Jon Snow is the right type of leader the modern day world needs and I think he represents George R.R. Martin's ideal of a heroic leader. Someone who doesn't want absolute power but knows how to wield influence. Someone who was born on the side of the disadvantaged but was never discouraged to become something greater than originally intended. Someone who holds honour closest to their heart and remembers the value of their family and people. Someone who can find courage in the darkest of settings and knows deep down that courage is the light in which many will follow. Someone who knows that they are human, not an omnipotent being, and has the drive to find truth, seek justice, defend the oppressed, and die for a noble cause if need be. Some may say that being powerful and humble cannot coexist together but I couldn't disagree more.

Again, just because someone has a strong personality doesn't make them a good ruler. Dany and Cersei for example both have TOO strong a personality. Her people are starving? Better burn the food supplies an enemy has to prove a point. Your enemy has surrendered? Well you just gave a speech about not wanting to be a queen to ashes and death, but it's probably best you burn the people alive too. They didn't bend the knee after all. Sansa rightly points out they don't have the resources to support two armies and a dragon? Time to lay out the threats. I could go on and on and on.
If you seriously think that Dany is a "perfect leader" both in fiction and in real life when her entire philosophy is "everyone who doesn't immediately bow down to me and give me what I want deserves to die in one of the most horrific ways possible," than I sincerely encourage you to re-evaluate some of your principles.

From starting of series, jon snow always had an emotional attachment with us and always had soft spot in our heart.Only character in the Got who wasn't interested in the iron throne but also the one who deserved throne most.His whole life was a Tragedy .Though he won physical wars but on personal level he always lost someone close to him.Before birth, he lost both his parents, as he came to night watch he lost his father figure Ned,brother Rob and uncle.He lost both women he loved.He lost most of his closest friends and well wishers.And at last he was exiled for all the sacrifices he made.He faced difficulties and humiliation of being bastard every single day of his life,still he earned respect and love from other by his honor, leadership and braveness.While everyone was fighting for iron throne ,he was the only one who cared about greater danger of White walkers .Most inspiring charachter of Got in my opinion was Jon Snow .

Whoever does the casting for this show is underpaid! I don't care what they make it's not enough. The quality of the acting in this show is unreal. It's one thing to be able to find quality adult actors, all you have to do is watch other shows but the child actors playing rolls like Little Bear, Arya, Joffery (even though he was in a few movies) where did they find these amazing actors?
its a combination of very good acting, great direction and probably one of the best stories ive seen on the small screen... the locations they film at are a huge help too.

Robert Jordan could only write one female character, with a hundred
different faces or names. WOT is a decent enough series, but it's
outdone by the next generation of fantasy writing; writers like Brandon
Sanderson and George R R Martin who write better plots, better
characters and better settings.
Rohan Williams I'd have to disagree... and so would MANY others, but hey to each their own. With the way technology advances over the years and understanding of the universe, it gives more possibilities and general ideas to writers, so to a certain point writing should be more complex and progressive... but to say Jordan is outdone by 1 series of Sanderson or 1 Series of Martin is rubbish IMO.
Jon snow is probably the best tv character if not best character ever created his story is so deep and full of hardship it is almost impossible to hate him. A true underdog that everyone aspires to be working to prove his worth and showing people what a true leader is.

sam johnston I've started to read book one "A game of thrones" after the illustrated edition came out and I'm now about half way through it after having been a huge fan of the tv show for years
If you really went through the first season 6 times, just read it man! Really. It's pretty much like rewatching the first season but with so much more details and the characters who really get to tell their story and highlight their personalities since every chapter the point of view shifts.
I do strongly recommend this book, can't tell for the others but I'm really into an alternative plot so I guess I'll devour the whole serie
Camilla Mazzatenta i got them for Xmas of my parents which was a nice suprise for a change instead of underwear or a jumper haha so yeah im about half way through book 1 now. Im not sure i like how young the characters are supposed to be it seems George either expected this to be much more drawn out cos Jon in season 6 would be like just 18 which is ridiculous to say what he's been through and the respect he commands other than that im enjoying it, iv been through the series about 6/7/8 times now so i think iv really watched them to the Max for now! Really, Jon Snow is the character that made me want to watch GoT, and I don't regret any second of it. His journey throughout the seasons is the best storyline by far. And he's my favourite character just as I expected.

One of the great morals of the Book Series and TV Show, is that character and action matter more then labels: Basterds and imp. John Snow and Ramsey Bolton are Basterds. However, John is a self less leader. Ramsey was the opposite. Even though Tyrion was not king of High Garden, he made more prudent decisions then King Geoffrey.

This was very well done. I love me some Tyrion, and at times I love about a dozen other characters, but for me, (and I assume for most others) Jon Snow has been the one to root for the entire time. There has never been a moment in a Jon Snow scene where you are not rooting for him. Now that I see him and Dany talking, I can't help but think how much more I like him than her. I'm sure the sadistic show writers will break my heart, but I will root for Jon Snow until the end.

I came back to this video after I let all of season 8 sink in for a while and I am very upset. Jon Snow was a man who did what he believed in and did not apologize for it. He brought everyone together and unified all different types of people towards a common goal. But the last season butchered everything Jon Snow had become. He barely contributed in the Battle of Winterfell and did not do much else until he killed Dany in the last episode. There was all this buildup to him fulfilling his destiny and becoming the one person who could unite the realm with his leadership and courage and then the writers decided to make him look like a bitch and get sent off to the wall again. He was the rightful heir to the iron throne and a complete badass. Im very disappointed in the lazy writing of season 8 and in the fact that they tossed aside Jon's entire character development throughout the season.
The whole series has so many heart felt , gut renching and memorable parts. It truly is the one of the most epic and powerful series of all time. I can’t wait S8.
