You don't care about your own people....but you care about Ukraine...
I just feel so bad having to watch this train wreck in slow motion, the humanitarian emergency, the massacre, and the bullying of the proud, brave Ukrainians without doing anything tangible to stop a madman in his tracks before he performs yet another genocide in Europe. I feel ashamed of being European and simply watch this tragedy unfold. Sure I can send money, clothes, prayers, but I'm not sure they will get there and they certainly will never stop a madman from wiping a peaceful, democratic, hard-working nation off the map. I feel profoundly ashamed and sad. Watch out for Ukraine relief funds, some sleazebags are trying to profit out of people's suffering. Verify who and where you're sending your money to before you do. Another aspect to consider is that with the obvious disarray that exists within the ranks of the russian armies, the distinct possibilities of them having far more "friendly fire" incidents occuring. They are utilizing soviet - era communications and sub - standard equipment. The Ukranian military has proven to be a more than able and worthy adversary. The russians cannot complete the mission assigned to them by virtue of their lack of control of the sky. As a retired veteran, I can say that now that the element of surprise has been lost, the russians are in an extremely vulnerable position. The cities will not and cannot be taken. The entire beachhead and population center, every nook, swell, tree and cranny could be laid to waste from over the horizon. The fact that Russian commanders are willing to resort to the sort of war crimes they have already been committing tells me the threat of small scale nuclear (even shoulder fired) advances would be a near certainty as they expand the campaign beyond Ukraine. Problem with going off road is that they may get stuck in the mud. The mud in Ukraine is so well known as a barrier the Russians even have a special name for it.
mud slowed down a lot of military during WW 2 in many parts of Europe inc Ukraine
So true but more importantly, moving their vehicles undercover in the forests, etc bordering the road, will only temporarily hinder strikes on those vehicles. Ukraine air attack will use missiles with infra rad sensing targetting systems which will see the tanks as hot bodies through the currently seasonally sparse foliage against the frigid ice and snow-bound ground. The engines in a tank or other vehicles in cold weather require a regular start-up and run to keep coolant water circulating and oil in particularly cold conditions from turning to thick treacle. Furthermore, Ukrainian soldiers on the ground will have increased cover to work in and get closer to the tanks and increase accuracy with anti-tank weaponry. Choosing such cold weather conditions to attack during could be Putin's greatest mistake though, as this increases the resupply of equipment to mechanized infantry units. The Ukrainian soldiers being essentially medium and heavy infantry using foot power to take them to strategical positions and under heavy cover of trees from both air attack and potential long-range targetting by long-range shelling will not be anywhere near as troubled as their counterparts, who can only sit in their tanks cold and hungry.
So there was a column 40 miles long that set for nearly two weeks. And they were given the ability to move and was not taken out by drones while they were sitting ducks.
Actually a lot were. And in many cases those vehicles were so closely packed that drones designed to take out one managed to take out half a dozen.
Now the attacks won't get that many at a time...but the dispersion means an increase in attacks.
So nothing really changed. As long as that convoy isn't moving it is a big waste of resources and a potential for Putin to lose this war.🤷♂️
I think it can be so simple that it's the mud that have frozen enough to be easier to drive on by the heavy vehicles. So I hope that it get warmer and rain so they get stuck again...

Judging by the poor performance of the Russian military so far, it doesn't seem like a good idea to publicly discuss alternative tactics.... As Napoleon said: "Never interrupt when your enemy is making mistakes."
your arguments are based on data from the American media. It's not objective
@@TheDrAstrov Firstly, this wasn't an argument, it was an opinion based on fact. The Russian convoy had not moved, and was self evidently exposed, for over a week. I based that on footage showing that, and showing them being shelled. This is bad military practice. That's pretty objective, isn't it?
Secondly, I do not get my information exclusively from "the American media". News sources from around the World are there too, Doc.
Now that the convoy has dispersed under cover, the idea that experienced military tacticians should point out flaws, effectively tipping off the Russian's seems logically inadvisable.

Karate means unarmed ,so you are in defence then you look for attackers weakness ,then strike hard
The traffic jam was caused by the Ukrainians blowing a bridge just south of Ivankiv, 60 km NW of Kiev. Both the routes from the North toward Kiev come together, and the bridge was just south of that. The Russians used a pontoon bridge to let trucks across the small river, but you can only do that one at a time and slowly. They've still been pumping trucks through there 24 hours a day for two weeks, It's possible the Russians have finally managed to get enough of everything needed right away forward (and probably a lot too much of some things), and they've pulled the traffic off the road because they can afford to sort things out a bit and send trucks forward in some sensible order. I'd be willing to bet that whoever's running this logistic effort is brand new in his job.

