Dany being Rhaegar’s child wouldn’t be a requirement for this prophecy tho? And the maesters said that if Elia had another child it would be a risk to her health. That’s the whole point of Rhaegar running off with Lyanna in the first place. As his sister she is still Rhaenyra’s descendant and a woods witch once prophesied that the prince who was promised would be born of Aerys and Rhaella’s bloodline. Being Rhaegar’s child has almost nothing to do with the prophecy. He just happened to think either he or his child would fulfill it. That doesn’t mean it’s true. I still think it’s Dany/Jon tho :)
Except. . . It was never her to begin with. The project calls for Aegon Targaryen. In HOTD, Rhanerya thought it was her brother, Aegon. Though, Generations later, we come to bare witness to the truth. The term “prince” quite literally meant Prince. The Prince who was promised was Aegon Targaryen. The Wolf with Dragon’s breath and we all know and love him as Jon Snow.
Well, since GRR Martin had a direct hand in HOTD. I believe it is what it is, a PRINCE that was promised. Dan and Dave just decided to mess things up like they did everything else.
They say Prince because it’s a Patriarchal society so they assume prince and also the Viserys and Rhaenyra’s do not know the exact words of the writer because of the usurpation of King Maegor
I did, too. I just think they rushed it too much They could have done two more seasons and flushed it out more, and it would have made more sense to people
After Mel met Arya and saw her destiny, when buying Gendry from the Bros w/o banners, she never tells Stannis, Jon or Dany that they are the one who will defeat the great other
Everyone saying how D&D messed up with the prince in Valyrian being general neutral, have you read the books?? Maester Aemon in the books himself says the Valyrian word is gender neutral and is convinced that Danaerys is the prince who was promised. “The Dragons prove it.” His words, not mine.
I'm sorry. I know the part with Arya laughing at the end is making fun of how the directors butchered season 8 but can we just agree that laugh has some level of cuteness to it 😅
I kind of love Arya as a character. She's smart, can see the hilarity behind the irony of a tragic situation, is a tomboy, and does what she needs to. She's a great character which has some growth and I really hope for the best for her character.(I'm on season 2 episode 2. No spoilers. Please don't tell me if she dies, she's my favorite so far out of the stark children, and one of my favorite characters following only Tyroin right now.(spell check that, I mean the "imp")
As much as i hated the ending, jon did fullfill the prophecy. The real threat was always dany. Thats the point. From season 1 she began burning ppl alive. That is not a savior, even if she did do good things when she was worshipped. As soon as she was backed into a corner, she always burned ppl alive
Why did missandei need to learn high Valyrian? There was hardly anyone left who still spoke it by the time she was born. It doesn’t even make sense that the Targaryens would still speak it after so many generations of living in Westeros
Jon was the protagonist and tragic hero of the whole story. Dany was mad all along proven in the end. He sacrificed her to stop the madness and in doing so fulfilled his destiny as the Iron Throne was destroyed once and for all. He did not want to sit upon it anyway.
It should have been, “the prince who is promised with bring the dawn. And you are the dawn.” BECAUSE THEY SHOULD HAVE ENDED UP RULING KING’S LANDING TOGETHER HDBDHDHDJWNS 😡
True, but then there’s still Azor Ahai and A Song of Ice and Fire, so someone has to fight the Night King and beat him-likely Jon. But at the very least it should have been either Dany or Jon, or both of them fighting together. Instead we got “master assassin” Arya who literally screamed at the Night King while trying to do a sneak attack.
This show is right up my alley. I love every aspect of that which in it's rooted. However I've not ever seen a single episode. Is there somewhere online where I can binge it? Netflix for instance (that's another thing I've never partaken in).
Wait so, what's the name exactly? If Prince and Princess means the same thing (cause Valyrian women were still very powerful alongside their male kin) then I'm guessing it's not "Prince/Princess that was Promised", but likely "Heir/Lordling that was Promised" You guys see what in saying? What's the Valyrian title for "heir", and since men and women are often seen as equal in their upper society then, they'd have a title. If you're a Lord, your son is... a lordling, yeah? So I'm guessing the title of Lordling is neutral due to the egalitarianism of their hierarchy.
I'm not sure about a word for heir, but darilaros simply means prince as well as princess. I suppose you could use it as a general term for heir, however only if it is indeed a child of royalty, as darilaros comes from the word dārys, meaning king
@simplyawful543 In Valyria, they inherited regardless of Gender, if I recall correctly. Wasn't till they went to Westeros did they adopt the First Men/Andal way of succession, letting a male heir take precedence. So, in Valyria, pretty sure that's why Prince/Princess means the same thing... unless I'm missing something
@salemtargaryen123 So it's a gender neutral word, though most likely just means "heir", which I guess means that it could refer to either or... I suppose that's the best way to look at it?
Brilliant cut to Arya laughing! Would be better with just her, though. That scene at The Bloody Gate was hilarious AF. All that way, all the hassle and The Hound looked so damn frustrated to find yet another dead end. Literally.

Being Rhaegar’s child has almost nothing to do with the prophecy. He just happened to think either he or his child would fulfill it. That doesn’t mean it’s true. I still think it’s Dany/Jon tho :)
Well they both (Danny and Jon) did have a 'role' to play as she explained.
It's mee 🤣🤣🤣
The prophecy here is wrong. The song of ice and fire is "the prince who was promised that would reunite the realm against the cold"
I'm still laughing & will continue to laugh for eternity.😂
This was a good edit I must say😆
Except. .
And then those intelligent writers fcked it up.
Aegon Targeryen is the prince that was promised and the rightful heir to the throne
They are beautiful all of them 😍
Beat clip compilation I’ve seen so far 😁
Arya laughing got me😂😂😂
Love this series until the end.
