAGA MUST HAVE COME TO AN END AS HE DIED BUT HE WILL ALWAYS BE REMEMBERED AS THE WILD, AGGRESSIVE AND THE GOOD MUTANT WHO FOUGHT FOR JUSTICE AND WHATS RIGHT👏👏♥️👍👍
One of the best movies I've ever seen, but damn is it rough 😢
the deeper voices in this reaction made this so much better XXDD
In the second one The Wolverine, she told him she say hed die with his heart in his hand. And in this one, he did...
Its the girl saying Daddy that fcks everyone up. That's what make people cry. RIP to the legend, Wolverine
Before the world cried for IRON MAN

Yes. And for Natasha too.
@@cherrypi_b eh

What an incredible movie! By far my favorite X-men movie. And like y’all said Daphne Keen’s performance was amazing! She was only 11 years old when she filmed Logan! She is so incredibly talented. I highly recommend everyone check out her other work including the show “His Dark Materials” on HBO Max. She stars in that show along side James McAvoy and Lin Manuel Miranda. So she’s worked with both Professor Xs which is super cool in my opinion. And she’s incredible in that show as well. The third and final season of the show will be out by the end of this year.
one of the greatest comic book movies of all time. IMO, this is TDK of marvel. I'd take this movie over any movie in the MCU tbh
Theres a lot of talk about who should be the next Wolverine - Why not Laura?? I'd watch a full movie with her as the lead.
Why do we need a new Logan?
Why do we even need more subpar X-Men movies?
@@S_047 huh
You guys are the best! Love all your X-men reactions🥹
They would capitalize on the x-men like making comics about them
Laura's fight is everything....AWESOMES!!!
The reason why Logan died in this movie at all and why does Logan loses his powers and suddenly ages faster and is the same reason why there are no new mutants born because the mutant cure is thrown into the food products that are used every day. For example what that farmer had the cornfields and this super corn is used to produce drinks like whiskey which is the drink that Logan consumes more than food it seems some times and so gradually over time his powers and abilities weakened the reason why adamantium now bothers his body is because the body cannot maintain it self and heal as before with full power and that is just one example. So other mutants who would have children cannot pass down there mutant gene so the world quietly got rid of natural mutants to make the ones they can control but we saw the end of the movie and unfortunately Laura and her friends are maybe the last or at least the last but one generation of mutants left on the world.
For the record...Charle Xavier had a seizure and killed the X-men. The mansion was in Westchester, NY. That was the "Westchester Incident".
After Logan fixed everything in Days of Future Past.....😢
THANK YOU, for understanding that this movie is far different from any other X-Men movie. I was getting worried for a minute. You ~kind of~ noted it right after the very first scene, but then you fully noted it later.
What other X-Men movie has portrayed the killing/deaths of non-mutants in such a brutal, raw fashion? None. They ~all~ got the watered down, "made for television" treatment of using implied brutality/death. But not this one. And that is exactly why Logan is my personal #1 X-Men movie.
One of the saddest moment in the history or cinema...Professor X dying in Logans arms. The transgenic element in the food and water was most likely effecting them both like other humans. On top of that, Logans age, and the slow poisoning of the adamantium to his system has finally caught up to him and is killing him. Professor X had one of his seisures a year back and killed most of the XMen during the episode. He and Logan are all that's left. I do believe that this is an alternate reality. I believe that the Professor X that is at the end of Future Past, that is finally shown in the first hover chair is the same Professor X in the new Dr. Strange movie. I really hope with the possibilities of new Xmen crossovers in the MCU that Laura can appear as X23 with the new Avenger team. How cool would that be.
Dude. Blade was a rated R Marvel movie in the '90s. Never forget that.
Seriously awesome you guys 👍 one of the most emotional movies that marvel has ever done
Well you're in for a surprise my friend, @105:50 because Hugh Jackman is coming back as Wolverine for a part in the new Deadpool 3 movie, which is coming out soon ipat the end of July.
The pictures are already leaked, He's dressed like the 90s Animated series Wolverine in blue and yellow
A phenomenal movie.
If/when the X-Men get introduced into the MCU, I hope Dafne Keen is willing to play Laura again. All the actors and actresses did a great job, but she did a stand-out job even among legends like Patrick Stewart and Hugh Jackman.
I’m hoping in mcu if they get the X-men in it would be Laura and her generation of mutants.
What made ppl like days off future pass is a mixture of the first gen media X-men (Patrick Stewart, Ian mckellen and Hugh jackman) meets the next gen media X-men (micheal fassbender and James mcavoy) and interacted. In film making this brings fanbase of both sides to watch it. Something they should attempt again for an mcu X-men film.
Bring in James mcavoy and micheal fassbender and other characters from that media generation of X-men while also get actors to play as late teens/young adult Laura and her friends of new generation mutants. Both end up in the mcu earth, they meet and talk with later say James/Charles when he looks into her kind he sees she knew the older Charles Xavier and Logan. From there they can hopefully continue the dream/vision of them for mutants now in a new world with a possibly new slate to work with.
Don't forget that Logan and Dark Phoenix aren't the end of the X-Men films... there is still New Mutants, which is a spinoff set in the same universe.
Finally got the emotional 😭
I love watching you two discussing movies. If I had the money I'd donate to your patreon. Most I can do is binge watch your channel at night as I try to get to sleep. Thanks for the company.