Opportunities for Ukrainians to take over these tanks and rocket launcher trucks, now that they are dispersed with lesser supports from each others.
@Simeon Nedkov He is correct though.
I do not think that it is just simple as taking tanks and trucks and then using them yourself
Some tanks and trucks have different equipment that is usually produced in russia which means that any tank or truck they take is good enough until it breaks down or until he runs out of ammo which is usually not gonna happen before tank gets destroyed or breaks down
There is also a issue with not knowing how to operate every tank, soldiers are not trained to know how to drive and use every tank and plane you throw at them

Yes, and also make it more difficult for the tanks to go anywhere and actually do anything.
Or more easy
That meant it will be hard for them to move around and provide support to other groups, in another word is sitting duck, they are dug in for defense instead of offense, that meant they are short on supplies. Ukrainians just need to bring in Javelins, Panzers, and drones to take them out one by one, cut off their resupplies line and reinforce coming.
Yep kinda like a RV lodged in an alley

It means the Ukrainians lost their chance to strike the convoy when the tanks were neatly lined up on the highway.
No, neatly lined up tanks have neatly over lapping fields of fire. Now, one teenage sniper in a blind spot can pick off soldiers who leave their vehicles to go to the bathroom. Imagine hiding for weeks in an armored outhouse.
No, Krieghandt said how it is. Little russian clusters can easily be found by following their tracks and can be comfortably liquidated by the Ukrainians one by one. It will now be a near impossible task for the Russian air forces to protect their men on the ground.
Please get this military analyst back. I liked how he explained things
Interestingly, the PUNISHER drone has been designed and developed by UA Dynamics, a company launched by veterans who fought Russians during the Crimean annexation. With this drone, the Ukrainian forces have the ability to strike deep within Russian lines without risking their troops which also includes civilian conscripts.
Apart from its own combat drone, Ukrainian forces also have access to about 20 highly acclaimed Turkish drones, Bayraktar TB2, Business Insider reported. Ukraine would have also benefitted from the deployment of its all-terrain drone, Peacekeeper, that passed factory tests just a few months ago.

Target the front and rear of the convoy so that the middle will get stuck.
Exactly what happened 🤷♂️
That is exactly what the Ukrainians have been doing since day one. It works pretty good obviously, many videos showing the results.
Thank you Maxar for these incredible images!! Keep up the good work!! Nowhere to run to baby, nowhere to hide!! ☺️
That is a man I would never be comfortable calling “Spider.”
Time for Europe and US to step in and finish off the Russian aggression. Ukraine can't fight this alone they need active help
Unfortunately they are led by the weakest and most incompetent US President in history. One year in, Biden has been a complete disaster!
That is WWIII
Silly comment
Oh look at that.... big talker here thinks WWIII is nothing. Why don't you put on some boots and go fight, jarmo?
@@kellywillis8091 this is already WWIII if Ukraine falls to Russia then they’re even closer to NATO countries and will feel even more threatened
If they got the fighter jets, a week ago, this wouldn't be such a threat/
Would just be the excuse the madman needs to launch nukes. And putins nuts. #RussiaSux
That's why I dnt see Russia getting close to NATO at all. That convoy would have been wiped off by the americans
How many airport do Ukraine have that can service and arm the aircrafts that's the real issue
They already had fighter jets why would the same thing not happen to new ones
Right, and WW3 would have already begun, would that male you happy?
"General, more generally..." [maintains straight face]
In word and deed, do everything possible to stop and end this war.
Sitting there as long as they did with the world watching, now they're worried about being seen?
I don't think so. They did as they were told n those great war generals boxed in they're own troops.
They sat because they weren't told what to do.
Glorious.
40 mile convoy hasn’t done a thing for Russia from videos I’ve seen.
Yes i see it behind those image
Well explained
If your war plan is based on the notion that your enemy either can't fight or won't fight, you are asking for trouble and you will find it.
True .. there is nothing more formidable than our Human Spirit of Preservation & Survival when forced to confront danger .
Don't forget: The Russians learned a lot in Syria especially when it came to bombing hospitals, schools, orphanages and other soft targets that couldn't fight back. Father Putin was sure proud then.
Long live the Ukrainians.
Blowing through armor is very difficult, but taking out tracks and tires is not. Take out their legs, and they're much easier to deal with.
It is a crime, that the Ukrainians were unable to take full advantage of the 40 miles, of stalled Russian Convoy, an absolute shame!
They haven't been able to because the convoy extends across their borders. They won't cross their borders to hit the convoy. And, the convoy has protection, they are tanks and missile systems and they also have air support. Ukraine has been able to tell when the air support is light where the convoy extends into Ukraine and that's when they have been able to hit the convoy. But they haven't been able to keep a sustained bombardment on it for the reasons I spoke about above.
It shows that they don't have the weapons for it. No drones even no artellery. So all what this "experts" say nice wishing..and hiding from reality

