Holy crap…this place was haunted?!!! I had no idea! I loved visiting this place as a kid during a vacation, but it never gave me the same or similar creepy vibes that parts of St. Augustine did, particularly the lighthouse porch.

This triggered a memory as I very young child I got to visit with my mom and I still Clearly remember seeing a naked woman swimming around the indoor pool. I brought it up to my mom and she denied that part happened. But I can still see the details from this memory 30 something years later. Wondering if as a child I was able to see something adults did not…?

Doesn't Patty Hearst own the property?

Patty has never had any ownership of the property. She was a youngster when the Hearst Corporation gave 120+ hilltop acres to the State of California. The surrounding ranch plus the road To the castle are still owned by the Hearst corporation but an agreement with the state of California provides that the state is responsible for maintaining the roadways up to the "ranch house" as Hearst called it.