Serial cm can be
I did, too. I just think they rushed it too much They could have done two more seasons and flushed it out more, and it would have made more sense to people
After Mel met Arya and saw her destiny, when buying Gendry from the Bros w/o banners, she never tells Stannis, Jon or Dany that they are the one who will defeat the great other
ah yes Melisandre the one that leaves and betrays stannis after telling him to burn his daughter.
the red deserter
Everyone saying how D&D messed up with the prince in Valyrian being general neutral, have you read the books??
Maester Aemon in the books himself says the Valyrian word is gender neutral and is convinced that Danaerys is the prince who was promised.
“The Dragons prove it.” His words, not mine.
Thanks. Everyone naming Jon is jut along me mad
I felt that Aryas laugh on Sandor haha.....
Ist time I saw Sandor was pissed 😂
Is it just me or does the red lady looks like hiccups mother
Viserys poor lad didn't know the cold truth
Well that storyline freakin went nowhere
It went to a dead end, like all the prophecies. Which is the point! "Words Are Wind."
I'm sorry. I know the part with Arya laughing at the end is making fun of how the directors butchered season 8 but can we just agree that laugh has some level of cuteness to it 😅
Long story made short… it actually was a prince.
The ending of this vid tho! 😍😭💀
:v
I love your edits 😊
Fantastic edit 😆
What an connections man. An philosophical of the series.. Nice
If you read the books, you'd know they make a point, from the very first book onward, of pointing out that prophecies are BS.
Jon snow is prince that was promised
Arya's cute little giggle
Bran is laughing 😂 True mastermind
Best season evah!!!
This is the one thing I'll say: watch season 8 but expect absolutely nothing from it
Three of the best looking women in the world in the same room 👏
Whoever thought that aria was the princess of the dawn?
Nobody did, they only used the clip of her laughing as a reaction to Jon being the other person involved.
Good editing 👌
Goosebumps
As much as i hated the ending, jon did fullfill the prophecy. The real threat was always dany. Thats the point. From season 1 she began burning ppl alive. That is not a savior, even if she did do good things when she was worshipped. As soon as she was backed into a corner, she always burned ppl alive
I’m on a train with probably 20 other strangers. And I’m laughing out loud
I bet they think I’m nuts
Why did missandei need to learn high Valyrian? There was hardly anyone left who still spoke it by the time she was born. It doesn’t even make sense that the Targaryens would still speak it after so many generations of living in Westeros
As does another. Jon Snow. Who will stare at dragons that are about to kill him and constantly respond “you’re my queen” when talked to.
Great actress Emilla soo cute n professional.
Welp HAHHA all these set ups HHAHA D and D just didnt 'feel like john should be the one'.
omfg, yes....that laugh at the end from arya...I absolutely love it baby!!!!
Writers doing back flips to make the strong wamen
Jon was the protagonist and tragic hero of the whole story.
Dany was mad all along proven in the end.
He sacrificed her to stop the madness and in doing so fulfilled his destiny as the Iron Throne was destroyed once and for all. He did not want to sit upon it anyway.
😂😂😂🤣jon snow looks🤣🤣
This is the second time she has this conversation i swear
Great editing 😂
Well hey isn’t there a show for jon snow coming out..maybe we’ll see what that prophecy all about..
Man, Love this
You and stannis and Jon.
Red witch After learning her lessons with prophecies.
Arya got them good.
And also, Arya in the earlier episodes don't want to be a 'princess' 😂😂
That laugh
And the promised prince killed her girlfriend and left for wilderness
jon is the prince who was promised.
Didn’t see that Arya cameo coming 😂
This show is right up my alley. I love every aspect of that which in it's rooted. However I've not ever seen a single episode.
Is there somewhere online where I can binge it? Netflix for instance (that's another thing I've never partaken in).
I'm pretty sure HBO max has it, if you live in the UK and have Sky TV it's on there as well
@@simplyawful543 Excellent .I'll look into that. Thanks.
Jio cinema in India.
Wait so, what's the name exactly?
If Prince and Princess means the same thing (cause Valyrian women were still very powerful alongside their male kin) then I'm guessing it's not "Prince/Princess that was Promised", but likely "Heir/Lordling that was Promised"
You guys see what in saying? What's the Valyrian title for "heir", and since men and women are often seen as equal in their upper society then, they'd have a title. If you're a Lord, your son is... a lordling, yeah? So I'm guessing the title of Lordling is neutral due to the egalitarianism of their hierarchy.
Men and women were not treated equally even when they were both royalty
I'm not sure about a word for heir, but darilaros simply means prince as well as princess. I suppose you could use it as a general term for heir, however only if it is indeed a child of royalty, as darilaros comes from the word dārys, meaning king
@simplyawful543
In Valyria, they inherited regardless of Gender, if I recall correctly. Wasn't till they went to Westeros did they adopt the First Men/Andal way of succession, letting a male heir take precedence.
So, in Valyria, pretty sure that's why Prince/Princess means the same thing... unless I'm missing something
@salemtargaryen123
So it's a gender neutral word, though most likely just means "heir", which I guess means that it could refer to either or... I suppose that's the best way to look at it?
Brilliant cut to Arya laughing! Would be better with just her, though. That scene at The Bloody Gate was hilarious AF. All that way, all the hassle and The Hound looked so damn frustrated to find yet another dead end. Literally.
No because all nouns in high valyrian don't have a gender. So how tf could you forget that, especially when you're a fluent speaker. She's even said it's her mother tongue, tf
Then rhaneyra is the prince or princess that was promised. So it all makes sense 170 years later