Maybe a toll road. :)
I have to laugh.. 😂 I got a speeding ticket in a construction zone by FEET. Like 2 feet. The cop argued his foot was on one side and his other foot was on the other side. He chose his foot in the construction zone and my ticket was 435 dollars XD…dammit.
PRESIDENT ZELENSKY YOU ARE DAVID, MOISES, THE GOD'S SOLDIER, UKRAINIANS ARE HEROES'S LAND.
Ukraine and Zelensky cannot win this war.
Yeah right!
If he was David he would be fighting not giving speeches from shelters an scared to get his hands dirty. He is just the mouth of Ukraine nothing more. Don't put him on a pedestal cause he is no Saint for sure.
Either god is vindictive and loves human suffering or he is compassionate and despises war. There is no in between
@@mlktim, so if only Zelensky was fighting along side his soldiers he would not be a coward, but what bout Putin who started this, sure he has no problem with blood on his hands, but doesnt seems like he is in a rush to join in on this invasion himself
No report of Jussie Smollett sentencing today????
Something we don't want to talk about????
You people don't seem to understand military logistics or the limitations of operation extension. Firstly, Ukraine can use their limited air power to directly perform fast jet attack runs, HOWEVER, you all failed to realise that there are S400 (A-G) type anti-air defense systems in place on the Belorussian and Russian borders, within their territories, capable of identifying and shooting down fast jets, making bombing runs extremely difficult, the only technology that can circumvent S400s are F-22R and F-35Bs. Secondly, the Ukrainian air force lacks the numbers of replenishment, the moment a fast jet is shot down, that is one less plane they can use for their own defensive air action, there is a cost-benefit analysis on the strategic importance of the convoy, you attack it you decrease your defensive air capability elsewhere, where it is more integral in its use. Thirdly, thinking that the Ukrainian strategic command has not thought of directly engaging the convoy is absurd, of course, they have, last I checked their strategic command has far more real-world experience than anyone on youtube can muster. They have considered and performed an analysis of the advantages and possible disadvantages if they are to commit and attack it. It's not as simple as "send plane here, drop the bomb, run away", local AA defenses, BMP-2 "Terminators", "Tunguska AA" and S400 AA missile systems (arguably by most air defense experts considered as one of the most advanced radar-AA surveillance and missile systems ever designed by international standards) all stand in the way of Mig-29s and soviet era Ukrainian jets performing runs on the convoy, the planes will be shot down almost assuredly. No point being deluded, there are realistic goals and absurdity that get your best pilots killed for naught, use the brain, not the heart. My two cents.
Well described. Yes Ukraine have to fight within their limitations. Russians air defense systems are outstanding.
Whether they are on the road or dispersed off road, they aren’t getting to Kyiv. That’s the important point.
There stationary and not making headway.
In the Gulf War vehicles trying to retreat to Iraq were obliterated which became the Highway of Death. It was humiliating to the Iraqi Republican Guard which were supposed to be ''elite'. This 40 mile long convoy that was stuck for days was a chance to accomplish the same thing to Russia. 40 miles long highway of death would have been a crushing visual that Russia wouldn't be able to deny.
Russia must not know how to gps cords. There are thousands of back roads they could have taken. Yet they chose the highway and now they are dumping apc and tanks off the side of the road until they have the fuel to pick them up.
just need a few squadrons of A-10's 😉😉😉😉😉
@@basen546 BRRRRRT!
The US had absolute control of the air space at that time. Ukraine does not at this time.

Special military tactic called 'hide in the woods'.
I recollect being told that these vehicles had run out of fuel, or the tires had become dysfunctional. How much of what we are now being told is insightful?
Let's consider the facts: 1)loss of leadership 2)lack of training of underlings 3)failing equipment 4)under supplied. These add up to Putin not knowing what the actual state of Russia's military, Ukrainian snipers have been successful at killing 6 top commanders and one general. He's reduced to a burnt earth strategy to decimate and depopulate cities to have any chance of taking over in Ukraine. The tenacity and determination the Ukrainians have shown guarantee Putin will not be able to hold on to Ukraine in any event. Read the history of the wars against native insurgents.
The images are insightful as in they have spread out, however the explanation is an hypothesis which may or may not be correct. In some cases if they weren't given enough food for example they might be searching for food for arguments sake. Being near buildings though means can't fire missiles at them without risking hitting the buildings.
The infantry teams that start going after these vehicles will need to scout their egress routes carefully, so that they themselves do not get bogged down after their engagements end.
So yes, they may escape the drones, but they will become more vulnerable to smaller groups of Ukrainian fighters that track them down and ambush them. And the fact that they are in smaller groups means they don't have strength in numbers to fight back when the Ukrainians have local knowledge of the terrain.
You are wrong. Ukraine and Russia have the same terrariums.
People are the same. All of them have half and half blood, same as historical, traditions and language. You are wrong as many others who think that would be safe, if Russia don't started this operation.
You don't know who was Bandera and who are those groups of terrorists.
And better don't know about.
They are would come to your country, if Russia don't stop them.

