    Ah yes. And king viserys somehow forgot that little detail about his own mother language in house of the dragon, hence his obsession with putting a prince into aemma arryn.
    If only he would've had a missandei to explain his mother language to him like daenerys had. Would've saved aemma from a lot of miscarriages.

      That was not why he was obsessed with having a son it was bcs of a vision a dream he had about a son being born to him to become king after as at that time he didnt really consider his daughter as an option till ofc his wife died he wasn’t expecting or thinking his son was actually gonna be the prince that was promised from the prophecy

      No it’s that he needed a son to be the heir to the throne so that house targaryan would hold its power. He just knew that if the targaryan house ever fell there would be no prince that was promised

      Well the the doom happened hundreds of years prior to that point and the Targaryens had been living in the west for so long they lost a lot of their Valyrian language to time. So genderless nouns became gendered due to assimilation with the Westerosi culture. Also Valyrians followed a similar customer to the Dornish where first borns inherit regardless of gender, this was a major point of contention between Jaehaerys and his queen when their first born ( also named Daenerys) was being overlooked in favour of the second born because he was a boy. That was the first real conflict in an otherwise strong marriage. It's unfortunate that a lot of their language and culture got lost and replaced by Westerosi standards. This is why King Viserys interpreting it as a prince.

      Not really. Daenerys got raised in exile, being exposed to High Valyrian only through what her brother Viserys knew, and maybe something from Illyrio or even bastard Valyrian from residents of the free cities. Hence why even the accent from Rhaenyra (HOTD - born and raised speaking High Valyrian) to Daenerys is different.

    "from my blood comes the prince who was promised. and HIS will be the song of ice and fire" the prince and the song has to be 2 different person. And HIS = possession. So the soiaf has to be the pwwp's offsprings.
    1. Rhaenyra squished out 5 boys. The 2 with Daemon (supposedly) the only legitimate heir. Their great granddaughter, Daenerys, married into the heir of Dorne.
    2. Rhaegar is the direct descendants of Rhaenyra. He believes, he is the prince who was promised. While Maester Aemon think it was Daenerys.
    3. Both Red Priests thought Daenerys/Jon is the savior. But both Dany and Jon could actually be Rhaegar's children. Dany through Elia Martell and Jon through Lyanna Stark. Dany with her fire quality and Jon with his ice quality. So all of them being Rhaenyra's descendants and the children of Rhaegar would be fit Viserys I purpose. Viserys, Rhaegar, Master Aemon, the Red Priests, were right.

      Dany being Rhaegar’s child wouldn’t be a requirement for this prophecy tho? And the maesters said that if Elia had another child it would be a risk to her health. That’s the whole point of Rhaegar running off with Lyanna in the first place. As his sister she is still Rhaenyra’s descendant and a woods witch once prophesied that the prince who was promised would be born of Aerys and Rhaella’s bloodline. Being Rhaegar’s child has almost nothing to do with the prophecy. He just happened to think either he or his child would fulfill it. That doesn’t mean it’s true. I still think it’s Dany/Jon tho :)

    Except. . . It was never her to begin with. The project calls for Aegon Targaryen. In HOTD, Rhanerya thought it was her brother, Aegon. Though, Generations later, we come to bare witness to the truth. The term “prince” quite literally meant Prince. The Prince who was promised was Aegon Targaryen. The Wolf with Dragon’s breath and we all know and love him as Jon Snow.

She's a great character which has some growth and I really hope for the best for her character.(I'm on season 2 episode 2. No spoilers. Please don't tell me if she dies, she's my favorite so far out of the stark children, and one of my favorite characters following only Tyroin right now.(spell check that, I mean the "imp")

      True, but then there’s still Azor Ahai and A Song of Ice and Fire, so someone has to fight the Night King and beat him-likely Jon. But at the very least it should have been either Dany or Jon, or both of them fighting together. Instead we got “master assassin” Arya who literally screamed at the Night King while trying to do a sneak attack.

  • @thalmoragent9344
    @thalmoragent9344 Před rokem +2

    Wait so, what's the name exactly?
    If Prince and Princess means the same thing (cause Valyrian women were still very powerful alongside their male kin) then I'm guessing it's not "Prince/Princess that was Promised", but likely "Heir/Lordling that was Promised"
    You guys see what in saying? What's the Valyrian title for "heir", and since men and women are often seen as equal in their upper society then, they'd have a title. If you're a Lord, your son is... a lordling, yeah? So I'm guessing the title of Lordling is neutral due to the egalitarianism of their hierarchy.

    • @salemtargaryen123

      I'm not sure about a word for heir, but darilaros simply means prince as well as princess. I suppose you could use it as a general term for heir, however only if it is indeed a child of royalty, as darilaros comes from the word dārys, meaning king

    • @thalmoragent9344
      @thalmoragent9344 Před 9 měsíci

      @simplyawful543
      In Valyria, they inherited regardless of Gender, if I recall correctly. Wasn't till they went to Westeros did they adopt the First Men/Andal way of succession, letting a male heir take precedence.
      So, in Valyria, pretty sure that's why Prince/Princess means the same thing... unless I'm missing something

    • @thalmoragent9344
      @thalmoragent9344 Před 9 měsíci

      @salemtargaryen123
