This missile is big (200metric tonnes, compare to Minuteman-3 which is 37 metric tonnes), thus it can fly more payload for longer distance. USA has no ballistic missiles defenses for rockets flying from north or south poles, that's why it is important (USA would have to spend loads of money to add that). Actually, the missile is direct replacement to satan-1 with improved capabilities, which is especially important that Satan-1 is soviet-made and had Ukraine-made parts. BTW, Satan is name, given by NATO.

It is difficult to know the real facts in this war. As an example western media are saying Javelin missile as a great success but Russians are saying even after 6 missile hits to a Russian tank is still operational after repairs.
I feel like this can be attributed to russias use of explosive reactive armor. I could be wrong though.