@@irinakhan8688 Once you said Oliver Stone's movie, everything you said went out the window. Great entertaining movies, if you like fiction. If you want facts, move on to someone else, but not Stone.
You are absolutely right Strike Zone Fishing Adventures. By dispersing the column, the Ukrainians will have many more positions of hidden attack. The Russians will not be able to protect the others flank. The average Russian soldier will be less under the direction of the senior officers loyal to Putin. Many have Ukrainian relatives and will defect or desert their post the first chance they get.

Anne Laure Bonnel - French reporter. Whatch her documentary. She was there from 2015, I believe till now. She has in French and English language. I said Oliver Stone, because it was in English. If you know different languages, then I can tell you to watch something else. Oliver Stone movie is the truth and it is documentary.
Watch Gonzalo Lira interview from Kharkov city. He recorded from one of hotels few days ago.
Watch a LIVE translation from one of block post in Kiev city when 3 or 4 reporters, don't remember, of British Sky News was under the fire of Ukrainian army and natsist of terrorists group's members. So many fakes going online.
That's why I provided only that information which I know is truth. USA spent over 1.7 millions dollars of taxpayers for one week. This money went to ITECH group for making lot of short video. Poland making a lot of them together with Ukraine. In some channels an American reporters already understood where are the fakes and where are the truth by showing next each to other real and fake photos or videos. Someone interested to show all kind fakes. You do not have to love Russians or Ukrainian. The most important is the truth. You will not know it unless you see the real information instead fakes.
I must need glasses i thought this was a downhill mountain bike review
Stand, short on fuel, and lack food supplies. And mud is their enemy.
I'm not an expert, but I would think fuel resupply vehicles and armored personnel carriers are just as vulnerable to tank busting javelins and stingers and whatever else they have as these tanks are- and the ground isn't as frozen and hard as they may have planned on- we can plainly see their tracks in the mud .. if the Ukrainians can get, or maybe they have, anti aircraft defense systems or their own fighter jets, that would level it out some- that's the best thing that can be done to shorten this and help civilians.
It's not being LOUDLY broadcast, you know, but the U.S. and NATO nations have been steadily funneling military supplies, including anti-rocket systems, etc. as you mentioned via Poland into Ukraine. The Ukrainians HAVE the weapons, but I think we also need to let them have the Migs, even if it means getting NATO directly into a shooting war with the Russians. Maybe that's what Russia needs - a real ass whupping, in order to learn that you cannot just march into a country and take it over because you have a distorted view of history!
You don’t even waste those weapons on resupply vehicles or APCs…you shooting them up. And any decent RPG will wreck an APC.
@@ChicagoDB Problem is how to get the RPG behind Russian lines.
Ukrainian Airforce has fought hard but less than a third left. They stationed I. West of country. Russian convoy protected by fighter jets and mobile Anti Air even s 400 stationed in Belarus
@@ChicagoDB yes you do waste weapons on trucks. The trucks supply the tanks and if tanks runs out of petrol its useless and most likely soon abandoned.
In the beginning of ww2 the Germans had a similar situation happen before they began the Biltzcreg invasion where the convoy sat stalled on a long stretch of dirt roads for weeks. A spy plane saw this convoy and reported it and nothing was done and millions died. We've sat and watched this Russian convoy sit for weeks and now it's moving again most likely to destroy and kill soldiers and innocent civilians. If In Ww2 they would have sent bombers to destroy that convoy millions would have been spared and now we're making the same mistakes. Should have bombed that convoy awhile ago. They aren't following "rules of engagement" or "fighting fair" and their intentions are clear so treat them in kind.
It’s that easy? Just bomb it?
This is not ww2. Calm down

If you think about that convoy, it’s crazy. Imagine driving 80mph on a motorway. It would take you half an hour to reach the end. 🤯
As the Russians hide in the bushes, they're serving their purpose; target practice for RPGs.... outside the bushes: target practice for drones.
Rather hard to hide when tracked vehicles leave a visible path of where they went. Any IR camera can find them from the heat given off by the motor.
They're like vermin hiding...