I love this Film so much!
In the end he died with his hand around his heart, just like the premonition in "The wolverine"
Best superhero movie man
This film is canon to the post Days Of Future Past timeline. They show footage of the kids from the facility in The New Mutants which takes place before Logan
I've been watching you guys' reviews on the X-Men movies and was hoping you would get to this one! Great job guys!
When Logan said, "So this is what it feels like..." I think he was saying that he finally experienced what peace felt like.
I think it can be interpreted in a few ways, it’s what it feels like to die, it’s what it feels like to finally stop and be at peace, but I always felt like he was saying that he understood what it meant to really love someone unconditionally and to be loved back by them. I know he loved Jean and he obviously loved Charles, but he was prepared to die for Laura and I feel she would have died to save him as well.
@@miaowington Really good points. All of those scenarios that you said would make sense too.
Feel like if they were to bring hugh jackmen as wolverine again i would want it to be an alternate universe to the universe they have going one which would be a great nod to him as that character
I know you might be a little young for huge Charlie Brown familiarity, but Lucy in the comic calls Charlie "Chuck" all the time.
easily one of the best comic book movies alongside the dark knight series both are leaps ahead of the MCU
when I first saw this I always thought laura was logan and jean greys daughter and thats why laura always wore the sunglasses because of scott aka cyclops
Hi guys, this is best movie about Logan.Emotional and with many suprising moments. I love this movie and Laura is perfect woman counterpart of volverine.

This movie makes me cry 😭 but I love it 😍
16:50 This is where the fun begins!
It takes place in the new timeline that wolverine created by going back in time
FYI, this movie takes place after The Wolverine. Logan's regenerative ability was greatly diminished after that film, hence why he's aging and all scared up.
Ok cool, that makes sense
Absolutely love this movie. It's heartbreaking!
Good morning guys
The animantium from his bones has been slowly poisoning him over the years
Finally you made it here!!
The guy with the mechanical hand (Donald Pierce) first appeared in 1980. He was a cyborg that made it into the inner circle of the Hellfire Club. His goal was to kill everyone else in the inner circle. He was eventually found out and imprisoned by the Club. He was rescued and formed a group of his own called "the Reavers". They were a group of cyborgs intent on eradicating mutants. When Pierce shows up with a group in THIS film, those are actually the Reavers.
Side note: the look of the character in the comics was modeled on Donald Sutherland. Sutherland played the role of "Hawkeye Pierce" in the film version of M*A*S*H. Donald Sutherland + Hawkeye Pierce = Donald Pierce. A bit of character origin for ya.
@White Noise Reacts, hey James -did you happen to catch the name on Logan's cab license ID,it's " James" Howlett, director & Logan are official members of James Society alumni?.

Wolverines sickness in this movie is due to his metal skeleton he's aging and so is the metal inside which is poisoning his blood stream also he isn't fighting it since like this movie suggests he wants to die after all the years of fighting he's been through
So they only touched it lightly in the movie, but Logan's main issue is Adamantium poisoning. His healing factor has kept it at bay for decades, but it's taxed his body considerably, thus why he's grown so old as compared to before his Weapon X conversion.
